That isn't a way to get interest from wren, but it definitely works for me. So jealous...
This isn't at my neighborhood bar this time, but at a bar my buddy works at downtown mke. I told him to let me know when they get it and I'll be guzzling that keg down. I shouldn't have to pay $10/ glass there either like the other bar.

I am so glad I dont follow anything on social media.  I look up a tweet here and there from different comedians or local radio people.  I really only look at the dirty pics they post.  I rarely read any of the garbage people post.  It isnt worth it.

I only knew of the dress thing because it was on the news this morning.  Then I came in here...

You know Three Floyd's is only about 2 hours away, right? The food there is top notch too. If I lived that close I would probably go at least once a month. Every time I go to the midwest I find a way to work in a stop there.

Have you tried Dreadnaught? If not, you definitely should. Apocalypse Cow and Arctic Panzer Wolf are 2 others not to be missed. They all have higher alcohol contents and higher concentrations of hops too.

I really do need to take a trip there. All I've had from them is ZD, gumballhead, Alpha King that are all great, then Pride and joy which wasn't as great. They have yum yum I haven't tried at my neighborhood bar right now

Really long 4ForFeb post below with ideas about possibly doing more or an ongoing competition for the year. Feedback requested. I spoilered it due to length and for people who don't care.

I'd rather we had another 4forFeb type thing in March, instead of a Mop Up March. I'm sure I will be outvoted, so I'll just wait for April…. Plus by then I should have PuyoPuyo Tetris! That's definitely going on my list.
Maybe Tyler can setup a poll to see what people want.

The rules for 4ForFeb was that there were no rules. I am not sure why we couldn't just do that again and people can make it whatever 4 games for whatever reason they want them to be. Does it really matter if it has a catchy name?

And if Cleaner doesn't want to bother with tracking anything, then there is always this too....
We can definitely continue if people enjoyed it that much.

I don't know about you guys, but a big motivator for me was that Cleaner mentioned prizes of some sort (though I might be wrong).

#slimeball
There will be a prize. I've set a budget and am deciding how to count entries and decide the winner. I'm thinking maybe 1 entry per completed game, max entries 5 (4 + 1 bonus; sorry Gator). I would then need to find a program that would choose the random winner. Any suggestions?

I think Cleaner mentioned she got the 4forFeb thing from Joystiq but NeoGAF does it every month as well.

I joined but it's not really for me, I don't need that extra motivation to complete games like some of you do (if I get through Rollers of the Realm it will be my 9th game this month). But it's super easy to keep it going on a monthly basis. We'll just put a link to it in the OP. Only difference is I will make the file public so that you can all do your own editing instead of a singe person having to do it all.

But if a lot of you want to keep going with a similar thing in the future months, let me know.
Yeah, I found it through Joystiq last year and they reminded me again this year.

The competition obviously isn't for everyone. I enjoyed it. If people want you to put a public spreadsheet in the OP for friendly competition then I'm cool with that.

I'm thinking maybe you can put a poll in to see if people want to continue with the competition. Maybe:

A) Continue doing a "complete 4 games in a month" competition. We could keep a tally over the year and in December we could have a prize drawing.

B) Continue with a monthly competition but have a different theme each month (example: Mop-up March). No catchy name required. But if we switch it up maybe some people might not like or have time for the current month's theme but want to participate during a different month. Each will be a new opportunity. The only thing is I hope this won't interfere with TIT/CLIT.

C) fuck it. 4ForFeb was unique and will not continue. It was fun while it lasted.

Personally, I like B. I know I won't really be able to do much in March since I'll be on vacation for about a week and be out of town. I enjoyed seeing people motivated, myself included. Realistically I won't be able to beat 4 games every month unless they were short. Yet it was great working through the backlog. I think we could come up with more fun ways to have friendly community competitions. Basically, we don't have to have a guaranteed competition every month, but if someone suggested a fun new idea I'd be down for that.

The main thing is everyone should be having fun. No one should feel obligated or like it's a chore. That's why, like Gator mentioned above, there really weren't rules. This month anyone could change their games at any time. If people want a more structured competition then we can set rules for prizes.

So I've been doing some casual brainstorming today about the 4 for February thing. For me I absolutely love it because it motivated me to stick with stuff and finish more games than I normally would have. If we continue to do it in March and onward then I could see people growing less interested in it over time and so while I was driving today it came to me that maybe it would be neat if we took the current format and maybe rolled it into something bigger. Take that format and wrap something around it to tie it all together and keep people coming back each month. My initial thoughts are something kind of between a fantasy league and a contest.

So we would start maybe with April and go through the end of the year so you have a round nine months. Then everyone who wanted to participate would commit and we would go on picking four a month to play. Then at the end of the year we could scrounge up some prize and do a random drawing among everyone that hit a certain percentage of completing their selected games. Wouldn't want to just do 100% people because it's the honor system and it would ruin the fun if people are just lying or picked two hours games so maybe like 75% or something.

