These will be the price of regular Hot Wheels, right?

Based on the thread in the main forum, it looks like the 50% GS coupons that aren't working are the ones that have a "7" immediately following the dash in the middle (e.g., EBC3041111-71234567).

I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that Nintendo paid them for mobile exclusivity. That's the only reason I can think of for them to kick Vita to the curb like this.

The game looks great, visually. The DQ style is very distinctive and appealing. Seeing it really makes me wish they'd done an HD treatment of DQVIII, though.

Going to be over by a Hastings on Saturday, so I started Type-0 back up last night. I have no idea why Hastings still has such a high TIV for the game, but I'm going to try to run through it by then.

The patch really did help with the camera, which is nice. The UI is still unbelievably clunky, though; the menu system is just pointlessly outdated. Not outdated as in "Hey, this was a PSP game and they did little to modernize it" (which is true) but rather "Hey, this menu system would have felt awkward on SNES." The way you get into and out of sub menus like looking at inventory, the inability to examine and swap between selected skills away from a save point, the way the party system works outside combat, etc., all feel very uncomfortable. It may just not be clicking for me, I dunno. Combat feels kind of unintuitive to me, too.

I didn't expect them to do anything about the poor translation or narrative, but a little bit of tweaking would have gone a long way. As it is, I'm really not sure why so many people cared about the game in the first place; the characters are barely there, the story is incoherent, and the gameplay isn't anything special. Was the excitement just because it was a FF game, or is there something I'm completely missing about this game that explains the interest?

BTW, those of  you who platted it: About how long did it take you? the pst.org estimate shows 25-40 hours, but I'm not sure if that takes the leveling exploit into account.

It took me roughly 30-35 hours to plat, I think, and I used the leveling exploit for a handful (i.e., not all) of the characters. If you do the exploit, I recommend doing it for at least 2-4 characters because the final dungeon requires two 3-member teams and you won't be able to switch anyone between them.

That 3ds use of the two screens is nothing short of genius. an old school and modern rpg in one? the only problem is that they'll never sell a single copy because every dq fanboy that sees that video will die from some sort of arousal complication. does it actually have any utility or is it just clever?

The Gamestop TIVs for all of the games with $37.50 bases dropped to $30 or less.
anything left worth trading? not that I have any 50% coupons, but I was hoping to do a straight move just to get my sub reupped before the holidays.

Maybe 20-25 hours I think.

The Crew is still holding at $17 base and flippable from Best Buy at $16 w/ GCU, but otherwise you can check for yourself: http://www.gamestop.com/trade/Browse/N-0Z1z13laj

That link shows all game TIVs sorted by TIV. Unfortunately you need to click each game to see its TIV.

From the Japan sales estimates I can find PSV is selling around the same number of units as PS4, week-to-week, and for lifetime sales is around 2.5x as high. Considering how often games get a PS4/PSV joint release it must be a pretty smooth process (depending on the coding platform), so for SE to release on PS4 but not PSV the odds are decent that it was due to a monetary push by Nintendo.

Maybe they did code the game in a language that Vita doesn't support, I dunno, but they have previous experience publishing games to Vita (FFX/X-2, Rise of Mana, Chaos Rings, Dragon Quest Builders, World of Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy Agito+) so that seems unlikely to be the issue.

the shovel knight retail release is a disc, right? and they're trying to include vita codes in the box? hmmmmmmmmmmmm
Yep. It's been a while since that has happened, so I'm curious to see if they'll pull it off. I know EU has done it a number of times for games we didn't get the same treatment on, but what was the last NA title that had a physical release with a digital cross-buy? Sly: TiT?

Damn, both versions of DQ look pretty awesome. Kinda leaning towards the 3DS one right now, but I know I'd be lying to myself if I said that I wouldn't end up buying both versions anyway. (and then playing neither because backlog)

Those, literally, make no sense, particularly the Super Mario Kart one.
Well, the artwork on the cars makes sense, but no the car models themselves do not. Seems like a rather half-assed tie-in, tbh. I'm not sure who would buy these things just because they have some Mario artwork on the car sides. Maybe they just didn't want to spend enough to manufacture an entirely new set of cars and instead repainted some existing models.

The escape the lava part? You have to watch for little shortcuts after you get the dime like jumping to the 3rd chain instead of the first chain in that first long row of 6 chains. Or after that, jumping on the platform to the right and taking that chain instead of crossing the 2 blocks and then doubling back across 5 chains.

I beat the end boss in DuckTales and then put the controller down when the cut scene started at the end. Then I died when the escape sequence kicked off.   :wall:

Is that Dr Mario one a hearse??? That does not speak very well of his medical skillz.

and what is up with your trophy card? geez!
Old school ambulances used to be station wagonesque things before they started using vans. The Ghostbusters car is a converted, old ambulance.

Famous-Movie-Cars-Ghostbusters.jpg

I suppose they painted it black so that his white coat shows up better, but it also lacks sirens so maybe it is a hearse as they used similar models for hearses at that time too.

As RPG said, I'm playing Condemned 2 and it doesn't have trophies. You can take any picture, upload it, crop with the tools on the PSNprofile website, and then set it as your trophy card. So I found a Condemned 2 image of the approximate right size and made my own trophy card while I'm playing it.

First details regarding Witcher 3's New Game+ Mode: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/first-witcher-3-new-game-plus-details-revealed/1100-6429239/

  • Enemies will be stronger, obviously.
  • What carries over? Player experience (if you're below level 30 when finishing the vanilla game, you will be bumped to level 30 for the start of NG+), items (excluding: quest items, books & letters, Gwent cards, usable items, trophies) and alchemy recipes.
  • When starting New Game Plus you can select any difficulty level.
  • You can obtain the Death Match achievement when playing the NG+ mode.
  • What's the starting level of the character when beginning NG+? The same that you had when finishing the game, if above 30, otherwise you start at 30. You also get a free Clearing Potion at the start so you can reset your skills and try a different build.
It's unfortunate that you lose your Gwent cards.

So confusing though... enemies will be harder but you can pick difficulty, so will easy be super easy being a high level or what.... figured if things were harder it would lock to death march.

At least makes things easier to get some of the trophies, and possibly a death march play through?

The only trophies I think would be made easier are the already-easy ones like crafting bombs or the ones that require multiple forms of attack like What Was That?, Overkill, or That Is the Evilest Thing... since you'll already have those powers/bombs in your arsenal.

did we talk about phantom breaker battle grounds dropping last week on ps4? I didn't even see it until today, but it has a date of 7/23 on it. I'll bet it's stupid fun. I think tyler likes this game?

I mentioned it a lot but I don't think anyone else said anything. I'll have a review up hopefully at the beginning of next week.

have you guys ever noticed the top games in the psn web store?  there seems to be some sort of statistics compilation error.  don't starve is listed as #1.
