We took our boys kicking and screaming to see the movie Song of the Sea. It was super good and definitely some of the best animation I've ever seen. And our boys ended up liking it! Definitely recommended to see it in the theater if you get the chance.

I said she got banned from the entire internet.

I'm sure Zimm would want it.
Especially with garbage juice on it.

Never heard of it but it looks neat. Maybe my kid will be ready for it around the time it makes it to Netflix.

i didn't even know at&t provides home internet. i only know verizon, comcast, and time warner. when i had dsl, i used earthlink
I thinkk they co-op their DSL with AOL.

There is definitely some play in these controls though. Really should be able to use the d pad for controls as I know I land a manual and sometimes it doesn't register. Very frustrating.

so how fun is Dying Light? Debating trying to blast through it this week.
Really fun, though I might not be the best to ask considering I skipped both Dead Island games. If someone had played both beforehand, I could see the setting for Dying Light seeming kind of dull. The parkour gameplay is excellent regardless.

The provide fiber to the curb via U-Verse in several areas. Connecticut has it in some locations.

I finished the Vanquish campaign tonight. Now I have to get the rest of the Pangloss statues and misc. trophies...then I can tackle the hard part.

Also, Vanquish 2 needs to be a thing.

To echo Vig; I still haven't played any of the Dead Island games so I'm not burnt out on Techland's zombie formula. And although the year is still young, Dying Light is easily the game that hooked me the most these last three months to the point of totally losing track of time playing it.

The first 30-45 minutes start off slow and clunky but it gets much better very quickly after that. The first night mission is terrifying and when you get a few abilities upgraded/unlocked it becomes pure joy to just run all over the city for loot, combat and side quests.

If you've only got a week with it you could definitely beat it and see most everything worth seeing but if you're intent on platinum'ing it you may want hold off or come back to it: Many of the completion trophies are bugged to all hell even after three patches and counting.

I was looking at the trophy guide for the hidden golden skateboards and it said to complete all of the challenges on the current stage before moving on. fuck that. I moved on and got better on later tracks so when I went back to some of the earlier ones they were much easier afterwards.

Also, I'm not sure if they changed it drastically in OlliOlli 2, but in OO1 I didn't focus on tricks in general. For the larger score/combo requirements I focused on variety and keeping momentum. I'd flick the LS in a different direction each time. So I'd grind by pressing it down, then left, up, and right and mixing in L and R to spin for each jump. Eventually you get in a groove and learn to land/time them perfectly.

Focusing on 1 or 2 objectives at a time is usually best. Juggling too many splits your focus and usually resulted in failure of both for me.

Not sure if any of that helps. Hopefully it was better than simply saying "practice makes perfect". In this case it really does. :p

when you all first started plating it all I heard wa s complaints now all I see from you and everyone else taking about it is how fun it is. I really want to play it at some point. But can you play it by yourself at all?

What a buggy POS SR4 is on PS3.  Locked up at least 4 times now.  2 times today.  1/3 or so through the final mission.  Have to replay it all again.

I think I am going to trade it later in the week and skip the DLC.

Oh and I really want to run over these guys that think they are pro cyclists riding their bikes three across in the middle of the road. They have the special helmets and bikes and wear all spandex like they are in some real race. Hey jackasses get the fuck out of the road. All you need are some steroids to be a real cyclist!

If it's like Dead Island I'd say it's better together.

Hey Equistina, where did you find that post about the phone? I can't seem to find the phone anywhere in the list for the promo page, so I want to make sure it actually applies to it.

Edit: Never mind, ended up ordering it anyways. Here's hoping it gives me the points.

This is pretty much exactly how I handled the score/combo challenges for both games.

To be clear I have no issue landing anything but the stupid manuals. They don't seem to be consistent. Landing all the jumps and things is easy. Chaining the whole level with perfect manuals is not. And landing an advanced trick moving the stick back and forth in one jump somehowseems impossible.

Another day with only 6 hours of sleep. At least I get off work early tonight, and hopefully people will go to sleep early too.

I can make it to the door for the first boss in Rogue Legacy fairly easy now, but I don't quite think I'm ready to take him on.

Sounds like the target b1g1 is a bit of a bust. My target made most of the games disappear (probably ones that wouldn't ring up right anyways) and also some ps2 games made an appearance.

You can at least take any games you might want to the scanner and see if "Special Promotion" appears on the right side when you scan each game. If it does, that game is part of the promo.

yeah I get that a multiplayer game is better together. But is it fun by yourself? I have played many games that are better with a partner but I enjoy playing by myself as well.
I'm going to assume you are posting about Dying Light and not another "game". Anyway, Dying Light is a blast solo. I need two co-op trophies and the collectibles trophy for the platinum. The only trophy that was somewhat buggy for me was the save hostages trophy. One needs to save 15 hostages for it to pop, but I think it is save hostages 15 times. It popped for me around 21 hostages saved. I played co-op for a short time last night and it was great fun, especially when the night zombie invaded our game. The only complaint I have about the game is the last boss fight is a QTE. I'm probably only sour about this because I just finished The Order. It's definitely worth playing and it's much better than Dead Island.

it just hit me that that button mapping feature in the new ps4 update should be able to correct games that dont have inverted controls. i gotta hope they bring it to ps3 and vita now.

Mop Up March has been a bust for me so far. I got diverted to Helldivers and Flame Over. I suppose I should swap Flame Over in, just completing the 4th level. That's feasible. Wonder what I should take out?

Helldivers only would apply as a platinum, but I doubt I'm ever going to get that. Certainly not this month.

It was the best buy deal of the day thread

Ehh I would say it's done once we get that conquer the war trophy for me. 100k kills is insane.

Yeah unless they change something I don't think any of us will see 100k kills. I haven't even gotten to 10k yet. I want to get the level 10 trophy and win a war or whatever and be dine with Helldivers. I am kind if bored with it. We need more defending the capital or whatever

Hey Flame Over pros,

Do we know what axe does? I pick them all up but don't think I've seen anything different happen with them.

And do I need to buy something from the in-level shop to use these revive updates I'm buying, or am I missing something like a big dum dummy?

Yeah I'm pretty much only playing it when one of you guys are playing with it. Not enough variety now.

I'll probably get to 100k eventually but not for awhile.
