My concern with that commendation thing is that I got to Vanguard and Crucible rank 3, and then started doing a faction. Some people seem to think you'll get some commendations for the ranks you've already obtained, but what about people who are doing a faction? Even if I don't get retro commendations, should I just abandon my faction? There's no point in leveling it up if I can't get the commendations from it.

Exotic upgrades bother me less now that it's been said you'll start them at 300 damage. I thought they were going to be completely reset and you'd start at 230 or whatever it is. And like ugly pete said, people are flipping that their current legendaries will be worthless, but they won't be. Their max damage of 300 means they're still effective against level 30 enemies. You're going to need better stuff for the hard raid, but that's not opening until January, and there's plenty of time to get new stuff.

I think the factions WILL give commendations, but crucible ones. Really all a faction does is replace your crucible vendor. Factions take crucible marks to purchase stuff, so my guess is they will need crucible commendations now at the faction vendors.

My issue is my main character only has level 3 vanguard as raising past that is pointless since I can buy everything as it currently stands at level 3 if I have enough vanguard marks. Doing a faction earns rep from both vanguard and crucible so it is easier to level if you play both pve and pvp, but takes crucible marks only for purchases. So instead of using my faction to keep getting rewards for levels on it, I now have to drop faction completely to level only vanguard to get a new rep level to get a commendation to buy stuff with my vanguard marks which are WAY easier to get a lot of than crucible marks.

To me its making factions WAY less useful.

Yeah, eating healthy makes you healthier, but until a doctor tells me I am going to die tomorrow or not be able to walk/go blind/deaf etc. I will eat whatever the fuck I want. I dont really care to live an extra couple years on the back end of my life.

Seriously, what do 70 plus year olds do that make you want to live any longer than that? Chewy? Do you know?

It would also be nice to have some healthy fast food joints to eat at once in awhile. I guess Panera acts like they are but some of their stuff is pretty bad for you in reality. It is pretty crazy to eat out and to eat healthy you have to do legit work. Lol. I guess that's why books like "eat this not that" sell though.

Stealth Inc isn't that bad in a puzzle platformer sort of way. hopefully I don't need to go back to the earlier levels to S-rank them in order to unlock later content.

I'm playing it now although I haven't in a week at least. I'm up to level 7 or 8 and I haven't had to go back to unlock the levels. Unless there is some super secret hidden Mario world at the end.

You should definitely watch it. It was excellent. Billy Bob Thorton was especially good in it. I was waiting for a decent discount on the Blu Ray set on Black Friday, but there wasn't any. I can wait since I watched it as it aired.

Edit: Speaking of Blu Rays, I just saw that the 2d version of Guardians of the Galaxy Blu Ray will be $15 on release at Best Buy. That sort of day 1 pricing is rare for a normal release, but unheard of for a Marvel/Disney one. Score!

I think there are 2 bonus levels for each world. One for getting all S-ranks and one for getting all the collectibles.

It was mainly because it happened to be on ESPN when I turned off the Playstation last night. It was a close game between 2 ranked teams near the end of overtime so I watched.

Even besides the Badger game I've always hated duke. I remember being so glad the bucks picked Big dog over grant hill back in the day. The only players I liked for Duke were JJ Reddick, and of course Jabari Parker :)

Dunno about that. I think a lot of people fire up games because they're free and then lose interest. From the games I've looked at it seems more like the end result is the trophy values going up since the people that play it "free" are less inclined to finish than the ones who buy the game.

Nah, games that hit Plus always go up in value on TT and trophies get more rare on PSN Profiles. Lots of people play the game for a bit and either don't like it or forget about it and never go back. Didn't they say like less than half of people who play games actually beat them?

Way less than half. I think its like 25% or less. Not sure where I remember that from though. I could be making that shit up.

I do know that very few people that play GTA or open world games ever finish the story.

There are a couple bonus levels locked behind that stuff but you'll be able to beat the whole game without having to go back and S-rank things or anything.

 
And speaking of Best Buy's crazy ad for next week, I'm just now noticing the Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale. I've bought Dragon Age and LBP recently at full price from them recently. I wonder if they will let me return/rebuy both of those and pick up a free game with it. Anyone here Best Buy savvy?

 
Super random question: Anyone that uses Bing rewards, if you get a reward like an Amazon gift card...if you don't redeem the gift card right away does it expire? I'd prefer to store it on my phone for future use because I end up using my gift cards on Christmas presents or stuff that I don't want to use it on because Amazon doesn't give you a choice once it's in your account.

That's good news. I could see there were two bonus levels from the first worlds I cleared. But was worried the last levels would be locked until I had "x" number of S ranks, or Stars or whatever.

Boss fights are tricky. ugh.

 
S-ranking levels in Stealth Inc. adds an extra layer of puzzle to the game and is part of what makes it cool. But no you don't need to do them if you don't want. Awesome game. Which reminds me that I do need to go back and finish off the DLC.

honestly they can't stop you from doing a return/rebuy as long as you're in the return window (rebuy first and return with the old receipts). b2g1 with gcu is awfully tempting - ends up being like $32+tax for each $60 game?

also means the tivs are going to tank like a mofo. MUST FINISH UNITY NOW.

That's the problem. Why are they resetting perks? Even if the damage starts at ~300 that a) means shit in PvP and b) will still require a ton of XP to re-level. Perks are what matter here. I guess it could be worse, and I am appreciative we at least get to carry over vanilla extoics. But it still sucks. Needlessly convoluted and cheap. It's grinding for the sake of grinding. Not to mention Xur will sell these upgrades at random. And before anyone says that's how all MMOs work, it's not. Not the ones I've played, at least. WoW's progression system was supported by the amount of content available. I'd grind on occasion but for the most part, the levels were designed intelligently around all the shit you could do and places you could go. That's what gets me about Bungie. They act like we don't know it's going to take time to create that content. I let up on them. But then they do stuff like this (talking about legendary gear, too). IDK dude. I'm trying to be understanding but jesus. Oh, and mythoclast, the one that's safe from all this sorcery, is the one I chose to stop upgrading.

It was really good. All the lead actors were great in that. It's only tangentially related to the movie Fargo (it does take place in the same universe, it's not a remake). Also season 2 takes place several decades before the first season so you wouldn't necessarily have to watch the first season anyway (though you should since it's good). If the second season is about what I think it's about, they only reference the event, they don't give many specifics when they talk about it in the first season.

You are giving Sony (and to an extent, trophies in general) way way way too much credit. Except for the developer relations rep that is in charge of assigning what type of trophies a game gets and maybe the playtester who plays it, there is going to be almost nobody at Sony that knows or cares how many trophies RE HD has.

I'm definitely ok with snk porting games natively to ps4/vita, but it'd be nice if they did something to them to make them worth spending money on - cleaned up the graphics, online coop play, something? maybe it's there, but I'd expect them to be shouting and flailing their arms if they did anything but a straight port.

they're also 'polling' (in the comments?) for future port wants. I like the old neogeo catalog, but it's the kind of thing where just a little bit of cleanup / feature adds would go a long long ways for me.
