Replaced by netgear and asus apparently.

Although the "11 years in the making" WRT is out now.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/promo/linksys-wrt-router-119985
5 years ago when i was getting my linskys model, i was about to get this one http://www.amazon.com/Linksys-WRT54GL-Wireless-G-Broadband-Router/dp/B000BTL0OA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1424582792&sr=8-2&keywords=Linksys+WRT.

it looks similar to the model you posted from the bestbuy link. but it looks really ugly tho.

i hate routers with antennas, even though i know they are suppose to help.

What the fuck are you guys doing to your routers that they die in two years? I got a free one from the FCC in like 2009 for participating in their broadband studies, and it still works fine to this day. The one I had before that I got, I had for years and only stopped using since this was an upgrade.

probably bricking it with firmware, that is most common method

Then that's pretty dumb of them. I never upgrade firmware on any device without looking around to make sure it's not doing more harm than good. Who the hell just blindly updates things?
i used to do that when i got my first ever computer. now i don't fuck around with the updates by software developers, since half the time, it just creates problem, because they rushed out the updates, trying to meet quotas. my motto has become if it ain't broke, don't fix it. especially windows updates. microsoft really went downhill, since bill gates left

Zimm never did answer whether the BB PS4/PSV bundle can be price-matched at Target. If it could, that'd be the way to go--combine the PM with the 10% off coupon from Carthweel to save yourself $40. Then get another game or two. :)
I doubt it can be. Usually physical add-ons/extras (like gift cards) won't be honored for price matching. Sometimes a dum manager will let it happen, but usual practice is just to match prices, not bundle things.

the only reason i can think of is you guys live in big houses, that is why i said rich. i live in a rented studio apartment. i am literally only one door away from my router placement.
I got the Netgear Nighthawk because I have a two-story apartment and need good range, but also because Twitch streaming is part of my job (although an unpaid part) and I need really good performance from the router. Also, routers often break pretty quickly (and not because of abuse or bad firmware flashes) so I got the 2-year replacement plan. And I used a mover's coupon for ten percent off. :)

the most i spend was for this modem for a networking purpose

Motorola - SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 High-Speed Cable Modem - Silver
I have that modem too!

Is the Syberia series on PC any good? This listing recently popped up on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ICWO2SY/
If you like adventure games, the first Syberia is very good. Nothing has an atmosphere and world quite like it. I never got to play the second one. Doesn't hurt to prepare since Syberia 3 will come to consoles as well as PC.

Damn, the OOP MST3K set I ordered used from hastings, one of the discs has a small crack on the inner ring of the disc. Anything I can do to stop that from spreading?
I don't know, but I would rip it to PC to be safe.

Still don't understand how you can play and beat a game within a few days of getting it. I'm always thinking to myself "I've been playing this too long, I better take a break so it lasts."

Gator. I've had a raspberry and apple Belgian Lambic recently. Both were good but lacking on the alcohol content.
Savoring games is generally better but 1 - it really is pretty short and 2 - everyone here seems to have the intention of trading it in right away, so the quicker the better for trade-in value. Me, I would never rush through a game that fast, but I don't trade games in either.

My approach to updates is to only install them when doing an OS install. I'll get everything up to date and then turn all updates off. Same for Windows and all applications. If I'm having a problem with something I'll look into the available updates for a fix, but I'm not going to blindly let a bunch of assholes trigger installs and reboots on my system.

If you like the Portal gameplay and can put up with a relatively dumb story line (so far at least) to go with it, you should definitely pick up Magrunner for $1.50 before Tuesday.

It looks like it might not be that much longer than The Order, but it is pretty much all good gameplay.
And at only 1/40th the price!

I don't appreciate you guys bullying me.
Shut your fat mouth, fatty.

Am I doing it right?

eu... http://www.truetrophies.com/n3658/huge-psn-europe-sale.htm

maybe a vita bday sale for us this week though?
Would be nice but those prices relative to our currency would be butt. That and we had almost all those games on sale in the last month or so which makes me think it's a bit less likely. Would be nice though if we did and it was rock bottom prices.

