So who's going to be participating in the Pinball Tournament?
I'm in; someone's got to keep the bottom of the leaderboard warm. I just need to figure out what to buy; I know I need the Season 2 Bundle for the first two tables. I don't have a Vita, so that's out. Any suggestions on the PS3 vs PS4 version? Also, It looks like the PS4 version doesn't have trophies for these first two tables. I'm not sure how difficult the trophies are, though, since the TT score for each of the versions is pretty high.

I just have the Vita/PS3 since they're cross buy. Buy the PS4 tables, trophies or not. Don't worry as my scores aren't the best but the tournament is fun to play with members here.

Apparently I was a little more tipsy on Saturday than even I imagined.  My buddy just texted me asking if I made it and I see the "conversation" we had that night was more like him asking and thinking I was on Xanax.

Yeah don't get on those. I've known people who get so addicted to them whenever anything minor happens, they pop em so they don't have to deal with the minor stress, whatever the hell it is. And then they call you slurring their words and having no idea what time or day it is. Even better when they're one of your work colleagues and they don't show up.

Hot Damn!  I told the wife I was going to be at work a little late tonight, and she suggested we meet at the hibachi-style restaurant where the Asian version of Jennette McCurdy works; her of the ass hanging out of her cut-off shorts.

Damn, that ass!

not to completely nerd up the joint after a nice ass shot, but if anyone wants to get a couple easy peasy trophies in blazblue continuum shift extend vita (i think we got it on plus) tonight/this week let me know.

Wait, is that the wife, Mcurdy or the Asian waitress?

Don't forget what happened the last time I had an avatar.

oh yeah you copied mine or something.

i just like it because i can see who's posting based on the pic. it's more just a courtesy than anything else. it could be a big red block or whatever, it just helps when it's something distinctive. we have at least 3 no-avatar posters here.

Like I said before I have avatars off on desktop. Partly due to some of them NSFW. With pharm forced to remove his maybe I will reconsider and turn them on. They are on in Tapatalk but they are so small. And partly cause I really don't care about them. I have a trophy card (actually 2). Which is what I use to find posters quickly (or just do a text search).

Maybe some day I will set one up. But for now I am just a selfish asshole.

I picked up WWE 2K15 and preordered Madden today at Gamestop. It was odd because the girl tried to upsell me on everything possible (game warranty, WWE season pass, Madden Deluxe edition), but she didn't even try to get me to renew my PUR card, which expires in less than a month.

Be honest, you just use the avatar so you know whether to "like" a post or not.

I got the dreaded "undeliverable as addressed" from a game I sold on ebay last week. Also a lot of other little things have gone wrong today and are really pissing me off.

I wish there was a way they could see on out PUR card that we have answered no thanks to every question they ask. Maybe then they will stop asking and wasting OUR time and avoid that awkward moment when they try to sell me a Destiny PS4 Bundle that they tell me is amazing even though they themselves have never played Destiny.

Bought a psn card. When did Sony come into the 21st century? The ps app allows you to scan the card instead of typing in the code. Nice.

Now where the fuck is my fuck ing sort function!!! fuck!

I can't for the life of me seem to figure out how to turn my Win7 disc into a bootable USB. I feel like it used to be super easy, but now nothing I do is working.

I'm down too for both blazbkue and pinball.

Also my shipment has been preparing the the past four days.
Thats terrible as you could have been playing it already. I'm sure you'll use Play-Asia as a last resort for next import. Didn't know if you saw your PM but I got the game today. Thanks!

I wish TrueTrophies would get way more popular. How did they get TrueAchievements popular? They need to do that with TrueTrophies.

For example, there are 115 tracked players on The Swindle on TrueAchievements, and only 23 on TrueTrophies. I highly doubt the game sold 5x better on the Xbox One.

The epitome of stupidity to me is not knowing your own correct address when ordering something online. Despite it only being $2-$3 out of pocket loss, it is beyond infuriating.

Finally finished this off. It's quite the grind--not so much in a post-story area where you're grinding out combat, but more because the campaign itself is a grind. There's 4 schools to play as and each has 5 chapters, which almost all have 5 sections of combat to play. So there's 97 story missions. In addition, each of the 20 characters has an additional 5 chapters to play. So at minimum you're looking at 197 story and character combat sections.

