I don't mind coasters, but I can't do those spin you around a lot rides.  Like the tea cups/apples thing or the Gravitron.  That shit makes me wanna puke instantly.  I used to love the Tilt-a-Whirl though, but I think I got queasy last time I was on one of those.  Scrambler is still boss though.

Stupid fucking free pizza.  Least they can do when a former Brewer throw-away trade dude throws a no-no for his new team is give me and Crazy some free Za.

Oh shit, me and the kid love the tea cups at Disney or any ride like that.  We try to go as fast as possible and then put our hands up and try not to get a concussion.  Good times.

I saw those rides shut down too many times when I was young to ever want to get into them. They were not shut down for mechanical reasons. They were shut down to spray out the vomit from other riders.

My friend started calling them vomit rockets and that stuck.
Yes indeed, those were called the Hammer here. I only vomited on one ride in my life, and that was on the Hammer. Not really a fun ride.

I know most of you are not sports fans... but I will be potentially streaming Madden 16 tonight when I get it, I am for sure streaming tomorrow morning from like 6 AM MT time to 11 AM... if anyone is interested

As a young kid you can do those spinning rides no problem, but once you hit puberty you start getting queasy on them. My oldest now gets sick on them, but didn't use to. But they are fun if you can take them (or have that Scopolamine Transdermal Patch). Some of them are pretty awesome. That ride I showed is at Knoebels, not a carnival. They have a very good safety record.

The Tilt-a-Whirl could be nasty too but only if you hit those turns perfect like 3-4 times in a row. What about the Tempest? I never went on that one.

The only ride I almost barfed on was Mission: Space one at Disney, the one that simulates a flight into space and exposes people to 2.5g.  Had I opened my mouth during it, I would have.  Was rubber legged from that for a good hour after.  If I ever ride it again, I would do the less intense version.

I loved riding roller coasters and finding the bigger, faster, crazier coasters were always a blast. I unfortunately can't ride them anymore after I had to get my neck fused. After the surgery the doctor asked if I like roller coasters and then gave me the bad news. It's been too long and I miss the feeling of my stomach dropping or feeling the Gforces. The only part that sucks is now all theme parks have skip the line passes. Six Flags has one here which is $100 after you pay admission. I miss riding the coasters but don't miss this pay to skip the lines. My friend went last time and said some lines were 2-3 hours long so they bought those passes.

fuck that nonsense!

Roller coasters don't make me nauseous at all. Well, I think there was one time - might have been Cedar Point, where I was a little queasy at the end of the day many years ago.

I rode it not long after it opened and was fine although a little rubber legged for sure. The second time I rode it I almost puked and decided never to ride it again. I hear they turned it down on the "real" side, even after they split it into two options.

You can get rid of that queasiness really fast if you hop the fence under the roller coaster.

That sucks, man. :(

Roller coasters are alright for me but I can't imagine paying for a whole day there. My wife's work recently had a company outing to Six Flags where we got free admission/parking, early access, catered lunch, etc and even that was only fun for a few hours. I can do any of the rides except the ones that take you up really high then drop all of a sudden.

I always liked those carnival rides that spin a bunch of people around at a time so fast that it presses you up against the wall.  And then you hope someone nearby doesn't get sick.

Is that the one at Epcot? Me and my wife did that when we went back in March and it fucking wiped us for the rest of the day. I've never been a fan of spinny rides. Roller coasters are fun, but anytime I've gone to an amusement park recently I've had my fill of rides like halfway through the day. Get a headache. I'm not event that old yet!

Yeah, that's the one where you and 3 others go into space and have a part to do during it. I was first on mine and the 3 teenagers next to me were enjoying it. I figured they wouldn't appreciate me failing the mission. I also didn't want to have a bunch of teenagers show me up lol.

So I see a lot of you mentioning early hours.  At single parks like most of you are talking about those probably work well.  If you ever go to Disney and stay in the park, do not be suckered in by that shit.  All the special hours do is make that park a giant clusterfuck for most of the day.  At least the early hours are that way.  The ones that stay open late, most people are already worn out and bail so they work pretty well.  The problem is even then a lot f people go there thinking they will make it to the late hours.

The only way to make use of the early ones is if you have the park hopper pass.  Go to that one just for the early hours and get your ass on the monorail as soon as it opens up for the common folk and go to a different park.

I used to enjoy roller coasters. As I've gotten older the excitement has gone way down and now it feels more like a chore to get through the line than anything. Never jump at haunted houses anymore, either.

My sister-in-law was said the same about that ride. We did one at Kennedy Space Center, and it only had a few seconds of the weightless feel, but apparently the one at Disney is 10x worse.

I'm a huge fan of rollercoasters though, but I haven't been to an amusement park in a couple of years. The Superman ride at Six Flags is probably my favorite ride that I've been on. Still want to do a trip to Cedar Point at some point, see if it lives up to the hype.

Not enough wooden coasters at Cedar Point, but otherwise it's great. I haven't been in many years, though. Last time I was there the Magnum XL-200 was the newest coaster.

My work does the same thing, two weekends every summer and one in October. That's the only time we go since early access means there are zero lines. We didn't go this year, but we could've totes had a two man PSNOT gathering assuming her company was there either 8/15 or 8/22 when mines was.

I heard an interview with a virtual/augmented reality expert the other day talking about nausea. A couple things of note:
- children are not supposed to use anything stereoscopic. There's a belief held by some that it actually causes long-term damage.
- you can't simulate falling for more than a second or two or it messes the viewer up badly (I've heard this before)
- people that are normally prone to motion sickness after using it can wake up the next day and still feel the effects.
- augmented reality stuff of sufficient realism (resolution/animation) can apparently trick your brain in to seeing things

Just stop guys.

Dated a girl in college from Jasper IN and she took me to Holiday World on a random week day. It was pretty fun for the coasters and water park. At the time they only had like 2-3 coasters, but The Voyage was brand new for that year I think. It was pretty great for a wooden coaster, we rode it like 4-5 times in a row as there was no line.

Outside of the 3-4 coasters they now have, the rest of the park is lame kid stuff mostly and not that great. Water park is pretty solid though, one of the better ones Ive been to for that part.

They have 4 real ones plus a kiddie coaster. 3 wooden and 1 steel. I posted the link. You aren't reading PSNOT.

2 dummies were arrested after they allegedly threatened to shoot up the Pokemon World Championships over the weekend.  Certainly found enough in the car to warrant it.

Even if you were making a (bad) joke, threatening Boston with any sort of terrorist activity is near the top of the "Things you do that will end up with you in Federal 'pound me in the ass' Prison" list.

Definitely not enough wooden coasters. I love those. Magnum XL was my favorite one out of all the ones I rode followed by the Dragster.

They took down the only wooden coaster here at Busch Gardens.  Not sure why.

EDIT:  I guess Gwazi was their lowest rated ride and one of their higher cost so they closed it.  Apparently people didnt like the "rattling" down the track.  It was a pretty harsh ride but I liked it because of that.  It was exciting.

I saw that Disney has plans to do a ride where you fly the Millennium Falcon and are in some kind of fight between the First Order and Resistance.

I posted that yesterday. There's too many idiots living in the world today. Glad they stopped it before anything happened.

Sorry Bums, I searched for it before posting but the search function sucks and doesn't sort shit correctly by date because the one guy programming seems to have given up.

Last roller coaster I rode was Tatsu at Six Flags. They have you hanging underneath the track and the rotate the car so your looking at the ground. It gives you the feeling of what flying would be like. The best part is the loop because your under the track. It's s great coaster and I'll miss riding Tatsu.