Yes, they're good old school adventure games.

So best buy was saying there was only 1 minute left for this weeks weekly ad, now that time has passed and the ad still shows last weeks….huh…guess I'll play the waiting game.
BBY updates at 1 AM EST and even then stuff rarely is 100% updated or functional right at 1 AM. Should be starting to tick over as I post this.

You know there's settings to just have it notify you and not do it on it's own, right?

Oh boo that sucks

Thanks for letting me know Eld

I think I'm driving my husband crazy cause I keep refreshing the best buy page and then I look like this when the ad still shows last week -> :twoguns:

Anyone else notice tyler "liked" this post?

Oh and cleaner did too.

They both like dicks!
That just means we like dildos. Big difference.

I've still got a long way to go before completing all the different sets so I'll definitely keep it up. Been checking the market about 3-4 times a day so far. :)
I'll try to check more regularly. Probably in the evening/night I can update a few times. Haven't had any luck so far. That expiration time sucks. I just updated right.

Does completing the web game Monster High Secret Creepers Adventure count towards the 4 for Feb? (Co-op with a very loud 7 year old)
Any game on any platform counts so yes it does.

damn you guys are rich, i would never spend $100 for a router. i am still using the linksys router i got for $29.99 five years ago.
I got a great deal when I moved here about 10 years or so ago. Circuit City had a deal with Cox where if you bought networking equipment and activated through them you got a nice rebate. I paid less than $100 for my Motorola modem and Linksys router and they're both still working.

Late last year I decided to upgrade the router since I got a great deal. I'm hoping to upgrade the modem later this year. I figure it's a good time to jump on the newer tech since I upgraded my internet speed last year too and have a lot more wireless devices than obviously a decade ago.

Wild fermented beers like lambics generally do not have high alcohol content. The wild yeast strains are just not as resistant to alcohol as a lot of the other ones that have been engineered to survive in higher concentrations of alcohol.
The flavor wad fine but i might have just been drinking fruit juice

Would anyone here be interested in adding PSABR to the boosting doc?  I remember a few of us mentioning it this week and I think after I knock out Lego Batman 3 I'd like to go for the plat.

I generally don't like to race through most games either. But until recently I wasn't really playing many games. Just Destiny. I have games I want to play and bought a bunch more around the holidays and during various PSN sales. Finally decided to play some other games. Played FC4 on PS4. Then the 4forFeb challenge thing. Finally a competition I could actually do ok at. If it was 4 plats or something I wouldn't have bothered. Played 5 more games 2 were standalone DLC games so not to long to play through. I had started BL 1.5 but didn't get too far and wasn't really into it. But decided to give in another try. Got through it and traded it. Probably re buy it when it comes out on PS4. But honestly probably more for BL2 then the Pre Sequel.

I was very excited for 1886 but as news came out it was fairly short and single player only I knew I didn't want to pay a lot to play it but still wanted to play it. With UC3 I played a ton of co op hours with the game and played through the campaign a few times. With 1886 I have no desire to play it again or anything. I enjoyed it and would check out the sequel if/when it comes out. If there was some compelling CO-OP or multiplayer I could see me taking my time with the game and holding on to it longer.

So for me playing through it quickly for less then $10 was better then waiting months (probably) till it was on sale for $20 or less. It just wasn't worth full retail to me. Most games aren't but this one certainly wasn't.

There's a 30% bonus on in-store trade-ins at Best Buy this week. The Order's base is still $40 so you'd get $56 w/ GCU, but I seriously doubt that will last.

Yeah the base will drop tomorrow for sure. Stayed up too late to get there when they open. On the east coast I think a few times people catch it before the base drops. Plus I might go for some more trophies maybe tomorrow.

