Guys, do I buy the Robin and Nightwing Arkham City DLC? How about the New 'n Tasty DLC? I forgot all about this stuff. :wall:

Arkham would really just be in case I ever get the silly idea to grind out 100%.

Happy to report that my trophy streak ended at 21 days about 5 days ago.  I didnt even realize it until now.  I dont know how you guys have the energy to try and keep up such streaks.  There are days where I just cant be bothered.

You still wont catch me Tyler!

I'm actually planning on going in to the game hating it. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.
Why would you hate it? Did you enjoy MK9? I'm expecting it to be more of that, just a little prettier and with some of the environment stuff from Injustice thrown in. That all sounds good to me. I'm sure I won't like it more than MK9 since that felt pretty fresh when it came out and this is more of the same, but I won't hate it.

Yeah, I'm sure you're right. I have a feeling that the single player presentation/krypt/towers/faction stuff is going to feel like too much, but I don't expect the core game to be any different (in a good way).

I don't have any kids or a wife who wants to spend time with me, Pete how the hell are you 1,000 points away from me on TT?
Priorities, bitch.

Honestly I don't know - I assume you guys hang out with friends and shit sometimes but I pretty much play games every night for at least an hour or two. Slow and steady maybe?

Down to only the rob a homer and catch a foul ball out of play trophies for the MLB 15 plat.  Not sure how to make sure those happen, if they ever will.

Stupid luck based trophies.

While I'm guessing you could do that in regular game, they probably have those conditions set up for RTTS. Rob a home run for an outfielder and catch a foul ball for either 3B or 1B. I'm a 2B in RTTS so I can't check right now.

I believe all those DLC give you are the characters to play as. To get the trophies, you have to beat all the stupid challenge levels with 3 stars again with those characters. Yeah, fuck that. Getting through all that shit once is enough of a chore.

I must be the only person on earth who really liked those challenge maps. There is one of the extreme predator maps in arkham city that gave me nightmares, but otherwise I just thought they were fun in both AA and AC.

p.s. I did those maps with the dlc characters too. So nyeah!

The thing about having kids is you need to be home a lot more than you would be otherwise. Granted, kids take some time, but as they get older not so much. It is why I play so much and mine are now 11 and 14 so sometimes they play with me (one of the main reasons I play every Lego game). I also seem to watch a whole lot less TV than most of you seem to do.

Having a wife who doesn't work outside the home means that a lot of the mundane errand tasks are already taken care of. Paying someone to deal with the landscaping and for a maid every 2 weeks means even a bit more free time.

I actually had more fun in Arkham City with the combat challenges since the bat swarm move or whatever it is called made it seem like you didn't have to be perfect. The Predator maps sucked ass and they are why I can not seem to bring myself to go back to finish the campaign challenges. Making it through them once to finally 3 star is one thing. Doing 3 of them in a row without fucking up is another.

I tried making an OF in RTTS but I was absolutely horrible at knowing where the ball was actually going so I gave up on that. My RTTS that I imported from last year is a 1B, but haven't had the opportunity for a foul in a good month's worth of games.

I'll just hope both happen in my franchise play, but I may try a fudged roster vs minor league team in an exhibition here and there. I hear that outfielders set to Auto helps on them though.

I love the awesome marketing that the local soccer team just got. They apparently paid for an ad that just aired advertising the game on April 4th.

That reminds me, did you get to check out Brick Store sagemoon?
Unfortunately, no. Traffic was awful on the way down Friday so we ended up getting to Atlanta later than expected (spring break travelers + heavy rain from Indiana through Tennessee). Worth it in the end though, game was awesome and Indy didn't loose (they tied). I've got Brick Store marked down though for next time I'm in Atlanta definitely want to try some local stuff instead of just drinking Indy beer all the time.

I know I really struggled with all the challenge maps and combat challenges in AA because I just couldn't get the combo system down or understand the stealth as much as I do now.  I don't think I actually tried them at all in AC.  Finished the main story, Catwoman story, and Harley Quinn story and moved on.  I'd probably go back to try them if I hadn't sold my discs, making me have to download their big asses.

Do you drink much from the local Indy places? I LOOOVE Flat 12. Sun King is not bad, but it seems like they have stopped innovating because they got such a huge following so fast. Last time I was there Indiana City had just opened and showed some promise. I think it was Brugge that had an outstanding sour beer I tried.

