hey guys remember tokyo jungle? that's one seriously weird ass game.
I bought that in the $1 flash sale as well and actually played a bit of it. Was really interesting and a pretty cool concept for a game. Didn't hold my attention for very long, but I agree that everyone should try it out at least once, if only so they can mate w/ other animals.

Gator - have you seen beermenus.com? I used it to find some places that sell both bottles and growlers of DirtWolf. I'm not sure how far reaching they are, and they definitely aren't comprehensive (the stores need to actively participate) but I'm going to check one of the places it lists that says it has it. About 10 miles from our house.

You playing it? I bought it during the $1 flash sale but doubt I'll ever play it.
I played it some, it's interesting. You start with just a few types of animals but as you play you unlock others. So for instance the herbivores have to sneak around stealthily to get to grass while avoiding all the predators, whereas the carnivores have to catch the weaker animals while avoiding the bigger predators, if you don't eat regularly you die. As you do various things you level up, and if you can survive long enough to mate, you pass along those stat attributes to your offspring as a permanent stat buff for that species. There is also various random shit you can collect to act as "armor" which gives you a few stat buffs when you equip it. That way even if you fail, it feels like you are making a small bit of progress.

That's in survival mode where everything is randomized. There's also a more guided story mode for select animals which is a non-randomized "campaign" for that animal.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... Jeff told everyone a deal was coming at midnight and he's not even online. Mods deleted the thread because the butthurt overfloweth.
I was wondering what everyone was bitching about in that other thread and everything.

Sounds pretty hilarious. People on this site are such children.

Theres also massive backlash in the Amiibo thread. TRU cancelled every preorder they had for future figures, including their exclusive.
Also hilarious. fuck those stupid Amiibos. I mean Skylanders and Disney Infinity features are fucking stupid too (basically just expensive DLC that comes with a toy. Kind of like a DLC Happy Meal) but the Amiibos do even less than that.

So is Sly 1, and it's a piss easy platinum. Dumb to take it out of your backlog.
Its dumber to keep hundreds of games in your backlog that you will never get to play. Yeah, dumber!

Or we should stop calling them backlogs. We could just call them "lists of games I own, approximately 10% of which I will ever get a chance to play."

Hey, shut up... grown men are trying to talk about good games.

Annnnnnnnnnnnd New Vegas just froze on me. What a great game.

Kind of sad when you decide what a good stopping point is by when the game freezes on you.

What constitutes a "high combo rating" is so fuck ing bizarre in this game it must be broken. It's not based on unbroken length of the combo so I'm not sure why they even have the combo hit counter. It's apparently SUPPOSED to be based on how often you change up and do different combos, but that isn't the case either. The way to get the highest combo score (needed for a platinum combo rank) is to kill as few enemies as possible in a level, and to only use one combo: Triangle, triangle, triangle; over and over. I had to figure the person who said that was joking until i did it last night and my combo rating shot up like 10K points.

You played the 4th? Before playing the others?!?!

I liked you better when you were handsome... now you're just some stranger who makes bad decisions.

But yeah, they're pretty much all the same... so pretty much all awesome.

Why do people cut games out of their backlogs?  Is it like a sense of being overwhelmed by them or something?  I mean, even if you're never going to play it, why bother definitely stating that you're never going to play it?  Just don't play it and move on with life.

Or is it like data management on your PS3 hard drive or something?

Seriously though, how much better are the others than sly 4? I don't need to play all of them if sly 4 was a good enough representation of the series.
I started 4 first since that was free on PS+. I only played it for a half hour and it didn't catch my interest at all. It felt like the game just dumped me into things with no real explanation or reason to be interested in what was going on. When I started 1 I got into it immediately since it does a much better job of introducing the characters and story and gameplay. So yeah, I'd definitely recommend giving 1 a try as I think it's a lot more likely to get you into the games.

If its digital you can leave it but maybe classify it on your spreadsheet as a "ginger". Maybe you will play it one day, but not until after you have exhausted any of the cooler options first.

If you have a physical backlog I would think you would want to clear your house of junk. Not all of us have a spare bedroom for our Pez dispensers and random trash bags.

I bought an Angry Birds Pez set from Walmart. It's cool looking.

data management/prioritization. there's stuff I would definitely like to play but it's hard for me to discern what in a list of hundreds.

and since I essentially have at most 10-12 hours a week to play ps3 I like planning ahead so I'm not just poking at shit I already have downloaded trying to decide what to do next.

also, people that have personalities with an innate draw to completionism (like I feel I do) really need shit taken off a list and out of sight.

I use backloggery, and the digital games that I may or may not get too I just mark null. Doesn't add them to your total of games, but it's still a reminder that I have the game if I ever do get time for it. Tokyo Jungle is in this category.

I actually do this. I have a list called 'shit I will never play' that I'm totally disinterested in but own and then the list that is now titled 'gingers' where I might go to someday but probably not.

Data management. There's only so much time in the day and a lot of games get added to the backlog via PS+ or impulse buys during sales. I haven't bothered cutting games previously but have started to give that a lot more consideration for the PS3 titles simply because I'm using the backlog as a reason to put off a PS4 purchase. With that in mind I'm particularly looking at switching my PS3 backlog titles to PC versions where possible, especially for games with very time-consuming trophy lists.

So yeah. It's just an issue of planning and prioritization more than anything else.

I love all the main RC games.  I would say play all but All4One, but if you dont want to play them all just play Into The Nexus since its the prettiest and has all the best parts of the previous games.

Yo.

Not sure if you've bought things for this yet or not, but Cartwheel has a bunch action figures for 30% off today & tomorrow only. Shit like Spiderman & Villains pack and Transformers, and a special today only thing with a Captain America figure for 50%.

https://cartwheel-secure.target.com/search?searchTerm=figures

Also to everyone else, if all my Cartwheel deal updating is getting annoying, let me know and I'll stop. People had seemed interested in other non vidya game deals in the past, which is why I post them. But I realize I've been doing a lot more lately. So yeah. Let me know & I'll shut the ol' pie hole.
thanks man

I am not even the worst one in here. Funny that I get called out on it but every time I go to his twitch channel, there are at least 2 or 3 of you whispering sweet nothings into his ear.
I think every time I've streamed except one I just get randoms and they never chat, presumably because they're pleasuring themselves while admiring my geometry wars skills.

Any of these other Ratchet and Clank games worth ditching / ignoring? And yeah, I know how terrific All 4 One is. I already started it unfortunately, but it might burn in low completion percentage hell due to it being the worst game ever.

Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus™

Ratchet & Clank®

Ratchet & Clank® Future: Quest for Booty

Ratchet & Clank®: Going Commando

Ratchet & Clank®: Up Your Arsenal

edit - yes my fancy spreadsheet is linked to the store.
For the love of everything, play those!

Ok maybe you could do without playing the first one if you can't deal the the lack of strafe, but seriously. The rest are just pure fun, which is the whole point of playing games.

Oh and that "re-imagining" of the first game is coming out for PS4 eventually, so there's that.

I really liked Nexus a lot. I think its my favorite of the series. What say you?

Actually? That's pretty neat. I've played the first two or so on PS2 so I'd just be replaying/playing for tropheeez so I'm ok with nuking them.

Tomb Raider Underworld has been downgraded to ginger status also. Making lots of progress today!
