Not that I've seen--the only "deal" it had was when Best Buy listed the CE at $59.99. Maybe you should wait another week or so to see if they'll add a $10 GC or something?

I was on top when I checked yesterday. Before about July I wasn't going for trophies at all. Since then I've gotten ~43k of my 48k points. 35k of my points were from the July to December of last year--your total for last year was 18.5k.

Honestly I wasn't even considering you as anything other than TT road kill.

Thanks as always, Pete. Did we ever decide on an end point for this? I feel like 5 weeks was thrown out at some point. My thinking is that this is pretty fun and that we should start the next competition right after. Play through all of the season 1 and 2 tables I say. I don't think we would need you to do this spreadsheet business each time, though, since it can probably be a pain in the ass.

No skin off my back, either I'd be doing my job or updating that spreadsheet. Guess which one I'd rather be doing.

I'll say 2/22 is the last day for this round. We'll take a bye week and start it up again in March (hopefully with some newcomers).
 
I think I'm going to take a break from Dying Light until the game-breaking bugs and online-disconnection errors are addressed by the developers.

 
Gator, I had the Duvel yesterday.  I didnt really like it.  I drank it and its nice and strong, but meh, too "bitter".  I'll keep trying new stuff when I can though.  Its exciting!

Not really. I had a lot of fun with the Dying Light co-op we were able to do, and a lot of the MW talk I've read here (mainly about modifying cars, which I don't usually like in my racing games, instead preferring the Burnout-style just-pick-a-car-and-use-it approach) has kind of discouraged me from starting it just yet.

 
The Order 1886 looks really cool. I'm excited to play it... next year, when I have a PS4.

Sorry about that. I was worried if it would be a bit too much but after you liking the others I thought it was worth a try. Keep the leftovers in the fridge. They will last a long time. You mind find you like it more in a couple months if you keep trying other stuff.

The upgrade things are really minimal. You get most of the upgrades from just winning the races you have to win in each car. The pro versions just take using the regular version for a while. I am usually the same way about the upgrades stuff, but I think this one does it pretty well. Although, ask me again after I work my way up to try that final race I need again.

 
I have no idea why they even had it at my job, but they had a Super Nintendo with 3 games (Super Mario World open with manual, SmartBall sealed, and Extra Innings sealed) that they were just going to throw out.  I guess I will be adding another retro console to the collection of them in my kids room.  In fact, he will have every Nintendo console in there except the NES and the Wii U (which we have downstairs).

They also had a portable DVD player as well.  The screen is super tiny, but it is NIB and I am sure my kids will use it once their current ones die.

Nice glad I preordered it at Best Buy by job. Pick it up on my lunch hour. Easier then driving to the one at the mall by me on a Friday.

I just looked on ebay, do people really pay $200+ for NIB versions of old SNES games? There are listings for each of those 2 games in that price range. I am guessing they are just listings and do not really sell for that right?

Some of the people that moved in with us after we got bought by Pace were old Philips employees that were also gobbled up by Pace long ago. That explains the Philips DVD player. They made the original DirecTv set top boxes. I can only assume they used the SNES for occasional testing for a device hooked up to the set top to pass through to the TV. In other words, it was probably barely used at all. It is in really good shape. It doesn't look like they ever even took the twist tie off the cord for the controller.

Thanks again man. I do enjoy that Chewy upped everyone's handicap with his dick-wagging final Attack from Mars score..

Also, firing up Cirqus last night, I remembered how much I hate the shitty outlanes and big-ass flipper gap. Makes for quick multi-ball sessions. I did put up a 51M spot last night and I know I can improve on that. Game on y'all.

You should always check completed listings to see what something is actually selling for. Collectors tend to overvalue their games but there is a rich impulsive sucker out there if you are patient enough to fish for them.

I forgot the checking completed listings trick since I so rarely ever even look at eBay and have never sold anything on it. I was too busy being shocked by those 2 listings. The one for SmartBall had 3 watchers. Granted, it was a graded NIB version.

You should definitely list them, undercut the existing listings by $20 and see what happens. Being able to take pictures of the box being sealed and not a hot mess is just as good/better than it being graded. Think of all the beer/gamefly you could buy with that sweet wad of cash.

That does explain why it was likely there. I'm still perplexed by there being two brand new games as well.

Futurepress does a pretty good job on the Souls guides, though From Software usually ends up doing balancing patches a few months after release that changes the values on a lot of the armors and some of the weapon damage so that the information will no longer be accurate.

This isn't a situation that has anything to do with the normal resell/phantom slot thing, though. There's two things that Sony could do to address this:

  1. Remove the game from download lists. This would only affect the ability to download the game in the future--current download/installs would remain intact. This would be like a phantom, kind of, in that the copy on your HDD is the only copy you have and it cannot be restored. The way a phantom works is pretty different in the details, but the effect is the same as this setup.
  2. Disable/yank the game from people's systems. Each downloaded copy of a game is tied to the PSN account that was used to download it. Sony could, if they wished, flag those game copies on PSN to prevent online play or they could trigger a remote delete on PS4s with the game installed when that criteria is met.
Obviously option #2 would cause huge amounts of bad press and pissed off customers. If they're going to address this instead of just letting it slide, #1 would be the more reasonable path to take.

The games are both made by Sony. I know Sony and Philips were working together with the CD based gaming systems around the end of the SNES era. Maybe that was why the Philips guys had copies of those 2 games. Who knows?

 
The funny thing about the GS Dying Light copy is that people would have no path to refund or whatever at all if it happened. It's not like you could go to GS after your copy of DL was taken and say "I want a refund--the copy of Dying Light I didn't buy got taken away from me, and that's not what I paid for!"

People would bitch for sure, though, leg to stand on or not.