The characters are generally quite appealing. Looks-wise there's quite a bit of variety, so odds are good that you'll really like a few of them. Personality wise they're good for the most part as well, though I definitely found the one who acts like a little girl to be annoying. They do differ in how they handle, but the majority as you level them up become quite adept at handling crowds, though the variations due to which weapon the characters use does provide a distinct feeling from one to the next. A few of the characters never feel quite right for crowds and those tend to be less fun to play.

The controls are what you'd expect; square for light attacks and triangle for heavy. Circle is dash in whatever direction for the entire cast except for one girl, who hops backwards when you hit it. Playing her really wasn't fun since she's one of the last accessible characters. Her little hop move was completely counter to the dash I'd gotten used to and made me dislike playing as her as a result.

While playing there are three combat stances to play in:

  1. Flash - This is where your character is wearing her school uniform. This is the baseline for attack power/defense.
  2. Yang - This is shinobi mode. Your attack gets a boost and you can perform more combos and the special techniques.
  3. Yin - This is frantic mode, where you switch to panties-only. Your attack power takes a huge boost and you can do unlimited combos, but your defense drops to nothing. You can also do special attacks here.
When you transform into Yin or Yang mode you also get a health refill. The game tells you to stay in Flash mode until your health is low and then transform to maximize the health boost, but this is really pointless because the game is so easy. The most efficient way to play the game is to switch to Yang mode as quickly as possible and then just dominate each match. The only reason to stay in Flash or switch to Yin mode is to work on leveling those up to the max for the associated trophies.

The game itself doesn't really have an overall story aside from the theme of friendship. For the first two schools the running plot is a conflict of good versus evil. It's pointless because even though the girls call themselves good or evil ninja, there's never any doubt that they're all good characters. It's a very superficial, pointless "We're going to fight because you're evil!" kind of thing that never gets interesting. The third school has a revenge subplot that is the best in the game. The fourth is about fighting youma that you never actually get to fight or to see and is more frustrating than anything else.

The mixed tone of the dialogue and story makes the game feel fairly pointless overall. Since there's not a cohesive narrative the focus is on the gameplay instead, which has its own issues. The ~200 battles are never the slightest bit challenging; other than right at the beginning while figuring out the controls, leveling Yin mode, or the final battle you should never lose a fight. The final battle is really cheap, but still easy as long as you block properly (I went the entire game up to that point not blocking at all since everything folds quickly to a hard offence.)

There are three types of dialogue;

  1. A monologue section where the character you're playing generally is serious. These tend to be about a sad past with character death and loneliness and such at the beginning of a section, and at the end they're more about acceptance of friends and determination to become a better ninja.
  2. Character interaction before and after a fight--these are overwhelmingly silly bits where the two fighters are talking to each other.
  3. Character dialogue during a fight. I have no idea why this exists, but while you're fighting the characters will talk to each other. You'll get subtitles for the conversation at the bottom of the screen. How you're supposed to fight and still follow the conversation is a bit of a mystery to me.
The character interaction tends to be about a relationship between two fighters. Almost every character has a pairing--a character they have a crush on or some close relationship with. The novel writer and the shut-in fan, the sadist and the masochist, etc.. Most of these are entertaining.

The menus and load times in the game are rather intrusive. The normal battle goes like this:

  1. Enter menu while in base.
  2. Select Missions
  3. Select mission type (school battle or character battle)
  4. Select chapter/character or character/battle.
  5. Loading.
  6. Watch serious/introspective cut scene (if there is one.)
  7. Loading.
  8. Watch character cut scene for battle.
  9. Loading.
  10. Fight (most fights last less than 2 minutes.)
  11. Victory pose.
  12. Watch character cut scene after battle.
  13. Watch serious/introspective cut scene (if there is one.)
  14. Loading
  15. Battle results.
  16. You got X (Many battles give you an item or series of items--you get one prompt per item to click past.)
  17. Prompt to save (I almost always skipped because saving adds like 6 extra clicks.)
  18. Loading.
  19. Back to base.
The loading bits are typically around 20-30 seconds. All told, it's pretty normal to have a
