Yeah I'm all for rebuttals. I found it funny when he passively aggressively dissed Sony in the email, comparing these announcements to the ones at the Sony Experience.
Let's face it, most of us can be classified as Sony fan-boys. With that said, I am not sure there is anyone in the thread who has not criticized Sony on at least some occasion. The majority of Nintendo fan-boys seem to be die hard. You will never hear them say anything is a bad idea if it came from the big N. Anyone who does say anything bad about them immediately gets some sort of remark about their console's screw-up thrown back at them as if it somehow makes Nintendo's screw up OK.

Pulled from another forum. A list of early vita games that didn't require a memory card to play. Not sure if Sony left it up to the devs to use the cart or what. Regardless, the only thing I was arguing is that power is necessary. Once your charge runs out on the new 3ds it's a paperweight, I could keep going with any model vita.

Why did no one tell me?

I've been talking about this for at least a month, and I definitely wasn't the first one to bring it up. Where the hell have you been?

Yeah, everyone is offering preztel crust now on pizzas. Whats up with that? I know some of the folks here said they like it, but why? I would think the pizza is already salty enough. Especially if you have peperoni or some other meat on it. I would rather have a flavored crust like what Hungry Howies has always done and what Pizza Hut started recently. Although I havent eaten the Hut in a long time and probably wont since its not very good.
There's no such thing as too much salt. Unless you're Tyler and it's mixed with milk and coins.

I actually don't even eat the crust on those. They're not really pretzel style anyway. But the Little Caesers pretzel pizza is awesome thanks to the 4 smaller words in that pic "Creamy Cheddar Cheese Sauce". They use some type of liquid cheese on their pretzel pizza and it's really good, and it reheats way better than their standard pizzas.

Derx, if you're fine with an 8gb card, more power to you. I have two 32gbs and whatever doesn't fit on them, gets copied over to the PS3.
Jesus, what the fuck do you put on all that memory? I have 4 or 5 games on my 8GB Vita card and still have room for another small game or two. And I will never fill the 8GB because I cant play more than a game or two at a time anyway.

I was shocked that they left IGN, but I think it was a good move. I'm liking their channel so far.

If you think about it, independent news via youtube is the future of journalism. No special interests - just content that is specifically tailored to the audience that directly funds the channel. These guys can say anything they want to say without worrying about pissing off Micro$oft or Sony. They need to shrug corporate sponsorships and learn to subsist off of patreon subscriptions.

One day mainstream news anchors will go this route.
Do they not run video game advertisements on their Twitch and Youtube videos? Because if they do they'll just be back in the same place they were at IGN. Piss off a publisher too much and they'll lose advertise revenue and access to free/early games.

So all you GTA people, what's the deal with transferring your online character from ps3 to ps4?  Is it just a one way thing?  Do trophies auto pop when you do it?  I have both ps3 and ps4 versions of the game, but I've only played a little of the online on ps3.  Do I want to wait to transfer or does it not matter?

And it's live.

Tried to be fair & balanced (real life version of fair & balanced, not Fox News version). Thanks for the discussion this morning that sparked the idea for me to write it. Lube you all!
Good article, you made a lot of good points. It really bugs me that Nintendo isn't going to make Amiibos usable on normal 3DS XLs. That is a huge fuck you to early adapters, which is really stupid, because most of Nintendo's sales have come from the 3DS consoles/games.

Also LOL at the pushcomes2shove dude that commented on your article, that guy is very butthurt.

I have a 64gb card, and it's full. Still don't have everything downloaded. I keep a ton of stuff on my card though.

I haven't gone back to my mp character(it was 360), but the trophies take a little while to register. I would transfer cause every little bit of rank/money help out.

I'm not defending either from a consumer's point of view. Clearly it's indefensible. Only commented on the business rationale. Accessories have a high profit margin. It's a stealthy way to milk people. Lots of companies do it, including our lord and savior. Not sure what's so difficult to understand here.
Our lord and savior included a charger in my Vita box though.

In response to a moron on Reddit saying the Vita has no games so he's trading his in for a 3DS, I did a bit of research. In NA, Vita has 336 games and 3DS is sitting at 327. This is even though the 3DS came out a year earlier (3/27/11 versus 2/15/12.)
I bought a 2ds in July. Played a few DS games and one lame 3ds game on it. I bet I haven't put 20 hours on it since I bought it.

I've got a feeling you just buy games that you think you'll be interested in and will be good. Stop being such an asshole and buy everything that is on sell at a good price regardless of it's genre and your personal preferences.

Asshole.

He already responded to Tyler. I have read quite a few of Zimm's reviews and never saw a comment before this one!
What's funny is the guy's comment just shows Nintendo having a history of partial upgrades. "Nintendo is awesome! They've been doing shitty system upgrades for years! Look, that one had an extra row of pixels! Awesomesauce!"

The comment system is actually new. Usually they were turned off because the system sucked. I think it started back up a couple weeks ago.

I put in a level-headed response back to his ranting too.

Yeah, the dude has a BIG N HARD ON. Clearly.

He didnt respond to your negative points before posting how great the system is. You didnt say the system sucked. You said the announcement had some curious points to it.

Yeah, from a business sense you've got to give it to Nintendo there. They've been getting idiots to upgrade hardware every couple years for a long time now. They started that long before the shady cell phone makers started doing it.

I transferred my character, a few trophies popped right away. Then I sat in my apartment for about five minutes while I looked online to see why the others weren't popping and then all of a sudden they just started going crazy. So I literally had to do nothing except transfer and go sit in my apartment for a few minutes.

As for how the transfer works, I'd assume it's a one way thing. If you plan to plat the PS3 version, I would just do all the trophies there first.

I'm surprised they're not in trouble (yet) with IGN considering they took two producers with them and how they could be seen as poaching IGN's audience (especially with their twitter handles all over old IGN videos that will now direct you to their new content.)

Holy shit, they're really not making some accessory to get Amiibos working on the old 3DS's? Or has it just not been announced yet?

Anyone else had issues with their posts not posting?  Particularly if your post would be the one that is starting a new page.  Let me know because I just had it happen to me, and I think it might have happened to Zimm earlier today as well...

I want options and not be tied down to one or two games because that's all that fits.

The trasnfer is one way but your PS3 character is still there in the same state as when you trasnfered. Its just that any progress made on PS4 after the transfer is only on PS4 and vice versa.

Except then the audience can become the special interest and they run the risk of tailoring their opinions to match the expectations of the audience, even if that expectation is contrary to fact. IE: if 90% of their audience were Nintendo fanboys they would think long and hard before posting a scathing opinion on a Nintendo core franchise character title. There might even be shades of that in Zimm's writer colleague's decision to write a "scathing" rebuttal of an anti-Nintendo editorial.

I have lots of games I want to fit on my 32 GB card and can't. I really want a 64 GB, but they are too expensive. Needs to come to the US along with a price drop. The proprietary memory is the most aggravating thing about the Vita. 3DS uses standard SD (and now MicroSD). I sure wish Sony would have gone that direction.

JESUS CHRIST, STOTCH! I wasn't asking you, you stupid troll. Go back to watching wrestling.

Thank you to everyone else who responded.

I wouldn't mind playing some on ps4 with people, but I guess that'd be dumb if I want any of the online trophies on ps3...

I think I'm going to buy up a bunch of DSi systems and resell the chargers for that sweet Nintendo money.
