I love a Destiny. That's why I still play for a few hours every day, even though I keep saying I need to cut back. But some people take the shit way too fucking seriously and don't understand that it's just a video game. The people playing the game turn me away from it more than the actual game.

early thoughts on The Order:

  • A lot of cutscenes so far (only played through chapter 3)
  • I have absolutely no fucking idea what the story is supposed to be other than it's in 1886
  • Enemy kills count even when you die (I got the 75 pistol kill in chapter 3)
  • Blacksight is pretty bad with early weapons at least, as it switches between body limbs instead of different enemies
  • Collectibles are easy to obtain if you follow a guide
  • No way to track collectibles, so you better hope you dont miss one!
  • It will be fun to hopefully plat this weekend

Well'p just finished Danganronpa  so that's one off my official 4 for feb list. I'll probably end up waiting to pick up the second one until the new one they announced comes out. Pretty sure the first was on sale for ~$20 when the second came out. Gonna take a step back from the plat and try to finish Dust and Transistor before the month is done though. Definitely would have voted it top vita game of the year for 2014 if I had actually gotten around to playing it then lol.

Pinball beer selections from tonight. Started with trusty Troegs Nugget Nectar imperial double red ale. 2nd beer was a new one for me, Starr Hill Little Red Roostarr coffee cream stout. I'm not a stout expert, but I thought it was pretty good.

The only time glitching bothers me is when it's over something competitive. If I'm going up against someone and they somehow have an unfair advantage over me because they cheated then I'm going to understandably be a little pissed, but sp/co-op.... who gives a shit?

And it's not like that guy was on some holy crusade to teach a cheater a lesson... he was just plain being an asshole. I have a bigger issue with pricks like him than I do with any cheaters. fuck that guy.
You could argue that glitching levels helps out in Iron Banner, the major Destiny PvP event where level matters.

I hope the kid's parents took this opportunity to teach him two important life lessons: don't look for the easy way out and never trust someone you only know from the Internet, regardless of how long you've known him/her.

You can mark that as finished for my 4 for Feb (base game anyway), on to Papo Y Yo.

Da fuq. Is that really from the game?
Yes, all the races have animated intros to be flashy (and probably partially to mask loading screens) but they are just kind of annoying when you have to keep retrying a race, as even when you select to skip them you still have to see the first 2-3 seconds or so before you have the option to skip and the last 6-8 seconds of the intro after you press select to skip before you regain control.

"major Destiny PvP"? I'm not sure how much Iron Banner has changed from when I left, but back then it was a joke (not to mention an insult to the players that had been waiting for it). It wasn't anything like what the devs had advertised it to be and I'm sure you've seen the vids of players going in there with low level characters/shit guns and destroying everyone. Since you brought it up, I assume there's been a complete overhaul with that mode?

It's changed a lot since the first one. They changed everything about it immediately after that first event.

Damn, it's like back in the day when you'd get super far in a game you can't save on, then the power goes out or the game freezes and you lose everything!
Yeah except in that case, it wasn't a grown adult being a complete dickhead to a little kid because it makes that adult feel better about his life being completely worthless and pathetic.

Damn. How does Aabs Animals not have 100% completion rate among all players? Did someone really not leave the game on for like 3 minutes before saying, "Holy shit I wasted my money!"

Some dumb bitch just left me neutral feedback on eBay because she said she won the auction but I just refunded her money without saying why.  What I actually did was refund her $2.00 with a note saying that she paid me too much for shipping (since she bought multiple items but didn't wait for an invoice).  That's what I get for doing the right thing.

GG. I haven't received feedback on my sale yet. The packaged arrived on monday. Hopefully they're just like me and forget to give feedback at all.

Dang. Brothers.

That was some fucked up stuff. I kept waiting for him to wake up. I thought "There has to be some magic shit." But there was no magic shit. And then they make you put him in the ground and bury him. Wow. I dedicate my left stick and L2 to you, Blue Brother. It was a short but fun ride.

Great game.

I want to like Road Not Taken. I love the at style, I love the theme, I love what the game is trying to do... I just don't like the actual game and that really disappoints me because I want to like it very badly.

I was terrible at Triple Town and I'm terrible at the same basic puzzling here. I wish it was just a standard dungeon crawling roguelike instead of what it is. Or at least gone the route of many of it's contemporaries that are using failed runs to slowly strengthen you before bearing you down again. A good roguelike part of the fun is in dying and that one more run mentality it breeds but here is just brutal and crushing.

Went from wanting to 100% this one to just wanting to finish one career to feeling like it's probably going into my list of abandoned games.

Good playthrough on inFamous 2 has been completed, and with it so is my 4forFeb.

I'll start up bonus game Far Cry 3 tomorrow and hopefully knock that out in the 8 days left. Might need a co-op buddy for some plat stylings later if peeps are interested.

You should trick her in to logging you in to her bank account and steal all her money. That'd teach her a lesson!

My husband has somehow convinced me to negotiate a deal to order him a STI

I don't know how the fuck this happened

(I already know someone is going to edit that to say STD too lol)
What is an STI?

Edit; Found out when I got caught up. He gets a car, you get a PS4? That seems fair.

Well, just as I've echoed Topside's thoughts on Destiny you've pretty much mirrored mine to the letter on Road Not Taken. Its absolutely bursting with personality but just doesn't know how to hold a meaningful conversation.

Nice! How long did that third island end up taking you?

Working on it. I got a few sites unblocked the other day, so progress has been made.

To do my part about talking about the Order 1886, played about an hour of it this morning. Lots of walking. Lots of talking. QTEs at the very beginning. Look at some stuff. Little shooty shooty.

Found this info on Danganronpa: Another Episode's gameplay on GFaqs:

It's just as one of the devs implied "it's a story about the deepening friendship of Komaru and Touko". There weren't any major plotwists like the other games, just minor ones and the biggest one was kind of obvious. Also for a game happening between 1 and 2 they don't bother filling up the void between the games so you can just treat the game as standalone story without any major impacts in both games(save for a few things on the end). The ending also adds more loose ends than settles them.

The gameplay is more puzzle oriented than an actual action game since the game keeps throwing puzzles at you every corner and action-wise the game is really unbalanced and easy.

Exampes:
- Two of the Monokumas are just there to be used as tools to clear up monokumas even faster(siren and ball)
- Genocider is insanely overpowered, she dals massive damage and she takes no damage. Since there isn't any kind of cooldown when you're switcing between komaru and her you can just switch to her if you feel like you're going to take any kind of damage.
- Healing items drops way too much to the point that health manageament isn't an issue.
- Bullets have travel time and aiming is kind of a pain in the ass.
- Bosses for the most of the part are just dodge -> make them open up their weak spot -> switch to Touko -> massive damage.
- Some types of bullets are insanely overpowered, fire can stunlock beast monokumas which are supposed to be the strongest mob in the game, dance can turn siren and ball monokumas into AOE massive destruction tools.
- Monokumas get stunned by anything so even if you don't get to "headshot them" hitting them once is enough to make them stagger and stop their movement.

I'm...not all that excited for it now.
