It's good to see Golden Tate get a taste of losing that way.
How come Golden wasn't out there in the endzone? Or for that matter Calvin Johnson? They were probably too far from their helmets to get in the game quick enough.

Would have been sweet for Golden to catch the shit out of that ball though.

Oh well. Friggin Detroit Lions.

Yeah, I don't think they allow it--even if the employee doesn't care/know, it'll likely require a manager override which will almost 100% guaranteed result in a denial.
That's what I figured. Guess I'll see what's still on sale come Sunday, then. I've got a lot available via GS so that cuts way down on what would be worth picking up and I don't really want to spend more than ~$30 per game with the deal.

I'm surprised they limited it to PS4/XB1. Seems like it'd benefit them to move more of the games from older systems.

Caldwell said he didn't have his standard hail mary defense out there because he wanted to defend against a multi-lateral play like the previous one that got the penalty because of the distance from the end zone. So it was a hybrid D call that didn't include Calvin, who normally is in for hail marys.

(Destructoid apparently forgot to mention this edition's metal case)

The sleeve for the Day One Edition looks nice, but I wish we were getting this:

That metal case...

There's also new UI-less PSX footage:

45% off used stuff at Hastings, not as good as B1G1, but you don't have to buy 2 items at a time and the site actually works. Use code snowflakes to bring prices down to the below before tax and shipping. A few notables.

Bioshock 1 + 2 ultimate rapture (all dlc) $13.75

https://www.gohastings.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=9352337&sku=290504659&departmentName=GAME&productVariantId=11598958&quantity=1

Dark Souls 2 Scholar of First sin edition  (all DLC) for PS3 $8.25

https://www.gohastings.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=13117362&sku=296539084&departmentName=GAME&productVariantId=17988355&quantity=1

Batman complete 60's series limited edition blu-ray $66.27

https://www.gohastings.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=11357819&sku=296133504&departmentName=MOVIE&productVariantId=17180743&quantity=1

Thought about pulling the trigger on that Batman LE, but I think I'll be happy with just the DVD of S1 I got from BB for $5.

Both games the DLC is not vouchers, it's on the disc.

Took me like 3 years, but finally beat XCOM. Awesome game. Iv already played enemy within, and that is so much awesomeness too with alien genetics and cyborg upgrades. Makes a great game even better.

also fantastic clan tournament last night. I tore it up with my bud DYouEvenLiftBro for the rounds we did like 3 hours in, lol.

peace guys and have a great weekend!

dark souls 3 looks great, but do you really have to roll so much in these games?
Rolls have some invincibility frames so if you don't use a shield to block or get really good at parrying (pressing L2 with a small shield or weapon in your left hand just before an enemy attacks to knock the attack out of the way and stun them) then you are going to be rolling a decent amount to avoid damage.

Guardian Owl and I are both level 99+ if any of you other dragons crown bros wanna do some Tower of Mirages with us soon, just to get even more op. iv seen so much stuff in the towers/labyrinth that isn't even in the main game, so don't skip out on it even if ya got the plat!

I remember rolling in Demon Souls with that big pyramid head / cloud strife buster sword. good times. roll roll 1hitko

i returned a digital adaptor to verizon last month and they still havent taken it off my bill and keep charging me for it.  ugh.  I tried calling a week ago and got hung up on the first time before he even looked at my account and then i got some dude in India who said he would take care of it yet did nothing.

EDIT:  Now the person on chat says it can take 1-3 cycles to come off the bill.  I shipped the thing back to them Oct 30th.  Thats fucking stupid.

Verizon billing is the worst. I really try not to change shit with them too often as they fuck it up almost every time. I know for a recent technical issue I used the FiOS app on my smartphone (android) and was shocked when the guy was able to fix my issue within mins at like midnight. I was shocked that it so well. Most of the time was me typing in the serial numbers and stuff he asked for. Not sure if they address billing issues on the app but maybe worth a try if they do.

I really hope PSX isn't PlayStation VR's coming out party.
Then I think you will be disappointed. This is a weekend for PlayStation gamer's and supposedly PS VR will be coming in the next year. It is the biggest opportunity for them to make some announcements that get buzz going for the hardcore fans. The reason WII succeeded was hardcore fans buying day one, and then spreading the word. PS VR will only succeed if the same thing happens. They will have to get the hardcore on their side, and what better place than a hardcore PS Weekend in SF.

My prediction is they announce No Man's Sky will feature VR at launch. Trust me you will be getting a heavy dose of VR.

