I had the same problem--several stores in my area showed it in-stock, but selecting those stores produced "Item Not Available" messages. I also just went with the free Expedited shipping.

You're half right. He is the one ive got to know the best, but it has to do with him being the only other person here under 40. Hes just a young hard worker and we have a good amount in common.

Not "bearded" tho, he has a well groomed goatee. definitely not a big drinker either, he mostly drinks wine. Not a whole lot of "old timey prospector" aspects as you think.
that's really disappointing. I guess it'd be more disappointing for you knowing that in some alternate reality you're hanging out with a drunk crazy old timey prospector and not this young preened go-getter. :(

if it makes you feel any better, we still do have many many faculty members that do fit the old timey prospector mold.

also a program head that wears sneakers with a suit. i crack up every time i see him.

MLB 15 shows up at $15.99 at Bestbuy.com when you add it to your cart. Now I don't have to drive out to my store.

EDIT: You can do separate purchases to get multiple copies for $15.99. If you try to get two in one transaction, the total will be $35.98 before tax ($15.99 + $19.99).
Is this game playable for those who haven't played any of the previous MLB games? I had 08 or 09 for PS3 played it about an hour and though it was too hard for a casual player like me. Actually was hopeful my wife and I could play it together. But the fielding was frustrating. I could hit enough to win but wasn't much fun overall.

Bought MLB 12 for Vita and never played it. I like the idea of a baseball game but frankly I am not interested if they are super hard to play.

The one near my job is out but the one near my house has it supposedly. I would probably just have them ship though anyway.

I will never understand the sneakers with suit look. It looks stupid. If you want to be casual, be casual. If you want to dress up dress up.

I'm not sure if it's a joke, sound reasoning or something else.  It's a real thinker.

Sorry, I can't say. I'm just getting it to flip. :whee:

I don't see why not. You pre ordered it. I doubt you will have a problem.
Actually, he might have an issue since unlike the $10 certificate promo, the $10 GC is added to your cart as a separate item.

Tyler, you may want to consider calling Best Buy CS, explaining the GC promo, and asking whether they could ship you the $10 GC separately, but doing that will obviously expose your glitch order (though you could explain that away, saying you had a lot of certificates to use or something). You could also post on Best Buy's forums to ask what you should do. Regardless of your decision, I don't think you'll automatically get the GC; you'll have to do a bit of work.

I'm going to actually vote no, at least not without talking to c.s. when they tack the gc on like this they ship it right away and then ship the game at release. while they might go back to existing orders and add the gc in I'd be super surprised. that said, try the lazy way of contacting them since you still have time and I'm sure you don't want to deal with calling. just give them the order number, link to the current listing and tell them you ordered before the free gc was listed and you'd like it added to the order.

Thanks Vig for the MLB 15 tip. Now I can return the one I paid $20 for  :). This also works for the other sale games now...bloodborne ($32) and the order ($16).

so this whole amazon prime day thing - I have never seen amazon advertise so much, especially for a single sale.  tv ads?  streaming radio ads?  banners on every web site known to man?  plastering it all over their own pages?   they're building up a lot of hype but is there any way it's not going to be really dumb?  either the sales will suck or the quantities will, right?

Probably, or at the very least, their claims that the sale will be "bigger than Black Friday" means that BF at Amazon will majorly suck this year.

They are not bad now, for hitting you can choose to hit buttons instead of using the analog stick to swing.

Fielding is prolly still the same but can put on auto fielding.

Quick counts is awesome, cuts down game time a lot, you'll basically start each batter with some sort of count already in progress, like 3-1, 2-2, etc, can usually play a game in 30 mins or less that way, other wise might take more like 1 hour.

I usually just played RTTS mostly, create a character and then you just play as them, pitching you pitch on your day if a starter and if a fielder you basically just bat, goal is to get them from minors to majors and you build them up over time stat wise.

for 16 bucks give it a shot, can always trade back in for around same or more in the next couple of weeks I think.

At least in the tech industry, the marketing types are usually the ones that drink like a fish. The sales guys do it just a bit more.
I thought that was in all industries? Spend thousands just getting drunk with clients while the ops guys have to beg to get Chipotle.

Yeah I am jealous and yeah I want to get into Product Management so I can do more drinking.

With Prime Day, Amazon is no doubt just looking to lure people with the "Omg the sales are exclusive to Prime members!" idea. I'm sure they've run months of internal numbers and figures to say ok if we project to get X amount of people who will sign up for Prime because of this, so we can discount things by Y amount.

And I'm sure there are a bunch of people out there with that thinking who will sign up for a year of prime to get $20 off something and then never use the service again.

Where was the best place to flip these again? Gamestop?
Yes, but not until the 50% bonus receipt codes go live on Monday. MLB 15 is also on sale at Gamestop this week, so there's the possibility that the TIV will rise on Wednesday if it goes back up to $59.99 for new, but there's also the risk that lots of people will just trade in their copies on Monday and Tuesday, which may bring the TIV down.

Amazon also had a $26.xx TIV for a short time, but it didn't last too long.

Yup. me, the avp of students support, the avp of marketing, the director of advising, and the head of the geosciences department hang out all the time back at home. Despite being in 5 completely different departments, our offices are randomly right next to each and we see each other all the time.
lol... okay, my bad. You made your point.... your offices are so far away from each other. Definitely wouldn't make sense to hang out back at home.

The point is, no one can figure out why Tyler was invited on this offsite. All those AVP and Directors are looking at him like who is this kid? And the one guy near his age is a cardigan wearing hipster wine snob so he definitely looks down his nose at Tyler.

I think it was open to anyone who signed up. So Tyler basically invited himself. Like when he tried to invite himself to my house so he wouldn't have to use his food money.

Do people really buy these level up packs that the Tales games sell?
I totally did for tales of hearts r. I spent $6 for 30 levels so I wouldn't have to spend time grinding them out before moving on to ng+ or the last trophy or whatever I was doing. It seemed like a fair trade for me (probably 2h of grinding / $3 per hour of time saved), but sometimes I get pretty sick of jrpg grinding. sometimes it's all I want to do. what a world!

edit - or, as vig said:

The ones who do shouldn't be playing JRPGs.

Had MLB '15 PS4 in my cart, but I barely played MLB some-year on my Vita so i didn't go through with it. I thought RTTS was super boring just playing as one player. Plus I have Super Mega Baseball and should just play that.

"If it is available for retail purchase so that I can purchase it and trade it in once I am done, I will purchase it for consoles. However, if it is only available for download, then I will purchase the download version for PC where it will inevitably be cheaper."

It could also mean, if there's no retail release, they'll stick with the version he already has on PC.
