I think the best example of reporters not willing to take shit would be the white house press pool. It's as if they like to watch the current press secretary squirm (the guy is pretty awful at dealing with it) because they're all willing to gang up on him. Eventually they can force enough non-answers out of him that you actually get a sliver of the truth out of it.

It's smart, though. They've outsold PS4 for two months in a row, no need to lose that momentum now. They seem intent on losing money per console if it means building up the brand, same as previous generations.

PS: I like press release statements like this:

"• Xbox 360 became the best-selling seventh generation console of all time in the U.S."

just to see how many different caveats are included.

Zen tables are garbage for the most part, and I don't think I even have it on PSN. But I'd be up for a Pinball Arcade tournament.

Isn't that word "becoming" kind of deceptive?  To "become" the best selling console wouldn't they have to overtake the current leader?  Why couldn't they just use the words "and was" instead?

Of course, and it is a perfect example of a press release statement that will be copied and pasted across every gaming site with no thought to the actual content.

Of course, I don't expect the actual press release to read that they cut the price of their console $150 since launch in order to achieve that "unprecedented holiday season" [citation needed], but it doesn't mean Kotaku or IGN or whomever can't take the time to discuss what the numbers and trends we're seeing actually amount to (like letting companies get away with using units shipped vs units sold interchangeably.)

To be fair, you can't exaclly say they cut the price $150, because $100 of that was removing Kinect. If you buy one with Kinect the price is only $50 lower than launch.

I'm playing it now and it's pretty fun. Very big Earthbound vibe (minus the kids). Some good jokes. Over the top voice acting. Funny abilities. Shit ton of character companions and quests. Limited trophy list.

Will be $14.99.

Sadly, no.

The doctor said they found a polyp and I'll need to get a minor procedure done to remove it. He's also having me try a new medication. Not looking forward to the medical bills...

So early reports are indicating a 100k - 200k different between X1 and PS4 sales, with X1 winning and both consoles coming in over 1mil units.  If/when NeoGAF gets more numbers I'll probably share them.  For now I'm going home!

 
i was just eyeing up citizens earlier today. figures it'd be 14.99, and no plat. i'll wait it out. going to see how long i can go this year without paying full price for a game.(thanks gcu!)

 
I suck at Pinball, but would we be down with a score competition anyway. Pretty sure I have all the Pinball Arcade tables so just name it. Does the ps4 version still not compare friends scores?
 
stupid paypal, had to go through hoops, just to freaking removed my credit card from my account. since i lost my card, and i do not even have any pending transactions on it . it would not allow me to remove my card, so i had to call them. worthless company. i pray amazon buys it out someday. and their cs is supbar at best

Not sure if you noticed my post a few days back about how the wife's dentist lost her licence. Well, the wife was told by our dental insurance that the soonest she could get into another dentist would be February. Apparently the wife didn't switch our dental insurance to something better like I'd thought she had. So she went to a dentist and paid out of pocket. $400 to replace a filling the other dentist fucked up, and a $2600 root canal coming up Monday.

Luckily we have a trip to Rome planned for April and weren't saving for anything.

God fucking dammit.
