There are people here other than me who play the Ace Attorney games, aren't there?

http://www.siliconera.com/2015/09/01/ace-attorney-6-will-release-in-the-west/

Capcom already confirmed that the next in the main series, Ace Attorney 6, will release here on 3DS, but they didn't say whether it would be digital-only again. They also haven't mentioned anything regarding a localization for the most recent release (The Great Ace Attorney, which takes place in feudal Japan and stars Phoenix Wright's ancestor).

So after all that complaining about Metal Gear...I have the collectors edition being delivered from Best Buy this morning.

For the life of me I dont remember ordering this nor know why I would even have put it in my cart to mistakenly order it.

Did Best Buy send me a free game?

No way, I am never that lucky.
Vig made us all order it when it was announced. I remembered to cancel it because I didn't really want it...not into collector's or limited edition games.

Reading a couple reviews including the IGN and another middle of the road review the game is exactly what I was expecting and like so I am still looking forward to it.

The IGN guy liked the combat enough to look past the dumb non existent plot and monotonous gameplay whereas most of the others seem to harp on it. Either way I will be playing tonight and for the next week or two.

Ill post a non bIAsed review in a few days.
Same... with how cheap I've gotten games this Fall and the sheer number of them, I am going to take my time on games and not rush to trade back in...

Starting with Mad Max first, maybe finish the Plat in Until Dawn, all while throwing in a couple Madden games till I focus on MGSV

Pinball standings through week 3:

  • chewy (29)
  • cireone (26)
  • zimm (22)
  • mitch (19)
  • mild / madchemist (18)
  • soph (11)
  • mpaullin / bumslie (8)
  • elder (3)
dropouts: munky, tyler (who may or may not have been actually participating anyways)

It looks like we could feasibly do two tiers with chewy/cireone/zimm/mitch and me or madchemist in the top and everyone else in the bottom.

tee hee, in the bottom.

I am thinking I will drop it from my Gamefly Q until some of you guys play it and report in. Apparently right now Until Dawn is more popular than it on Gamefly. I do not want to end up with this and if it is a total stinker so only having Until Dawn on my list sounds like the smarter move.

I'm soooooo close to being done with Peace Walker (I don't plan on going for the one grindy online trophy right now, but I might later so I can get the plat), then I can just focus on PS4 stuff for the near-future--Rocket League, GW3, Ground Zeroes, Mad Max, Phantom Pain, and Until Dawn (whenever my library gets it) with a Plus game here and there.

I played a couple, but just like the Professor Layton games, I got burned out on them since there is so little difference between the sequels.

So I was playing some RE: Revelations 2 on the Vita this morning before work. I had some shit go down.

So I'm trying to finish Chapter 1 without using the flame thing at the end of the level for a trophy. I already screwed up my chapter 1 run because accidentally used an herb I shouldn't have and was lower on ammo than I really should have been. So anyway I figure out how to get through the wave of zombies at the end of the level despite these issues, I get the gate open click the button...game goes to a loading screen.

I'm thinking great I did it! While it's loading I hear my character still getting hit...rogue zombie? Loading, Loading, Loading...I hear Claire die so I had to select retry while the screen is black and it still says the game is loading. Then it restarts me back at the checkpoint in Chapter 1... fuck you!

The only thing I can figure is I went through the door as Moira instead of Claire so maybe that screwed me? Guess I'll give it another go at lunch. Ugh.

Pshh.....happy STFU day!
Step 1 of the development process for that game was probably to think of an acronym that would tick people off if they asked someone via chat/text what they were playing.

Dude 1: hey wat u playin

Dude 2: STFU

Dude 1: WTF

Not to destroy your premise, but the game was originally called Super Time Force. They added the "Ultra" subtitle later, probably after realizing that the abbreviation for their game was STF.

If you would have read the blog post about the game I posted last week (http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/08/27/14-totally-true-facts-about-super-time-force-ultra/)%C2

Other names considered were:

  • Re/Run (in hindsight, this is a rad name!)
  • The Endless 6 (when we thought we’d only have 6 characters)
  • Timeliners
  • Super Time Defenders (this didn’t abbreviate well)
  • Space Heroes In Time (this also didn’t abbreviate well)
EDIT: Tyler'd

Gamers sure do like to whine about shit, huh? Everyone is going ape shit over the new Deus Ex preorder promotions.