Do you happen to use time warners cable, and rent a modem from them? that is the one reason i got one, because they charge just $6-7 each month to rent a modem from them

Yeah, it's probably going to drop to $30 which makes it $2 less in the end.

speaking of circuit city, i need to hit up my local radioshacks for clearance sales, since they are going bankrupt like them

In consumer-grade modems and routers, you end up paying more that way in the long run. But the advantage is they have to replace the equipment if it breaks. Tyler rents his stuff too, I hear.

Like I said, I just need stronger equipment than the default stuff. Upgrading to a $100+ router and newer modem will generally get most users measurably higher download and upload speeds. But radius is a big deal to me as well since we used to get weaker signals upstairs.

Also, you can share files and media in your home network wayyyy faster with an AC router than you could a Wireless G or N router (assuming any of your devices support the better tech), but not everybody needs to do that.

Phew, Order is going to survive the 30% bonus drop and still make me $44+ in the morning.  Nice.

I didn't realize they had a weekly trade in bonus this week otherwise I would have traded in the game today.

I've had my own modem as long as I've had broadband and considering that until about two years ago Comcast gave you the same old black Motorola Surfboard modem that I got for free around 8-10 years ago for signing up for Cable at BBY it generally doesn't seem particularly worth it to rent. Even more so because that modem finally kicked it about two months ago and I picked up a refurbished SB6141 for $55. At modem rental prices if it lasts a year it's already paid off and then it's paying me back.

In other news eastx was willing to sit through like 40 minutes of cutscenes half way through The Order but got to see me pick up two gold trophies at least. Fortunately the collectibles are fairly distinct at least if you're paying attention so I was able to watch the videos for the chapters I had already played and mark off my list. Only missed three in chapter 3 so far which should make clean up much easier.

You got more myBestBuy points, though.
And more progress towards next year's Elite status.

So I started Warframe because it was like 20 gig and I thought I will just play for a day and then delete it, but it actually is pretty fun once you get past the 20 hour or so mark. lol. Just this week iv been doing new things like syndicate missions and I finally have a new warframe suit based on fire and leveling up weapons not needed for the 100% and tearing things up. It is pretty awesome for a free to play game. I told my girl I started playing it to delete it but now even after I beat it I might keep it just cuz im so invested in it. lol idk. peace all and hope every one is well.

wow also im so slow at vita games cuz i don't commute anymore. it took me 3 weeks to beat the 5 hour resistance game.

also it sucks all of my Danganronpa trophies show missing timestamp because I didn't connect the vita tv online before I beat the game. i guess.

Get another Vita and set the kids to work. You can have 3 on one account.

Dear diary,
Got my 44.80 in bb credit.
If you want to try to get more, I posted this in the target thread, which apparently was too complicated for some dipshits to understand. Target has a B1G1 on Ubisoft games this week, including Far Cry 4 and The Crew. Best Buy has those titles on sale for $40 each this week so you should be able to PM those at Target and stack the B1G1. With the 30% bonus and 10% Gamers Club, The Crew will trade in for about $27 and Far Cry 4 will trade in for $28. It's not a bad flip of $7-$8 per title.

I started Final Horizon yesterday and will probably have the plat today.  Has all the makings of a decent tower defense game, but definitely a little easier than most.  To those of you that haven't started it up yet, it will have probably taken me around 10 hours to complete when it's all said and done so it's not much of a time investment.

I'm finally reading GameInformer's Uncharted 4 cover story. They mentioned how some of the treasure collectibles have clues when you examine them that lead to more treasures in the environment. Your journal is dynamic and updates with the clues. It sounds similar to the Red Dead Redemption treasure maps in a way.

I'm sure we all saw the teaser during PSX. The graphics are gorgeous. Of course those and the animations have been upgraded. They talk about that a bit. Like how the wind affects Drake's chest hair lol.

They're making the game more open. Of course that's why you can use the pick and rope now. There sure be other new items.

I didn't realize Troy Baker plays his older brother Sam. It'll go into their complicated relationship and how bringing Drake back into the game causes issues with Elena and Sully.
