Finished Earthworm Jim HD and the 3 bonus levels. It starts to become a pretty big drag near the end.
The 3rd to last level is one long escort mission, "For Pete's Sake." In it Pete the dog is constantly walking forward and you have to clear the path in front of him, that means shooting killer plants at the right time so they shrink away for 2 seconds, or whipping Pete so that he jumps over a chasm. That wouldn't be so bad if not for the wild card, randomly a meteor shower starts and bombards you for 20-25 seconds in which you must wildly fire into the air to keep them from hurting you (and even then some sneak through inexplicably). If this happens while you are in the middle of a section with a lot of jumps, you're pretty much screwed as Pete will wander off the cliff. If a plant nabs Pete or he falls off a ledge, he doesn't die, instead he hulks out into a weredog thing, grabs you (causing you to lose 10 of up to 100 HP) and runs back several gaps before he calms down.
Then the last level starts with a narrow, vertical corridor of spike caves in which you have to hover fall and dodge from left to right to avoid hitting the walls. At the end of part 1 of the stage the caverns are so narrow that if you bump into it, you recoil and bump into the adjacent wall, and you bounce back and forth till you die. Then the rest of the level you jump from small platform to small platform which are slick so if you aren't constantly jumping then you will slip off and fall.
Then the boss of the 3rd bonus level starts amusing, but as you have to face it 3 different times it becomes just so tedious to fight and spoiled any enjoyment I may have had.
I can't even contemplate going for the speed run or no death run trophy,

that shit. 4 for 4 #JumpingJune