Could probably even add some wrinkles on top of to modify you chance of winning (like the number of plats you get) or platform/generational challenges, fold the TiT challenge into it stuff like that. Something that could be neat is if you have a console you were so backlogged on you don't know where to start and aren't playing (like me and PS3) you could submit a list of your games on that platform and leave one of your choices that month to fate. Could do something like a $1 or $2 buy in for some of the side things like that too and then be able to draw a couple decent prizes if there were enough people. Maybe even find a way to work in some sort of merit based champion as well (again by possibly integrating something like the TiT) and have a prize for that.

I don't know, I think something like that sounds really compelling. Maybe no one else does or would want to participate or thinks this sounds like a terrible idea of a mad man. With 23 people having completed at least two of their games this month though maybe there would be enough interest.
I like your suggestions. If we did do a monthly tally I think it'd be awesome if we had a big prize at the end with runners-up. We would definitely need a prize pool since I wouldn't bankroll it all myself.

Since the last time I went, my friend and I have tried to make smoked grapes. Unfortunately, we never could make them taste like what they did there. It sounds odd, but sweet baby jeebus it was sooo good. Those were just the side item thrown onto a sausage platter (yes, I know I am walking into one with that) that we got.

Pride and Joy and Robert the Bruce are the 2 common ones that just aren't worth getting, IMO. Unfortunately, the others I mentioned are all in big bottles or draft only. YumYum is new and I have not had the pleasure to try it yet.

Gumballhead is the only American Wheat ale I think I have ever liked. Soooo damn good. Broodoo is usually tasty as well, but it will vary each year based on what fresh hops they use.

I also like Option B.

I like it staying the way we did it this month. It isnt really a competition. Just a way to talk about and play more games. Random drawing for a winner is the way to go too. Anyone that participates has a chance. More incentive for more people to participate. Most of us will never win a TiT tournament because we either suck or cant play all day.

Oh and we dont have to have a prize either. I completely forgot you even said you had a prize. #notaVig

And why havent I heard of this before? Is it more hoppy or something?
It is not like a Belgian Wit at all. You might like certain versions of the style, but you would not like that one. It is incredibly hoppy.

Rule of thumb, if the style of the beer is listed as American something or other, it will be hoppy and will usually tend to have citrus or piney flavored hop profiles. English something means not hopped as heavily and usually uses noble hops which have a more earthy type flavor profile.

Belgians styles have their own classification.

So Blue Moon is American, but because it is made in the Belgian style it is Belgian beer and therefore less hoppy?

Well something wonky is going on because I keep having to reconnect every few minutes.  Was doing it with my PS4 earlier and now with my vita.  Not my internet connection that I can tell... everything looks normal as far as that goes.

Yes. It is not always that cut and dry due to some brewers like the one Chewy likes who claim to be making a Belgian style and then hopping it like an American beer. It works most of the time though.

I still have 10 most wanted races left including needlepoint and like 50 collectibles. Probably won't make the plat in February but I'll keep plugging away. I wonder if burnout will seem easier now.
Depending how much time you have to play on Saturday you should be able to do that in a long afternoon unless you get stuck on races or can't find one of the collectables. Getting the trophy "second is nothing" (1st in all the events) I would consider beating the game for the purposes of the 4 for Feb challenge.

Considering that the brewing company for Fat Tire here in Ft. Collins is called the new Belgium Brewing company, I don't really think it matters that it actually comes from Belgium.  It is fun having all these big time breweries around.  Use to live 5 minutes from the Coors factory during school.  Was easy to go in the afternoon and get three free beers including blue moon, Coors, and Killians.

Edit:  there is a huge Breckenridge brewery opening up right by my house... excited for more free beer!

I have tried a couple New Belgium beers and Fat Tire. They are all hoppy and gross to me. So even though they call themselves Belgium they dont make it in that style it seems. Right Gator?

Does Dovah not stream much anymore? I haven't had an alert from her in a while.

Also don't forget that her instagram exists.
I followed Dovah on Instagram, and she posted a real nice picture of her butt recently.
I got an alert from Instagram today. Nice pic. She definitely has one asset covered.

Why do people post these things? Who cares, shut up and enjoy!

Gator How would I describe myself as a beer lover?  More hoppy or less hoppy?  Etc.?

Right now I love Fat Tire, Sam Adams, Alaskan Amber, sometimes go for Guiness...

Cleaner for my 4forFEb will you mark of Dont Die Mr Robot and The Order, swap Transistor out with Ratchet & Clank 2 and mark it off too, then you can add bonuses Race the Sun, Unmechancial, Aqua Kitty, and Futuridium in however you're doing extra games.  Thanks.

Just yesterday tribute claimed that mercenary kings vita is still coming but they're focusing on getting curses n chaos released first. So maybe they'll finish it this year? Who fuck ing knows. No one will care by the time they do though.
Oh god Curses n Chaos. lol Jesus I totally forgot, they annouced that forever ago.
