Paint brush hands, cracks me up every time.FF7 isn't a good example. It was always an ugly game and has aged the worst by far out of the PS1 FF games.

They are not so bad when they are shooters or melee games which are under 10 hours, particularly if they have different playstyle choices (for instance I used the shotgun a lot more in my 2nd Vanquish playthrough on easy) it's the RPGs that require multiple playthroughs that can become a complete drag due to how long they are.I've also been looking at trophies this morning and discovered that the main reasons I don't 100% a lot of games is multiple playthroughs followed by grinds and a close third is 'hard shit'. This is probably pretty common, but it was fun to see the result. Examples:
I don't mind grinds that I can do while watching justified reruns or something, but if I have to pay too much attention I'll often pass.It always boils down to what you enjoy most. I love God of War so I have all those plats. None were very hard at all as far as I am concerned because I enjoyed them so much. I am sure you have a ton of plats or 100% on games I didnt bother with because I just thought they were okay or I hated them.
Grinds kill me. I will not play GTA for 150 hours to get to level 100. But Gator will. He is nucking futs.
This looks playable. Maybe you didn't have the optimal settings to play the old games on the PS3 or tried to play it before they had some firmware upgrade that made it look better. Remember that FFX video when it looked like shit?I remember trying to play the original Syphon Filter on my PS3. It was so blocky I couldnt even figure out what was going on. And I played the shit out of that game when it came out. It was one of my fav Psone games. I have no idea how we played those games...
It's going to vary per game, obviously, but yeah the screen size does a lot to mask the aging of PS1 games. 3D games are a lot more inclined to look bad, but 2D stuff generally fares well. I'm not saying PS1 games have aged well enough that having them still be playable is the norm. If you want to play a PS1 game, though, Vita is definitely the best official way to do so.Strange. Everyone else hates the visuals, even on Vita, yet Therm says they look good?! WHAT THEIS GOING ON HERE!?!
Did I step into ass backwards world?
That dude even gave up on it by the end of the video. This looks playable. Maybe you didn't have the optimal settings to play the old games on the PS3.

Liked for mentioning Justified. Can't wait for the final season to start.I don't mind grinds that I can do while watching justified reruns or something, but if I have to pay too much attention I'll often pass.
Second playthroughs of most games usually equate to a week or two of gaming time for me so it's really hard to get past that even for games I really like. Like I got my B license in burnout this morning and saw that the A license takes another 36 event wins and I was all 'goddammit burnout.'. But I at least think I'll do it eventually because it's fun as balls.
Wow so bone and ps4 are only 500k apart in US, lead WW is still a few million right? So December numbers in US (apprx.):
X1 - 1.28 mil
PS4 - 1.05 mil
WiiU - 576k
Lifetime numbers in US (apprx.):
PS4 - 6.5 mil
X1 - 6 mil
WiiU - 3.5 mil
I ended up null voting even though I nominated Titan Attacks. I did not have a lot of fun playing that, but I feel like I would enjoy that more than a lot of the others on the list that I have not played. Since I haven't played those I won't vote for them even if a Spelunky vote would be fun just to piss off Tyler.I hate Proteus way more on paper, but I haven't played it so I can't be sure that I hate it more than spelunky.
Oh man, I keep forgetting theres a holiday. Hopefully I can knock out Counterspy PS4, Arkham Origins Blackgate, and Dust this weekend. Already beaten 5 games this year (no plats though) trying to see how many I can knock out this month maybe continue the trend the rest of the year.Just 5.5 more hours until the 3-day weekend starts...
You do know that last orb is only obtainable via a luck of the draw spinning wheel mini-game after collecting all the other ones right?By my calculations, I'm approximately 45 orbs away from collecting them all in Enslaved. The thing that makes that a pain in the ass is they're spread out over 4 levels (though I think 30 of them are in one level).
Maybe I'll get the plat today or tomorrow.
Yup, it's actually a little bit less than 500k in the US. The Xboner firesale definitely worked here in the US.Wow so bone and ps4 are only 500k apart in US, lead WW is still a few million right?
Because you're making assumptions of sales based on the game's position on a top 10 list without having any actual numbers to go on. There's roughly 10x more PS3s sold than PS4s so the number of copies sold on PS3 are going to well outnumber the PS4 copies despite the #4 ranking vs the #1 ranking.Top PS sellers of 2014:

