This seems interesting. I'm not sure how it works, but I guess it's a story scenario where you're hunting Jack? How if fits in with Syndicate isn't exactly clear from the trailer. I suppose you could be playing as Jack instead, but that seems like something that would get the studio some bad publicity.

Looks like this is new stuff rather than PS4 remakes of the 1.5 and 2.5 collections. No idea what any of these games are other than DDD (3DS game from 2012), but maybe somebody in here has a clue.

Another samurai game announcement, this one from Ubisoft. If this is gameplay then it's pretty goddamn amazing, graphically:

Actually it was announced at E3 and I just don't remember seeing it. Here's the e3 video:

Gameplay:

The e3 video description and wiki makes it sound like it's MP only. If that's the case then there goes my interest even though knight, samurai, and viking teams sounds pretty cool.

How was this on Vita? Any stupid Vita-specific controls? Wondering if I should wait for the PS4 version or just tackle the Vita version I got from Plus:

Tokyo Xanadu (PSV):

This one actually looks pretty decent with the anime styling and live combat footage. I thought it was going to be more similar to Freedom Wars.

I'm kinda surprised the PS4 got a price drop in Japan with as much as it's dominating the market. Last month's NPD numbers had PS4 ahead by 810,000 for lifetime sales just in USA; XB1 will definitely drop this xmas, but I wonder if it will be to $300 or if they'll be more agressive. Not sure how much an XB1 costs them to make, but at this point it seems operating at a loss is probably their only way to keep up.

It has been a couple years, though, so maybe they've got a new version release coming up. Not sure if they could improve the hardware from a functional standpoint while still maintaining full compatibility or if they're locked into just making efficiency changes (Slim models, etc..)

Edit: So that's 25 posts. I'll let you guys wake up a bit now.  :whistle2:

Edit2: It's old, but there was a breakdown of manufacturing cost for XB1 back in 2013. At the time it cost an estimated $471 to make each unit. That was with Kinect taking up $75 of the cost. PS4 was $380 back then. I'm curious as to how much each system has dropped over time, but can't find any articles going back to the subject.

Are you trying to break CAG with all these video embeds?

One "game" is cutscenes from another upcoming mobile game (ugh) and the other is a bridge between KH:BBS and KH3.

Hah. No. I didn't realize quite how many videos/posts that was until I was done. This page is almost done already anyway, so they'll drop off soon.

Dream Drop Distance has a 23-hour main story according to HLTB. I guess that gives it a legitimate amount of content. 1 and 2 weren't much longer. Unless that bridge game has some significant gameplay, though, the collection is going to be pretty light compared to 1.5 and 2.5. Wonder if it'll be full-priced or lower. Also curious as to whether KH 2.8 will be the first (AFAIK) PS4 game not on PSN.

Stotch actually mild's comment. I didn't realize he was still watching in here.

It's an odd title, yeah, though I'd assume the final chapter is KH3, since all the 2.8 content leads into the upcoming game. I wonder if that means that KH 3 will be it, with no more of these little 3DS and mobile games and such afterwards.

I'm pretty sure there were touch controls, but I didn't find Gravity Rush nearly as hard to control as some have said here.

Also, we're getting the remaster (which comes with the 3 DLC packs that the Vita version got) on 2/9/16: http://www.dualshockers.com/2015/09/15/gravity-rush-remastered-releasing-in-february-for-north-america/

GL finding a copy of Liberation, kilik. It's pretty decent. Free run isn't as good as rogue and the costume bit is annoying, but I liked it otherwise. I got every trophy but the MP ones and enjoyed the process quite a bit overall.

It's a shame some of these big Western 3d games never went anywhere on Vita. Liberation and Golden Abyss were both quite solid. Further iterations with some of the stupid Vita-specific functionality toned down would have been very welcome.
$17.97 new at GameStop and $13.49 for used if you are PUR. Not sure I would go to far out of my way to save a buck or two going to Target in hope of finding a copy. I was going to try and stop there over the weekend but never got up that way. Might go after work if brickseek still shows MGS for Vita in stock when I leave work. Shows 1 saleable and 1 on hand as of last night and again just now. $30 at GS so worth a look. I need a few other things I could get there.

