This is apparently releasing Feb. 9th: http://gematsu.com/2015/12/dying-light-enhanced-edition-announced

Dying-Light-Enhanced-Ann.jpg
Hopefully there's a $20 GS glitch for this one that I don't miss this time.

Existing Dying Light owners get the enhanced upgrade with a season pass or expansion purchase. Otherwise you're SOL.

Anyone getting the expansion let me know, maybe we can co-op.

Who do you cheer for in Tarholes vs Tigers?
The lesser of two evils; the Tarholes. It's been unbearable enough around here with Clemsux's undeated season and our current woes. I can't imagine how much more unbearable it would get if they won the National Championship. I'm one of those fans who roots for my team to win, and my rival to lose no matter who they play.

Sorry about your Gators, Gator.  That Alabama D combined with Henry is a tough nut to crack.

Also, if nothing else we're getting head coaches around the country raises.  Herman at Houston and now Taggart at South Florida, who interviewed here yesterday.  They also interviewed Rich Rod yesterday, but I still think Muschamp is the front runner.

Rogue Galaxy feels pretty good. Camera is probably the most dated bit but it's not too bad. Game isn't messing around, though. I've already died twice to the intro boss giants.

Make that 3 times now. You fight two giants and each hit knocks out 1/3 your health. They attack in a couple combo punches and can also stomp to stun you. I'm sure there's a trick to this I'm missing.

I feel obligated to buy ff7 again, what with having multiple ff7 posters, wallscrolls, action figures, advent children dvds and blurays, strategy guides, future press guide, tshirts, etc etc in my house. I almost named my kid a ff7 name, but settled on Link Dragon cuz I didn't want to give him some crazy name. I already own it on pc, ps1, ps3 tho... but yeah im gonna buy it again

got a few texts/pix in the last hour, 4 chix wanting to party, 2 wanna cam, 2 wanna dvp. can i muster the willpower to turn off my ps4 and party or not... id post the pix but most aren't allowed on cag

i keep forgetting these opportunities might dry up someday and i can play video games whenever i want, but also it is cold out and i kinda just wanna trip out and chillax here. idk

i think ill just have some of them come over here, especially if they can bring some party favors, but im not going out when it is cold

I'm not sure why I geeked out so much seeing Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge in glorious HD, but still:

HYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYPE
I'm going to be honest, I'm not really hyped for it (I'd rather have a new game and story instead of FF7 and the associated stuff's story shoehorned into a new game). Square's going to pour tens of millions into this game and piss a bunch of people off with it by changing it so much. It'll be example number 293562652852 of Square doing something stupid, expecting people to love it, and not understanding why their expectations were unrealistic.

Played the first hour or so of Rogue Galaxy. Looks quite decent. Obviously the texture quality is a bit low and that stands out more on backgrounds and such, but the characters look fine. Camera is a bit wonky and being locked onto an enemy doesn't force the camera in their direction, which is old and weird now. Every once in a while there's a slight sound hiccup but that could be from the original game for all I know.

The game itself is interesting--combat is a bit clunky with having a regenerating action bar and live fighting. If you attack quickly you can knock enemies on their ass, but you quickly run out of action points at which time you have to wait for your action bar to regenerate. Alternatively if you hold R1 and block an enemy attack it'll refill instantly.

You have a sword attack, a gun attack, and jumping. Some enemies fly so you can shoot or jump+attack those. You also have abilities that you upgrade with items; the first ability you get is a flash sword for an electric attack that lasts a certain amount of time. If you trigger that ability then all your attacks do electric damage for a bit. There's also a charge attack but while charging you move really slow so I haven't figured out the timing very well yet.

The start button is triggered by tapping on the right side of the touch pad. The select button is on the left.

I think the PS2 emulator is pretty solid and the game itself is promising. Obviously cheaper is better but I'm okay with the $15 cost for a game I've wanted to play for a while now. Hopefully we'll see the PS4 selection expand quite a bit, but with the trophy support it seems as though publisher involvement is necessary and based on the anemic PS2 Classics selection there's no telling how well the PS4 equivalent will do.

I'm still disappointed that the PS2 classics aren't compatible or don't at least give you a discount on the PS4 version, though. I'm sure there are people who will double-dip on emulated digital games but it'd have to be really cheap for me to do it.

What's nice is that you'll get something entirely new in ffxv first so you can see if you like the current direction or not. Strangely I don't think I qualify as a ff fanboy precisely because there's really not much final fantasy stuff they've released that I haven't liked. They make good games if you're in to the genre and unlike something like tales they actually change the systems enough for everything (since 7) to be different.

100% of the time when someone starts denying that they're cheating or going to cheat at something without anyone even asking them or bringing it up, that person is a cheater.

I'd have been perfectly happy playing a remake with the same general art style (hand drawn backgrounds, etc), just made with more modern standards. Square would have been able to make it much more cheaply than however much this one is going to cost, and I'm not sure there would be much of a difference in sales numbers. So from a business perspective, I'd imagine a less ambitious remake could have been more profitable.

Caveats: I didn't think I'd like the 13 trilogy before playing them, and I've enjoyed playing 13 and 13-2.

$99 for a year of PS NOW doesn't seem too bad. Has anyone played PS3 PSNOW games on Vita? Wondering if it's worth taking a shot on it or not.

Galaxy Rogue actually looks really good via Remote Play. Seems very responsive when RP is working correctly. I never use RP and I need to figure out the whole direct connect/wifi connect thing. I keep getting the PS4 link symbol indicating connection problems even though I'm sitting 6 feet from the PS4.

Not sure what is up with the store and pricing, but bastion is now 2.85 and was 3.75 earlier.

Thanks to me forgetting to purchase it earlier, just saved myself a whole .90.

Yay me!

I am close to finishing Act 1 I think. No crashes so far. Just crazy load times. I challenged you, vig and avenged. Can you guys send me a challenge too? Maybe one I can realistically get would be nice.
I did this earlier in case you didnt notice and it should be easy to beat. Even for an old man such as yourself.

PS i havent caught up on the thread yet.

Taggart isnt that good. The dude won 2 games, then 4 and now 8 this year. I am surprised he is being interviewed. Almost sounds like a token interview. Also not gonna lie. I am kind of hurt he would think of leaving already since again he only won anything this year and still not a conf champ.

Cro, Therm and any others playing GH Live:  I'm definitely getting the correct daily coins even though the pic shows Day 1 and 600 every time.  I just got 1800 on Day 10.

And I know this is sacrilege, but I'm probably going to play GTA3 before FF7.  I was watching someone's stream and crazy nostalgia was kicking in.

So do the PS2 GTA games have all the songs?  In particular Vice City?  And do the games run well?  I gotta go find some videos.

What did Pancakes think?

Oh, and I just got back from Creed (the movie, not the shitty band), and it was badass.  So glad to see Michael B Jordan in a good role again.
