You dont watch Scandal.

TL:DR for scandal is the white republican president is having a long on going affair with his black former campaign manager turned high power attorny/fixer.
Spoiler: That president is a hugely abusive douchebag asshole. To support my argument, he's played by this guy:

To be fair though its not even remotely about anything political.

Still a great show.

It and How to Get Away with Murder are great. Both shows are ran by Shondra Rhimes and have a strong black female lead. Good stuff.

Too bad I missed those free 1 month of Xbox Live Equistina was giving away, I would have wanted one. Darn you people and your posting in the morning.

I need to go find a PS2 eyetoy or something for these last two stupid Burnout Paradise trophies. No Gamestops near me show any stock, and I'm not sure if the other used game places near me will have them for cheap. Who thought these trophies were a good idea?

It's odd how it seems like every political show is about Democrats. Maybe Republicans are just super boring.
While Newsroom is not directly about politics it plays a large role in the show. The main character is a Republican, but a large part of the show is him thinking the Republican party has lost its way due to the Tea Party movement.

Nice to see you come around. There is really absolutely no harm in adding a PS+ game to your download list even if you'll never play it, but there are people you try and tell this to and they just refuse to do it. So good job on not being stubborn!

I mean, I even added fucking Tekken PSP to my DL list!
Back when I first got PS+ I looked at Rayman Origins and was like I will NEVER play that. So I never grabbed the free Vita version. A few months later I decided I wanted to play it and Best Buy had it on sale fairly cheap. So I bought it. Got close to the end and traded (or sold it not sure now). Wasted a few bucks and I can't try to finish it later (unless I buy it again).

I now 'buy' everything that is free. Even if I 'know' I will never play it.

I know, I'm doing a terrible job at not buying stuff. But I like buying stuff!

At least it's a game that I can have going as kind of a secondary game. Play it when I don't have much gaming time, or when I don't feel like starting something new. Plus I want to see what it looks like on PS4.
It looks amazing. The soundtrack is terrible, though.

Very little in the holiday sale seems interesting. A bunch of old Disney PS1 games. Why?

What's with the two new RPGs for Vita. Pocket RPG and Freedom Hero (?). Both have that blocky polygon PS1 look to them.

Where do you see Disney PS1 games on sale? lol

Didnt I say how I hated tech guys and how they always want to blame their system failures or misses from the BRD/FRD (I assume Gator knows what these are) of a project on someone else or another system?  I have to fuck ing push back on these guys every fuck ing time there is a system issue or program bug causing issues.  Every fuck ing time they have excuses that I have to fuck ing shoot down for an hour before they say "oh, I see the problem."  Yeah I told you the problem an hour ago fuck face!

I am very agitated today.

The wife is going to see Mockingjay with a friend tonight. Should be able to knock out that last trial cave in Okami, and finish up the game altogether Thursday or Friday. May have to pick a short game to fill in the gap until the PS4 gets here and I can start inFamous.

You don't have medicine for that?

I have tried watching House of Cards, but I lost interest before even getting to the halfway point of season 1. Orange is the New Black is a way, way more enjoyable show. Which reminds me that I need to get back to that. We've been diverted by The Wire (which I'll also say, season 3 is doing me in. Not sure I'm going to make it to the end).

If you have engineers not delivering what is in the FRD, then you have absolutely terrible management in the engineering department. Missing on a date or having bugs to work through is one thing. If you just flat out don't do what you agreed (at least I assume engineering had to sign off on the requirements doc) the management in the engineering department really is useless. It is basically their only job.

Ideally the bugs should be caught by the engineers, but worst case it should be in SQA. However, I know that time to market has started being way more important than quality in most projects now.

and yes I will probably STILL get ac:victory day one if I'm being honest. I can't even begin to guess what part of my brain is broken to cause that to happen. probably the same part that enjoys running around late 1700s paris collecting cockades.

neat how you managed to incidentally drag ac:unity back in to the conversation!
I always try to not hammer games so bad for bugs. I know how hard it is to avoid bugs on such complex pieces of software no matter how much testing you do there will always be a scenario you just missed.

It is different when games like LBP3 and Unity (granted I have not played this one) seem to have large components that are just flat out broken. It says you either didn't test or didn't care about anything but getting the game out.

I'll prolly get it as it has a cool setting to me and I havent played AC since IV so will have been a while.

It is probably a little different here since we arent building machines, only software but our project managers definitely suck. The other problem is our bank is so large we have too many fuck ing systems in between everything that a cross impact is missed frequently.

Making this up but this is what I seem to run into too much and it causes issues with new code and projects:

System A sends transactions downstream to B, which then sends it to C, which shakes hands with D only to pass the info back to B for final posting.

GOD DAMN EMMANUELLE CHRIQUI IS FINE.

in all serious the technical issues are waaaaaay overblown. framerate has been pretty reliable (especially compared to other AC games), it looks incredible, and while it does crash randomly, it's always seems to come out of nowhere (i.e. probably not in the normal course of testing).

my issue with it is the insane blandness of the story (current and historic) and the complete disconnect between things to do and things you have to do. it really feels like the actual non-technical parts of the game were written/designed by a team of interns who have never played an ac game before and thought the whole thing is supposed to be 'stab stab sword sword stab stab stab' with no variety.

also, 300 chests to collect and more than half require lockpicking? fuck you for manipulating my ocd, ubisoft.

Wow the day after i beat Unity, yet another shitty AC game gets revealed. Thanks Ubi.

Anyone getting dat Monopoly Plus?

Problem #1: Project managers existing. They are fucking useless. That position does nothing but cause pain and grief for everyone. They walk the line between engineering and marketing without really understanding either. All they know how to do is use MS Project or some form of an Agile tool. That has to be controlled by engineering to provide any level of accountability for the engineers, IMO.