What's funny is Destiny is on the PS4 list at #1, but #4 on PS3. I guess people didn't realize buying the PS3 version was the better way to go.
That sounds super fun!!!You do know that last orb is only obtainable via a luck of the draw spinning wheel mini-game after collecting all the other ones right?
Why would they? When is Sony going to announce their price cut to $349.99?
Because they are catching up, are very close, and with a continued $350 price tag it seems like they will soon take the lead in the US.Why would they?
Not like ms is killing them, they are barely beating the them the last 2 months.
I'm stating that every person who bought it on PSN for PS4 would have gotten more for their purchase if they bought the PS3 version. The only assumption I'm making is that buying the PS3 version doesn't add to the PS4 sales figures.Because you're making assumptions of sales based on the game's position on a top 10 list without having any actual numbers to go on. There's roughly 10x more PS3s sold than PS4s so the number of copies sold on PS3 are going to well outnumber the PS4 copies despite the #4 ranking vs the #1 ranking.
LOTS of people who might have bought it, wouldn't buy it because they announced so far ahead that they were going to give out a slightly gimped version free for PS+. Their online code being absolute shit probably didn't help matters either as that created a ton of bad press making people think the single player was equally broken, which it apparently isn't.Lifetime to date (LTD) Software sales in US:
WiiU:
Donkey Kong Country - 440k
Hyrule Warriors - 370k
Toad's Treasure Tracker - 250k
Bayonetta 2 - less than 135k
X1:
Forza Horizon 2 - 325k
Sunset Overdrive - 280k
PS4:
Second Son - 800k
Last of Us - 650k
LBP3 - 240k
Driveclub - 84k
Poor Bayonetta, though I can't really say I feel bad for them. Sunset Overdrive number is a bit low to me, as an X1 exclusive I thought it would have had a bit more support from xboner fans. I wonder if it's enough for Insomniac to consider keeping the franchise alive. Driveclub only doing 25% of what Forza did is pretty pathetic.
A few months after holidays are over and they can see whether the trend of XB1 selling better will continue, I'd imagine. When is Sony going to announce their price cut to $349.99?
MS can afford to lose money on their systems, Sony cant.Because they are catching up, are very close, and with a continued $350 price tag it seems like they will soon take the lead in the US.
Shut theYou do know that last orb is only obtainable via a luck of the draw spinning wheel mini-game after collecting all the other ones right?
I think its roughly 2:1 worldwide in PS favor. I see people floating numbers of 9-10 million for X1 WW and 18.5-19 mil for PS WW. We know the Sony number is sold through, but the X1 prediction is GAF speculation based on different reports throughout the year.WW should be a few million at least. I've got to think the lead is still growing.
Until today they were the same thing. Buy the PS3 version on PSN and get the PS4 version. Or vise versa. It was effectively cross buy. Price was the same. I think I bought the PS3 version actually.I'm stating that every person who bought it on PSN for PS4 would have gotten more for their purchase if they bought the PS3 version. The only assumption I'm making is that buying the PS3 version doesn't add to the PS4 sales figures.
Well the xbox numbers are even more sketchy WW as dont they use "shipped" vs sony who reports "sold through"?I think its roughly 2:1 worldwide in PS favor. I see people floating numbers of 9-10 million for X1 WW and 18.5-19 mil for PS WW. We know the Sony number is sold through, but the X1 prediction is GAF speculation based on different reports throughout the year.
I'm really disappointed that this will never come to PS4. It is a really good game too, I thought Platinum might take some shortcuts or use a low budget, but I have to say it is a really awesome game.Poor Bayonetta, though I can't really say I feel bad for them.
You're right that you can't compare the two lists but you're wrong to think Destiny sold better on PS3. Even if you exclude all the bundled copies, Destiny on PS4 still sold better than Destiny on PS3 at retail. No reason to think digital would be any different.Because you're making assumptions of sales based on the game's position on a top 10 list without having any actual numbers to go on. There's roughly 10x more PS3s sold than PS4s so the number of copies sold on PS3 are going to well outnumber the PS4 copies despite the #4 ranking vs the #1 ranking.
Exclusives generally don't sell all that well on Xbox unless they're shooters. It's probably the reason they got out of the exclusives game last gen and will probably do it again this gen. This also confirms what I've thought for awhile, xbox users buy primarily multi-platform games. I mean even the extremely buggy LBP3 sold 3/4ths of one of Microsoft's flagship titles, and Forza Horizon 2 had a 1.75 month head start.
So because they were giving a free game away for buying it on PS3, you don't think they're still going to sell a shitload on PS4?I'm stating that every person who bought it on PSN for PS4 would have gotten more for their purchase if they bought the PS3 version. The only assumption I'm making is that buying the PS3 version doesn't add to the PS4 sales figures.
That just seems backwards to me. Not saying you aren't right; you are the stat man after all. Maybe because it was pushed so much more for PS4?You're right that you can't compare the two lists but you're wrong to think Destiny sold better on PS3. Even if you exclude all the bundled copies, Destiny on PS4 still sold better than Destiny on PS3 at retail. No reason to think digital would be any different.
I could be remembering wrong, but pretty sure Activision confirmed their internal numbers showed PS4 was the system with the most Destiny sales back in September. Dont think it would have changed since then. That just seems backwards to me. Not saying you aren't right; you are the stat man after all. Maybe because it was pushed so much more for PS4?
Who gives a shit I already have one. The real question is when will they make a smaller more compact one that looks like a hexagon instead of sharp triangles? 3rd iteration will probably be oval and spaceship like. When is Sony going to announce their price cut to $349.99?
I think everyone just wants the latest and greatest. Check out the chart below, it's quite interesting. The order of consoles in parentheses is from highest sales to lowest sales. That just seems backwards to me. Not saying you aren't right; you are the stat man after all. Maybe because it was pushed so much more for PS4?
Someone finally drafted a thread mission statement. There's no way to avoid the echo chamber without removing the ability to choose what you surround yourself with. People hang out with people with similar viewpoints and interests, watch movies and TV shows that agree with their world view, and prefer to hear the opinions of people they agree with.
The echo chamber effect is really just a consequence of the advancement of communication. Previously you were stuck talking to the assholes in your immediate area whether they agreed with you on throwing rocks at gay people and blacks or not, but with 5000 television channels anybody can find their own echo chamber. The same is true of the internet allowing any viewpoint, no matter how niche, to find supporters enough to provide the illusion of legitimacy.

X1 - 1.28 mil
PS4 - 1.05 mil
