I picked up Max Payne at the last sale. Haven't gotten to it. Not sure what I paid so not sure if it is a slap to the face or not.

I agree on Saints Row 4. I know it didn't get as much love as SR3 but I thought it was fun.

Speaking of cheating, it seems like FFX allows you to transfer saves on plus. That leads me to believe some save scumming/hacking could be undertaken with that game - for example, downloading a save that is one node away from a perfect sphere in order to eliminate the grind for the perfect sphere grid trophy.

Can't imagine too many people are willing to pass around a save like that, though.

True enough, I had to look it up. Just the rails shooters, survivor games and Code Veronica besides the numbered titles and I doubt they'd mess with those. And Mercenaries 3ds which would've been awesome if it didn't suck but re6 Mercenaries mode was a good apology.
 
I didn't realize Shantae is old pixel art overlayed with new (and hideous) PS4 graphics for the character dialogue and dialogue boxes. The newer stuff on top of the pixel art just doesn't work for me. Skip to around 4:50 to see some examples.

$3 sounded like it might be worth picking up, but unless people in here chime in about amazing gameplay I think I'll pass.

I like the pixelish 16-bit art style of shantae.  I mean other than it being that played out cutesy quasi-anime cartoon style that nerds love drawing so much.  It took me forever in that video to find some non-dialogue gameplay though which is an insta-pass.  I don't want to read my games, dammit!

I don't get what you're saying. The character portraits were in the original DS version too during dialogue sections. And I don't think they're hideous at all. And I also don't know why visuals during dialogue would ever turn someone off during a game since they have almost no effect on the actual game or anything at all.

If you're interested in any of those clearance vita games at TRU, the one in brookfield has thag spiderman game and fifa 14 for 9.98...I was hoping to snag lego hobbit but they didn't have it. There was a clearance tag for arkham origins or whatever for 7.98

I don't know anything about the game's origins. I'm just going on what's in the video, and I don't care much either for the pixel style (some games I like, but not this one) nor the dialogue which looks amateur both in appearance and in the way it overlays the pixel graphics. $3 isn't much, but I've got enough stuff to play already that I don't feel the need to grab something that looks unappealing. :nottalking:

 
kingdom hearts nerds: there's a rumor unearthed by some guy's resume that a kingdom hearts 2.9 is in production for ps3/ps4.   it has 'attraction flow' whatever that means.

It's a bit more wordy in the beginning than a lot of indies, but it's definitely not dialogue heavy throughout the game. The video is called "First Hour" so it goes through the entire intro of the game.

You guys are finding some weird ass shit to nitpick about Shantae.

I played some Shantae game on DS and I wasn't crazy about it. I don't remember the cutscenes at all, though. It was one of those games where I was wandering trying to figure out where I was supposed to go next.

Funnily enough when I watch it in this instead of the full-size youtube window it looks a lot better outside of the gross dialogue. I guess that puts me in the "it belongs on Vita" crowd. If it were on Vita at $3 I'd actually buy this. I'd yell at Tyler if it were dialogue-heavy past the first hour, though. They did state it's coming to Vita but despite the million times they've been asked about cross-buy I can't find a single response regarding it. I tweeted to ask. Not expecting a response, though.

Thanks for the heads up, but I don't have a Vita. I haven't been to that TRU in ages, but whenever I went I never found anything clearance priced. I think I got a few games from that Sears though.

But then I saw the demo gameplay for 1/2 genie hero.  Holy cow.

Thats alright, not like I was going to do much anyway. This is my first time playing FF in over a decade. Last time I played it they didnt have any of this fancy shit that we have now. I think it was like pick two guys and a D and thats it.

This is like a test run for me to see if I want to get into more next year. I tried looking at the app last night and got tired of reading shit after about 10 minutes. Although at least I dropped one of the guys I had that is on IR.

Okay, this one actually looks great. The little transformation dance is great and the graphics are tons better in general. The character animations are actually prety adorable even when she turns into a crab. I'll buy Risky if they confirm cross-buy to help support this one coming to Vita as well.

Yeah and I was just reading the news for my players that were injured or questionable and it was tiresome. I really need to look at Zimm's lineup and our opponents to make an educated lineup but whatever that seems like work...

 
Actually I can't find anything confirming Risky's Revenge was ever announced for any PS device other than PS4.  I'd checked pst.org and it does show PS3/PS4/PSV for Risky's Revenge, but I think they just got that wrong. Google and Wiki just turn up PS4 info for it. Just Half-Genie Hero was announced for all platforms. Oh well--back to passing on it.

I played it on Gamecube and I really should play it again...such an amazing game. I'd take a PS4 remaster with open arms.

Yeah I had the same experience. Just wasn't much fun.

That updated half minute hero or whatever looked a lot better.

 
Did they add more stuff to the sale? Pretty sure I didn't see Q-Bert Rebooted at $4 before. Might have to grab that one! Ikari Warriors for $0.60! Damn...that one too.