It's so easy to just not pre-order and move on with your life if you're not interested. But I swear gamers just love to get themselves super riled up over things that don't affect them anyway.

I did not even know there was a deal at best buy where you save $10 on Mad Max when you buy it with the movie until after I already bought them.  Maybe they felt bad for me since I didn't get in on the half off glitch.

These kinda snuck in under the radar.

Two Star Wars skin packs for Minecraft.  Original Trilogy and Rebels.  Out now.

I was mostly in it just to show how much better I am than Tyler. And then he dropped after 1 week. I would've stayed in actually, but last week kind of got away from me.

Real life is getting on the way of me playing MGS. I sank 4 hours into that bad boy and I can understand all the 40+ hour reviews. To all those who were worried; wait until you see.

Not looking forward to trying to get the $10 on the Mad Max Blu Ray with my online store pickup order.... recently the manager at my Best Buy has been a bitch.  She has horrible resting bitch face and I think she hates her job.

If by stinker you mean LONG ASS PLAT then yeah its gonna be a long grind to plat. But based on all the reviews its far from a stinker. Its just a basic open world action game that some found to be tedious and devoid of story or character or something.

I dont mind LONG ASS PLAT if it is Just Cause 2 kind of fun. It the combat is shallow and repetitive with tons of driving everywhere that extends the long ass time for no reason but game lengthening, then I would likely pass.

For the most part I don't care about the pre-order exclusives (I don't collect stuff). Don't care about a specific gun, or skins pack or some lame challenge map. I rather pay $48 at BB vs $59.99 elsewhere. If I love the game I will play it probably trade it back in and wait for a GOTY edition which usually includes any content I care about. Most season passes are too expensive anyway.

But honestly there are only a handful of games do I ever even play all the DLC anyway.

Yeah, I've started doing in store preorders. A bunch of people at my best buy know and like me, so I figured it'd be easier for potential price adjustments than having to call customer service and spend 10 years on the phone while they don't know their own price match policy/GCU rules.

It's really worked out for me this week with this Mad Max deal and the Disney Infinity deal (buy any 3 DI 3.0 things and get the 4th free). You get the preorder bonuses, but you also aren't technically buying it until it releases and can get in on the release day deals too.

Yup, I'll be trying for that when I go to Best Buy today. I have an in store preorder on the game and a separate in store pre order of the movie (bought it a few weeks ago so I could watch the digital copy right away). My Best Buy is pretty chill so I'm thinking I can get them to just take $10 off one of them and not have to cancel anything. Reports in the preorder thread is that the deal wasn't stacking with GCU so having them do it this manual way is in my best interest.

why are you interested in it? not being snarky, seriously curious what's in it that might be worth it. I think it'll probably be a low print run being console exclusive in a slightly niche genre but I thought it was basically an art book, digital soundtrack and the statue. is there more?
Cuz I got money to blow

I'm feeling like shit. Think I caught something from my kid. I feel like I could get away with working anyway, but I am seriously tempted to milk this shit and take a sick day tomorrow to play MGS5.

Important question: when a game asks you to adjust the slider until the logo is barely visible, do you all actually do that?
Maybe not to the point where the game recommends (if they say to go until one image is completely non-visible, I leave the slider a bit higher so I can barely see the image), but otherwise yeah.

Shame, considering the source material is so good. The reviews make it seem like a lifeless Batman clone. And I know a lot of people here loved the Batmobile, so match made in heaven? Hahaha.

I preordered the game ($5 down), but not the blu ray. Paid for both of them together. The $10 came off the game and stacked with the GCU discount without me having to do anything.

What the hell? Somebody already made a video showing all the boss fights from MGS V. 1h15m and 1080p/60fps.

I adjust it so that I can really see it. Then if it is too bright in a bright white scene I may back it down a bit. Games that are too dark where you can't see what is going on does not create ambiance, it creates anger because I can't fucking see.

IT sounds like this one is a terrible grind that you wont like. Ill see though.

The car combat is supposedly really good. Even a review I read that gave the game a 6 said it was fun. Just repetitive.

But we all know every game is repetitive.

This is not true at all. Tetris is a great example otherwise. There are countess variations for how the blocks can fit together on that screen.

I changed that comment before I saw your post and I know your just being yourself but I got bored of tetris after a few days when I was 8 and havent played it since.