I drink local unless I'm going for rum or whiskey. Tend to default to the Sun King cream since its almost always available on draft. I'm also big on Triton, I like the Amber Ale and the IPA every now and then. I've got a love/hate with Flat 12 in that the first one I had from them was a super hoppy IPA that I hated, but I don't hate the rest of their stuff when it's all I have to drink. Upland is pretty big around here as well, and they usually give out their wheat ale for free/cheap at a lot of events but I'm not a huge fan of wheat ales in general. Don't know that I've had anything from Indiana City.

god of war pros - how long do you think it would take someone who is not very good at these games (me) to get through god of war 3 on titan difficulty collecting all treasures?

I found Titan difficulty to be pretty damn tougher than the other hardest difficulties, so I bumped it down and plan to do the full upgrades/unlimited health glitch to do my Titan run whenever I get back to it. So if you're not very good at them, I might go that route.

I dont remember much but I am sure I took the advice of the guide on PSTrophies.org. And it wasnt harder than the other games. And only a spot or two proved difficult enough that I had to play it a hundred times. So you would probably take another hour or two maybe if you follow the guide?

EDIT: I dont know what this unlimited health glitch is but I know I upgraded by playing the other difficulties first.

If it was Walkabout from Flat 12 that you hated, then ignore the Tropicailia suggestion :)

I have not even heard of Triton, so I assume they are pretty new. I have never cared for anything I tried from Upland except their Lambics that people seem to go completely ape shit over. The price on them just seems to continue going higher and higher so I general do not bother anymore.

Because there is only 1 gold and a lot of Bronze. You get like X number of trophy points and then the developer gets to decide what combination of gold, silver, and bronze trophies to use to reach that point value, right?
That's the going theory, but I don't think I've ever seen a game with over 60 trophies that doesn't include DLC ones.

Pre-patch, after you beat the game regular style, then beat all the challenges, you go do some other challenge and die in a fancy way. Then when you start a new Titan playthrough you'll have all your weapons already upgraded. Supposedly if you die in an even fancier way, you can get unlimited health and/or magic.

I played from the start on Titan. It was probably not a good idea because I remember it being a bitch especially early on. If you already have a save where you have some decent upgrades maybe it won't be so bad.

It's funny, I actually have a fairly rigorous schedule. I'm up by 4:30a, I'll generally play something until about 6a.

Then at night after the kids go to bed from about 7:30p-9p. So it's really closer to 3 hours between the two I reckon.
Yeah I get it. Speaking of which, I didnt earn any trophies last night so Tyler cut into my lead a bit. So I need to work on that tonight.

Expendables bros gots to play again tonight.

i play way more than 1-2 hours every night. i dont believe you Jeff.
You are one of those exploring types wanting to see every part of every level though. I think Pete plays more like me and is there to get from start to finish as efficiently as possible. It makes a big difference in how effective your time playing is in term of trophy acquisition.

Just looking at what I remember from the bottles it was probably the Half Cycle one. Makes sense, I'm generally not a fan of doulbe IPA. I'll have to try the walkabout next time. Tritons pretty new, I think they started in 2010 or 2011? The railsplitter is a pretty good IPA, but I tend to prefer the magnificent amber.

I cant imagine playing on TITAN first. I like the games enough anyway that I dont mind playing through it multiple times anyway. And I dont get stuck as much in TITAN with the upgrades. So win win for me. But I know that Gator likes to plat as fast as possible to try and get ahead of the top 30 in the world.

Is that not possible post-patch?

I do not think it is a theory. I do not know of an example of more than 1230 trophy points for a game with a platinum. That can be split up however they would like. It is the games that don't even bother using all those points that aggravate me.

I'll see your 61 and raise to 63.

Early morning gaming helps apparently as that's when you got most of your trophies, at 5AM, next most trophyful is 8PM. I usually get up no earlier than i need to to get to work on time and only game in the evenings and during the day on the weekends.

Is that not possible post-patch?
Correct. If you have the GoW 3 patch installed and you want to do the glitch, uninstall that shit.

Here's the exact instructions from the forums:
1) Beat the game once on any difficulty, beat all the challenges.
2) Start Combat Arena, choose Titan difficulty.
3) Pick whatever monsters/settings you like.
4) Stand there and die.
5) After dying a few times, system will ask you to switch to Easy mode. Choose NO to return to title screen.
6) Start New Game on any difficulty and voila: You have all 4 weapons all maxed out from the beginning.

And some supplemental info to possibly get infinite health:
  • You need to put your stats in the arena to infinite, then select titan diff there + 3 of those fat medusas. Then in the arena jump and let yourself get stoned (u can't die otherwise with infinite health there). After dying 5 times say no to easier diff. Back on title screen select titan diff on new game and begin ur game (you'll be invulnerable).
