Great La-Mulana impressions article on IA Tyler. I liked the angle you took with the piece. You're a braver soul than I. And the bosses will get tougher. Oh man will they get tougher.

Nice shout out from the dev on Twitter too.

Also if you don't consider vague hints from friends to be "guides", I can try to give any pointers from what I remember before you go full walkthrough.
Thanks man! I really appreciate it! Yeah I thought that shoutout from the devs was really cool too!

I will probably reach out to you via PM or kik or something when i'm ready to turn to hints. That will be better then having to fully resort to a guide.

Grabbed this on my lunch used. $11.69 with PUR Pro. No tax since it was trade credit. I can return it within a week if I don't like it. Return Fraud or no?

Thanks for posting this. I don't look at the GS thread too often and might have missed it.

Had more credit on my card then I thought too so win win.
Darn, I forgot to remind you about the reusable 20% off b-day coupon that would have saved you another ~$2.50.

I guess the few XBox One/360 owners here in this thread can't write at a HS level? I know I felt smarter when I traded my 360.

Seriously though there are quite a few people in this thread who have 360s and/or One. Maybe one of them will want to step up and write some MS reviews?
Tyler rejected my narwhal x Smite fan fiction.

You jerks have also got me back playing my PS systems more again for these monthly deals.

I'll back owl up on this. It's borderline laughable for you guys to pretend that you don't have a huge Sony bias. Not meant to be an insult or anything. They are great and are definitely the most consumer friendly of the three (in my opinion). Just own up to it. I see one Xbox article where you list the GWG for April and say "No doubt a very light month for Xbox One users, but those who are still holding on to Microsoft’s last-gen console will be able to download a couple quality titles." and a Wii U article talking about a potential online membership service where you say "Few details were revealed about the service, but given Nintendo’s current offering, things can only get better." (hint: that one was not written by the one of you who happens to own a Wii U).

I thought about it on my way over but figured it wasn't worth going back to work printing it out and then stopping there after work. It is slightly out of my way when I am headed home.

I have used them in the past do they eventually catch on or ban your account if you abuse them?

Thanks for pointing that out. I did not realize the text on that one went into the editorial realm like that.

Our stance was that focusing on reviews for the platforms we have did not really show bias, but comments like that obviously do.

I don't follow the Wii U at all and barely remember I have a 2DS. But they are spot on with the MS analysis. Solid GWG for April on the 360 not so much on XBox One. Is it a bias if it is true?

Boston Market buy one get one free on individual meals. Stopping there on my way home from work. How are they not in the brackets? Sounds like the fix is in to me.
Boston Market in town went out of business several years ago. Might have to do that Sonic deal.

You never need to print out the code, and it's actually better if you don't to prevent a paper trail. Save the image of it (in the relevant thread in the main forum) onto your phone and have the employee scan your phone. If they insist that they need a physical coupon, ask for a sheet of paper and write down the code (located under the barcode).

I've used the code several times in my area and a few employees are cool with me using it (though I can't tell if they know that it's the b-day coupon or if they see me as a guy who just always find new coupons), but I try not to go overboard with it like use it 5+ times within a 1-week period. As for whether they can ban you, I'm not sure, but it's safer to assume that using it too often in a short period of time can raise some flags.

Neither comment is entirely off base (the vast majority of comments I saw were not overly happy with Pool Nation and Child of Light for GwG & Nintendo's online offerings are laughable to most who know what PSN and Xbox Live offer) but you're 100% right, by not having more well-rounded coverage we open ourselves up to criticism when we make comments like those, regardless of their validity.

and then ultimate to go from 99->255 ;)

minimal incremental stat increases... no more skill points tho

im down for 5mil+. I'v got 9 bags full and love just questing and questing. and eating food!
yeah, i have 9 bags too, and almost full of quality gear sets. i just have to get a couple more skill points so i can have 9 items in all 9 bags. it's a shame we can't mix in ancient dragon runs with our talisman runs without giving up our streaks.

i don't see the bias in the xbox comment. haven't we talked similar things about plus months where one system was better than another? the nintendo one, sure.

Cool Good to know. I will have to save the image to my phone later for the next time. I don't go that often and have 2 near my house and 1 near my job and 1 near my parents and another near my MIL so I go to 4 or 5 different stores anyway.

May or may not be biased, but opens us up to being called "biased" which is really what we need to avoid in the first place.

