3 maps left on Natural Doctrine. Looks like I should be able to knock it out tonight. I've gotten pretty overpowered and am crushing all enemies in my way now, which is nice.
Is it actually worth the time and money for a fan of SRPGs or is it somewhere between mediocre and garbage?

Sweet jesus, is PSN shitting the bed for anyone else? It says I'm "not signed in" but clearly I am. Restarted my console and still not working. Man. Was just about to get on some PvZ and Diablo. Sony pls fix this shit. Pls.

I can't sign in either. It had died at some point while I was playing and I didnt know it until I went to upload a save and everything went to shit.

The web page says the status is online, but its not.

Cleaner, do you actually play destiny? I've never heard you talk about it until today.
Lol I asked her the same thing. She plays on X1 (shhhh).

@Therm like I said, man, to each their own. I just don't see the point in going through that trouble just to take it down a day later lol. So you put up lights outside your home the night before?

This was my original plan, and the reason why reading that the good powers made it easier confused me. Went against everything I knew about inFamous.
Neon is easy mode during good runs, but the game isn't particularly hard on expert. Evil third power actually works quite well on expert, it's just a different style of play from the other powers.

And you don't need to collect all the shards to have an easy time of it on expert. You'll get plenty without going too far out of your way. Just depends on which playthrough you want to go faster.

Suikoden coming out reminds me how it was releaed with only one disc in one of those box set cases. Tricking you into thinking the game came on more than one disc and had extra content; quite a few PS RPGs got me to fall for that.
I remember Wild Arms doing the same thing.
You guys do realize they had to put them in those cases because of the humongously awesome instruction booklets, right?

If only they told you how many discs were in the case somewhere on the outside...[attachment=10451:2014-12-07 20.07.23.jpg]

I think they just wanted to make sure everyone noticed the awful cover art.

I don't know why they didn't just use the manual's artwork like they did in Japan. Or why a 40 page manual needed a double case.

Zimm somehow managed -11 points between two slots of his FF team.
Yeah my team sucks. At least I made it to 16 with two games to go.

My other work league I made the 7th seed (out of 12) and have a 46 point lead in the two seed. But he has Rodgers & GB Defense tomorrow against Julio Jones for me. Good amount of money in the pot for that one.

Started a second character (even though I just started playing today) in Borderlands the pre-sequel while I wait for my co-op partner to come back. Nisha seems kinda easy mode. Her ability regenerates quick and as long as you have plenty of ammo, all you have to do is just spam the fire button to get a lot of kills. I'll probably just stick with wilhelm when my buddy is around and if I ever feel like playing solo, I'll keep playing with Nisha. Nice to see a bunch of people sending me messages about playing co-op within an hour of playing. Shit never happened with borderlands 2, lol.

Also....fuck trophy syncing on ps3. Ho lee shit. Will I ever see 12%?

So my home network is absolutely fucked.  Modem looks like it is working fine, but I can't get anything to connect wirelessly.  I can't even get a connection when I hard-wire my laptop straight into the modem.  So now I'm stuck waiting for them to send me a new modem.  I partially think this is Comcast intentionally screwing me so I will use their new modem, which they've already been bugging me to do for months.

So right now I'm on the free xfinity wifi hotspot that is next to my house.  What is this even?  Can somebody explain to me where this wifi is coming from?  It's also "open" so is it still ok to log into things like my bank accounts using this open connection?  Thanks.

wait is psn down? I tried using this xfinity WiFi connection on my vita and it seems like it should work, but I couldnt view my friends list or anything.

Wow. So as we were walking out of the convention center we saw a bunch of people surrounding a table and a box of spare cards. People were trying to trade for what they needed. Chris and I both needed those damn Battlefield Hardline 10s. I had a couple good bargaining chips but everyone else also needed those damn 10s. One guy realized he had no shot at a full deck so he he said "I'm just going to lay my cards down and you guys can grab whatever you need." He spread them and I saw the 10s. Two guys had a single finger on each, but I went and snatched all the 10s and said "Sorry. I need these. They're the last ones I need." Hehehe. Full deck with both available Jokers. That was fun.

Poor Chris needs those 10s. Someone just listed them on eBay for $30. Originally I was thinking of selling a full deck if I got them, but after all that effort I'll probably keep them since they're awesome. I gave away all my extra cards except the red queens because they're from Super Giant Games and are one of my favorites. I believe it's the main character from Transistor and one other female. I'll post a pic of my full deck later. And yes, I'm a mega nerd.

Comcast steals an SSID on a lot of devices they deploy to cover large areas of people. It essentially makes it just like you are at home using Comcast. You have to use your same login information wherever you use xfinity wifi. Only Comcast users can use it with their credentials.

Yes, mentioned already. You can sign in now, but you cant do anything that requires a server more than for logging in it seems.

That's the lovely "feature" of the newer comcast wireless modems, they force an open wifi mode that other comcast subscribers can log onto to use the internet on your (or in your current case, their) connection.