If I remember correctly, Gravity Rush had way more gyro controls then it did touch controls. Because I remember feeling like a dumbass trying to play a good portion of it on the bus.

I remember having trouble getting into the demo back in the day at GS because of this. No idea if it's all gyro or if there are optional control schemes for that stuff. Hopefully the latter.

during the skating parts of gravity rush you have to use the gyro to shift left and right if I remember right.  that did suck.

some cool stuff in that barrage of trailers therm posted.  the wtf award goes to that resident evil mp only game that's like a spiritual successor to the vs modes in operation raccoon city.  there has to be literally no demand for that in the market but amazingly it actually looks entertaining.  It seems that the players have backpacks that keep zombies at bay that you can sabotage which is hilarious.

tokyo xanadu, world of final fantasy, 13 sentinel and (of course) hot shots golf are the most interesting to me.  fortunately we'll certainly see at least two of those stateside.

I'm putting sony's suspend feature to the test today - I got to the very last boss of re rev 2 and spent probably 10-15 minutes shoving my way through it.  I think I probably had one or two shots left on her when my kids came downstairs.  I'm not quite ready for my 3/4 year old kids to deal with geysers of blood spraying from the bullet holes in a giant monster so I paused and suspended it.  I have yet to have a game on disc suspend reliably so I'm not hopeful, but it'd be nice if I could just load it up and finish it later instead of going through all the nonsense again.

I took another look at the Anniversary sale games and I think I'm gonna pass on everything.  Was thinking about Q*Bert, but I'll wait for the inevitable $1 flash.  And had Super Puzzle Fighter II HD Remix Deluxe Royale with Cheese Upgrade Mega Edition Esquire in my cart until I realized #notrophies.

Damn that "Therm!" trophy is going to be hard to earn. I won't be going for it and I hope nobody else here does either. 25 posts in a row wtf!

Eh. It's all stuff that would have gotten posted throughout the day as people woke up and went and looked for TGS videos. Now nobody has to go looking for it. :)

yeah my shitty phone had no problem at all.  I was also simultaneously looking at porn and listening to taylor swift and it handled all that too.  git gd phnz nubs

I wonder if this upcoming Mana Vita game will be any good. I'd love to see something new close to the quality of SD1 or SD2 as a Vita-native game. Secret of Mana was easily top 5 for me on SNES and Final Fantasy Adventure was one of the few original Gameboy games I got into enough to finish and definitely my favorite game for it. Seems like there's been quite a few Mana games since and that most of them have been received poorly, though.

Dear Diary,

I've tried so hard to get a handle on my PS3 backlog while keeping somewhat current with PS4 stuff. I was doing great. PSN keeps having sales forcing me to buy PS3 stuff when I know I shouldn't. The PS4 tidal wave has started without any signs of slowdown. Most of the members in the PSNOT 2.0 thread are cyborgs not only playing a lot but 100%ing and Platinum(ing) a bunch of games. With a family and responsibility how will I ever keep up? The Vita only gets me so far. Sigh.

I'll snag one for you when they drop. One store here hasn't marked any of them and they have about 30 games including a handful of minecraft. Stubbornly still at 50% off today though.

I discovered tonight that I only have 6 or 7 ps3 discs left. I thought it might be fun to try to just burn through em but they're all pretty long I think:
- shadows of the damned (one play through is probably short)
If you are just wanting one playthrough to experience it, easy would be a really quick as you wouldn't need many upgrades, which requires finding gems, to beat it. If you find you really like it and want to go for the plat it wouldn't be a wasted playthrough since you have to beat all 3 difficulties for the plat anyway because the trophies don't stack.

My times:

8 hours for initial normal playthrough,

7.5 hours for the hard playthrough (1 hour of which was red gem farming via the save glitch)

4.5 hours for the easy playthrough