It's not actually true compared to past months. For awhile XBone was only getting one new game a month (they would always have two a month, but some games would stay for two months in a row). The fact that there were 2 new games actually made it one of the better months.

I still think you should just drop all of the news (who goes to IA to read news???) and stick to reviews (text and video) and streaming and stuff like that.

Reviews are hard to write, man. We've had a plethora come out all at once this week but it's about to dry up. News fills in that empty space well, and can make for interesting pieces as well. Stotch wrote a real good destiny article about the annoucement the other day.

You are right.

Looking at the list for April I think I confused it with March. Tomb Raider 2013 (one of my fav games last gen I have a copy for PS4 too) and BioShock Infinite is much better then Rayman Legends. And yes I have played all three (didn't quite finish Rayman Legends).

I loved Judgement which is an April game but most Gears of Wars fans think that was a turd.

I actually agree with this and would add that including something like a Let's Play geared towards trophy hunters and regular folks alike would be good to actually monetize IA or at least make it pay for itself (considering two on staff are good at trophy hunting). Just my two cents.

FYI, I forgot to post the bad news: The reusable b-day coupon might be dying off at the end of May (the latest ones have a 5/31 expiration). People in that thread have reported getting new coupons with unique codes. :-({|=

You could have opinion pieces (which can be as biased as you want) and perhaps a guideline of how you do things, like an ethics code of conduct, which would also help.

Is there a link to this destiny article? I mean, it's so much work for me to go to the main website and scroll to find this specific article. I don't think you guys post enough links. I know for a fact that everyone in this thread shares my exact opinion.

When you say a Let's Play geared towards trophy hunters, do you mean video guide type of things or gaming nights where we play with others? If the video guide piece, I am trying the feasibility of that but in very small doses. Also, I am not sure if ground could be made in that area if we wanted to. People who really do that tend to do it as a full time job and get the info out within a couple of days of a games release. We are all working stiffs and none of us expect that to change.

As far as the monetizing, that opens a whole other can of worms that I do not think any of us are prepared for or really want to deal with at the moment.

What am I, chopped liver? I'm awesome at trophies compared to most the #commoners in this thread!

And thanks for the feedback. The news isn't going anywhere (though I think too much is being made of it, 8 of our last 9 posts have been editorials, impressions, or reviews. it's not like we're spamming news) but I hope you stick around the site and check out the articles that do interest you.

I mean, IGN is my main go-to site for video game info, and I still click on less than 20% of the articles they post. There's no way we'll be able to make the perfect site for everyone. We really appreciate the support you all give on the articles that do interest you.

I wouldn't mind contributing from the Xbox side if you guys want to move that way. Unfortunately I really wouldn't be able to commit until June once my class if over.

Writing for a website is definitely a challenge like others have mentioned. You have to balance your personal life with it and really commit especially when it comes to reviews or anything on a schedule. Even just streaming for a couple hours weekly can be difficult. Sometimes you just want to relax and play one game but you're obligated to review another or do something else. I have respect for what you guys are doing. I stepped down from my previous position when I knew I no longer had the time.

How can I take you seriously as an Xbox contributor when you don't even have an Achievements card in your signature???

The videoguide pieces and yes, I imagine the time constraints are big enough considering your jobs. I wouldn't really expect you guys churning out platinum/100% guides like machines, that would be unrealistic.

I do hope IA fulfills what you guys plan for it and no dig at you trophy wise, but your fellow editors take no prisoners in that category, hahaha.

Or just like vinyl. considering it since they look awesome and comes with game code, game code worth 10 or so alone.

Also already sold out 2 pressings!

Shit, now I want it.

edit: few sold listings on ebay for 120-150 too...

Guess I will have to use the current one a few times before then.

You were one of the ones that came to mind. Hopefully we don't end up with a GamerGate situation. Then again Stotch is good at tracking people down and we have shift/shady people all over the US.

I didn't post a link to my last review in here after the events of yesterday, but there is a video in it I made for the hardest trophy in Teslagrad. It isn't much, but it is a start. I did not have time to dub it before needing to publish, but it was at least something along those lines.

I already have a couple videos of acing the last 2 levels of LBP3 that I hope to use for some sort of article for the game. Not sure if it will be a really late review or a trophy addict thing like before. Apparently the latter is just a joke anybody could write so maybe I'll go with the former.