Breakfuss is correct. I have it on XB1 and bought the damn LE with the season pass included since it was pretty cheap with GCU at BestBuy. I haven't played it much. I'll pick it up again with the expansion out this week. Maybe. Got Lara Croft to play and have barely touched Dragon Age or Sunset Overdrive. Too many games, not enough time.

I got to play Axiom Verge. It's basically male Metroid which is cool with me. I'll grab it eventually.

I'm trying to think of other games I played. I think I listed most of them. I did take a bit of pictures of stuff there too, mostly characters, so I'll post those later as well. Got a special pic from Munky's favorite new game haha.

If you're a bit fan of sRPGs it's got a pretty unique approach and a cool system that really adds a good element of strategy that most sRPGs don't really have. The abilities and range of attacks is quite nice, and the world is pretty atypical in the way some things are handled.

Unfortunately it's got a lot of problems. It's pretty damn tedious, to be honest. Most maps you have to get your entire party into an end zone area, and with the movement being limited to two squares per turn it can be a real chore to get everybody gathered in the right spot. You also have chests throughout the game that you can open, but you have to do it manually--you don't get the contents just for finishing the battle, you have to go and pick up all the crap. Half the chests are locked, and (AFAIK) only one character can pick locked chests, so that makes it even more tedious due to having to walk her back and forth. When a character (or enemy) moves and performs an action, it zooms in to show the enemy and then tells you what action they're going to make; if you have 5 enemies going at the same time, it zooms in on each, then each moves in turn. The dialogue and cut scenes are unskippable even though you can die and have to start over very easily. Every character is unique and (until the last 3 maps) any one of them dying is game over, so if you fuck up you're redoing everything from the last checkpoint. Half the characters who end up in your party are enemies at first, so when you encounter them you have to avoid killing those people; this is an issue because when you kill one enemy any characters with remaining attacks will target any other enemy in range, so you can accidentally kill the enemy you're trying to keep alive. There are a number of scenarios where you have to do something very specific, like escape from a group of giant monsters by running away and getting to a specific location; with the movement issues described above this is quite annoying, and it's not completely clear that the monsters have infinite respawn so fighting is pointless.

The strategy of the game is pretty cool, but there's quite a learning curve and the rest of the game drags it down quite a bit.

thanks guardian and gator. I figure that is exactly what was happening, but just wanted to be sure. so the wifi im on now I guess is one of my neighbors newer comcast modems haha.

and thanks for tje psn info gator. im still going to hold out hope that I can use the xfinity wifi on my ps4 and vita for some simpler stuff, like updates, syncing trophies, and maybe partyt chat.

Honestly, so much better to have your own modem instead of paying your cable/internet company each month. I got one on Amazon when I moved 2 years ago for like $30 and it has more than paid itself off.

Vita is getting an exclusive Symbiote Spider-man statue when Infinity 2.0 releases. Kind of sucks you can only get it through the bundle, but at least there's a power disc that will change the original Spider-Man to the black suit. Really only for collectors.

I am shocked they even made one for Vita. You would think they would have to change the game considerably since 2 player would only be available via online or that ad hoc nonsense. I guess 3DS must be the same way though.

Na, we don't put up lights and stuff. Just the tree. My mom's a bit more into it and will put out decorations in the house, like a Christmas tablecloth and knick-knacks and shit. Neither the wife nor I are into that, though, so we don't really deal with xmas outside buying Christmas and attending family stuff.

I wasn't complaining about it, just pointing out another title that they did that with. I don't recall the instruction book being all that huge, though, and plenty of games had normal cases and came with books.

fuck.

I almost bit on Marvel Infinity solely because of my adoration for Venom but managed to pass. They pretty much have me now. I'll only be grabbing the marvel packs though.

I picked up NES Remix for 3DS today for $5 after GCU, $15 cert and $5 BBY Nintendo promo. The Nintendo rep was talking to me about the Amiibos and mentioned the Samus variant that sold for $2500. She then mentioned she owns a Fox Mccloud Amiibo that only has 1 arm and she'd never sell it or trade it. I wonder how many fuck ups Nintendo released with the Amiibos.

I did get a bunch of free Nintendo Swag so that was pretty sweet.

;___________;

Was this advertised somewhere?

Ha, I'm also a Venom fan. I used to read comics and had every Venom appearance. Then he got so popular that they gave him his own mini series and looked for any excuse to put him in everything.

It was all downhill from there, although I hear the new Venom is okay. But it's not Eddie Brock anymore so what do I care? Give me the good ol' "I'm gonna eat your brains" Venom any day.

Check your local BBY since tomorrow is last day for the promo for $5 off a WiiU or 3DS game. Since I was buying a game the rep gave me a majoras mask 3D small poster, NES Remix wrapping paper, Pokemon Keychain, captain toad puzzle, smash bros sticker and a Nintendo character sticker sheet.

marvel vs capcom venom is what really sucked me in to arcade fighting games. he was just so fun to putz around with.

I think its supposed to be "General Gaming Thread". But its mainly off topic talk about cosplayers and streamers when I would read it.
