Does anyone know how the PUR points at Gamestop are awarded.  Is it a point per dollar or what?  I ask because I am real close to a $15 off an item and I was wondering if it might be worth it to buy a couple DI figures for the kids since they are on a pretty good sale to get me up to that level.

Never mind, I found the right question in the FAQ finally.

That's an easy one. Show your PowerUp Rewards card or give us your membership number when you make a purchase at a participating GameStop store, and you'll automatically score points for every $1 spent. This little chart breaks it down:

  • 10 points per dollar spent on all new games and consoles
  • 20 points per dollar spent on pre-owned games, accessories and consoles
  • 20 points per dollar on traded-in games or consoles
  • Up to 500 points for setting up your account online, completing your profile and establishing your Game Library

How beefed up is your max? I routinely get this with his fury meter maxed, you do it through the guy with the backpack, Griffa. Max out the time the meter stays up and it will last a good while.

Best place is the stank gum camps, and of those the ones in pink eye (might only be 1 or 2) that are 5 skull difficulty.

Man it took me a few tries to get it where the video Vig posted said to do it. I just cant keep the timing down and someone always seems to take a run at me from off screen which hits me and takes alot of the rage meter with it. I am glad I got it so I can stop worrying about it now and finish the game.

I just cleared the last area from threat (have to go back to the others) and completed all projects for each stronghold. Still havent finished Act 3.

Yea im working on getting areas in pink eye cleared and all the camps, scarecrows, etc.

Not sure why you guys are having issues with that 8 kills in one fury, like I said I got it all the time in camps, but I saved the hardest camps until after fully upgrading max. Biggest thing I think is the fury meter upgrades through Griffa.

Fully upgraded doesnt matter when you get hit and lose a lot of the meter. I would get hit by one of the dudes running at me that you cant parry or someone would hit me from off screen due to camera issues.

Yea that shit is the worst. Gotta learn to stick and move, throw a few punches and r1 roll around, throw some more, get a couple guys with shivs, couple ground fury kills.

Yeah, that's what I was using her as. Kinda sucks though when she kills someone the whole base goes on alert whereas the dog can stealth kill someone who gets in my way. I haven't tried D-Walker yet. I'm two bonds way from maxing D-Horse so I may just go that route first. Although to be fair the first mission I used Quiet on I did S-Rank with no major issues.

I only played for a bit last night to pop an easy trophy. I actually like the collectible stuff and the combat will be better when I get some upgrades but not a huge fan of the driving. I'll still play through it for sure but probably not gonna try for the plat.

 
Babies are so magical amazing. My lil 1y/o just woke me up kissing my nose and poking my eyes :)

I haven't either, even though I got the first one right when it came out. I played the first level and just immediately lost interest for some reason. I recall buying it with the Viper 330 card because I needed the upgrade, too.

I should probably go back and give the series another try just because of how well it's still viewed.

You never changed to the alternate control scheme where R1 = Shoot and Hoop = Dodge/Roll?

Vig, thanks for reposting the video.  I missed it the first time around since I was at work.  I already cleared that specific place out though.

Kilik, like pharm said, I always get hit by one dumb punch here and there and it ends my fury.  I don't dodge as much in fury because I start panicking since I need to kill 8 dudes before it runs out.  My max is totally maxed out though.  Hopefully it'll just come up soon.

 
Pulled the trigger on another PS3 for the kids.  I had $75 in gift cards and enough PUR points for $10 off so I didn't have to spend much cash.  Compared to what it would have cost me for a used console I am extremely happy with getting a new one for so little cash.  

Yes, I know I could have used the Gamestop credit for something else, but I generally only buy hardware or accessories from there now anyway.  I am not doing full on CAG math and claiming I only paid $30.

 
I'm still surprised at that 12gb model. Seems a bit insane to put out a version that doesn't have enough space to install quite a few of the system titles.  :whistle2:k

 
Dear lord, Monster Monopiece is incredibly boring.

Think it's time to delete that.

On a positive note, I did finish off Sly: Thieves in Time last night. Without opening a single safe; which I don't think has happened to me in a Sly game before.

 
my wife is awesome. just walked in the door with a bunch of gifts. fallout 3 goty, skyrim and fallout new vegas guides, all look great and maps in the back of books, some zombies board game, a brothers grimm fairy tale collection book and some other misc stuff. She hit us up a garage sale and they were getting rid of stuff and she got a ton for $5. She said she was gonna get some lotr and star wars stuff they had but she didn't have any more room to get stuff. too cool

 
Well fuck me. NFS most wanted crashed on me. I started it back up and lost hours of progress. I swear the autosaves icon pops up after every race. fuck.

I grew up FSU fan. Went to usf. But I really just want a team from Florida to have a chance at a national championship. So I want FSU to win. But they look terrible so far today. Most likely took uaf lightly though. Expect it to be more lopsided in second half

Usf is terrible on offense but has a decent defense due to athleticism and a coach coming from ole Miss.

Damn, was hoping DS2: Scholar of the First Sin for PS3 was just a bundle with the game and the 3 DLC so that I could just download the 3 unlock codes, but it's its own application so I have to download the whole thing in order to play the DLC.

Scholar of the first sin is a revamped version. The enemy placements etc are all different from the original, among other things.