Remember everybody I called it that VR would be stupid.  No one wants that shit.  Those of you that think you do will play it for a second and never again.  And you probably only play it if someone you know has it.  I doubt any of you will buy it.  Sony is going to waste a lot of money and resources on another dumb app/console.

I guess it is Sony's Kinect. Luckily it came along AFTER the launch of the PS4. So I can ignore it.

So far I've not seen much evidence that they actually understand gamers at all. All this stupid tech demo bullshit will get a few purchases from people with too much money, but unless they have viable exclusives they're not going to get very far with the device. If it fed off the PS4 like Vita does and could natively support PS4 games it'd be a different story, but right now it's barely more appealing than the Wonderbook.

Damn the PC version of Just Cause looks real nice.  It is a god damn shame they fucked up the consoles with long load times and frame rate issues.  I still have fun with the game and will keep playing it but Avalanche just fuck ed themselves by releasing this game like this.  Should have learned from the issues with Unity and the backlash they got.  Unity ran great when I played it but a lot of people forgot about it because of the launch issues.  Same shit will happen here.  Idiots.

fwiw the PC version is getting ripped for having massive framerate issues and weird stability problems (like getting repeatedly booted from online connectivity which causes a 1-2m retry until it asks if you want to play offline).

then skip it. we can only hope they patch it as nicely as the devs did for Unity. but i will keep playing since i like it anyway and am invested. plus Avalanche clearly doesnt have the same pockets as Ubisoft does for Ass Creed.

Protip to budding inventors of future technology: if I have to put something on my face to use your invention, I won't use it.

Just think - sony could've used all this r&d for vr to make ps2 discs work in the ps4!

I might, I can always pick it up later down the road if they fix it up via patches.

This both are having problems... PC is having other issues that can cause it to be almost unplayable, at least consoles just have long load time problems

There've been a few recent and very prominent examples of how much a poor launch state can completely fuck a game's sales. Arkham Knight still hasn't recovered from its PC launch and (AFAIK) has been given up on at this point. MCC fucked MS over completely. Fallout 4 lucked out in not having game-breaking bugs but they're still all over the place from what I'm seeing in here and elsewhere.

It's fairly entertaining from the standpoint of somebody that rarely buys games on release, but I imagine for you guys that jump straight in that it can be more than a little annoying. You guys are part of the problem, though; as long as people buy on day 1 the initial sales rush will continue to justify buggy launches.

I dunno that mcc fucked Microsoft in any meaningful way, halo 5 still sold just fine. Gamers are a loud, mouth breathing herd of complainbots but they'll still buy the new shiny when it comes out regardless of history.

Yeah unfortunately there will always be the publisher that doesnt care about future sales only whats in front of them. And to some extent that makes sense. They make a business decision. Is a delay better for more sales or will the extra cost outweigh the benefit. Its all a big game.

And no, people that buy games on day 1 arent the problem. They will never be a problem. They are the ones that keep the industry afloat. People stop buying games day 1 and people stop making games. Full disclosure: I only buy games day 1 because of GCU. Without it I would be back to what I used to do. Buy games after a year or so when they are $20 or less.

MCC crashed in price almost immediately and got a TON of negative press online. Sure the brogamers who were already in for the XB1 picked it up but I'm sure it had a very negative effect on sales. MCC was a huge flagship title and the terrible launch must have pushed quite a few prospective customers away.

Halo 5 broke records but had hardly any impact on console sales. That's really what MS needs at this point.

Yeah, most of us in here that buy immediately are quickly playing the game and trading it off. Obviously that's a different situation from most day 1 gamers, but that doesn't change the fact that it validates publishers putting out games that aren't ready. In here the worst that will happen is that you'll flip the game back to BB without finishing it and just grab it again later when the price drops and the bugs are fixed.

The whole "keeping the industry afloat" argument is pretty silly IMO. It's really just the huge AAA publishers that pull this nonsense since they're the ones with the ridiculous marketing budgets that trap developers into a forced timeline.

Man, what a shitty perspective to have. "I don't buy games day 1 so I think it's funny when people who do have to deal with bugs." Like pharm said, day one buyers are good for the industry that we all presumably like so much. It's not like people are notified that there are bugs and they buy it anyway. Why is it their fault? It does seem like some developers are learning lessons as a result of bad press, so there is a silver lining I guess.

Man, thinking back at all the great PS2 games I missed and I just get more and more excited to see what games they plan to bring to PS4.
