That Brewers pitcher, Nelson, is lucky to have only suffered a bruise after he took a 104 mph drive shot off the side of his head tonight against the Cardinals.  He was able to walk off the field under his own power.

Okay I finished all the camps and scavenge locations in madmax and not one single location looked the same. Impressive.

Now all I have left are some minefields, challenges and archangel races. Problem is I have no scrap left and still need a good amount go buy more parts to build the archangels. The guys on pst seem to think you will have a shit ton left at end game but I don't. Strange.

The way the Brewers luck is with pitchers he will go on to suck with the Brewers, get traded to the Cardinals and then help them win another World Series.

I thought you were lying because they suck but nope, there it is. I guess no one told the GM that they're not contenders. And yes he's under contract for 3 more years and Darvish comes back next year but eh, I'm not feeling it.
Six weeks later and look at them now, you dummy!

Yeah I've just been signing in every now and then so I can get that sweet afk scrap. Sadly it looks like it maxes at 500 scrap per location.

@gator

I'm not trying to start something but that's not something you usually see from most sites, and it's obvious how much most staffs opinions differ internally when they do their end of the year wrap ups and awards. I don't think you mean it to be, but putting it on his review kind of undermines the fact that it was his assignment and seems a little disrespectful.
We actually discussed it ahead of time, I said he's more than welcome to do a "second opinion" of sorts on the game, but we couldn't figure out how we wanted to format it or if we even wanted to do it.

If we didn't talk about it ahead of time and he just did it without my knowledge or approval, I think it could definitely come off as a bit disrespectful.

The movement in the upcoming Attack on Titan game looks a lot more faithful and fun than I had expected them to manage.

Yeah, I didn't realize that you two had discussed it. Makes sense, but if you decide to go that route it might look better to include second opinions at the the end of the review rather than in the comments... I think egm did something similar at one point.

Plague Knight is kinda easy. His movement is totally different than Shovel Knight, but dude can go pretty much anywhere even before you get any upgrades and his attacks destroy bosses pretty quick.

Beat the last story mission (46) in MGS. That was... interesting. Leaves me with a few questions. Mission 45 was really great. To all other MGS guys, make sure you youtube the final story mission/cutscene that got cut from the game (either for time or money reasons). I'm dumbfounded that it didn't make it in as it is pretty important.

Makes sense. I had mentioned to him about possibly having a dissenting opinion from him on it and he had already mentioned about how I could add it in comments. I would not have done it without that first, but nobody here knew that conversation had happened so I understand what you are saying here.

After reading his review, I think it covered all the points about the issues. I would have given it a lower score due to those, but I have no real issue with what he gave the game in the end.

EDIT: Tyler'd.

What the hell guys? We have a disagreement about something, discuss it calmly, gather the facts, and then see & understand where everyone is coming through?

Where's the name calling? Or the wife/partner shaming? What's happening to this thread?!?!?

this thread definitely needs more wife/partner shaming

mgs folks:

am I supposed to know who any of these people are?  I know ocelot sort of and I'm assuming kaz is an old cohort from a previous game - but the fire guy?  the floating girl in the straight jacket?  the bandage faced guy that saves you in the hospital?  the army that's trying to kill you in the hospital?  am I missing vital background info there?  I definitely don't have the nuts to play through the first four games but if anyone wants to share anything I'm missing there I'd be much obliged.

also, do you eventually get out of afghanistan?  every screenshot I've ever seen of the game has been with that landscape, I hope there's slightly more variety in the environments.

Kaz is from Peace Walker, but you aren't supposed to know who the other three guys are yet (though the floating guy might be a young Psycho Mantis; that's just my theory). The army belongs to Cipher, an organization that destroyed Big Boss's & Kaz's mercenary operation MSF (Militaire Sans Frontieres, or Soldiers Without Borders) nine years ago at the end of Ground Zeroes, and they want to kill Big Boss by any means necessary. The original leader of Cipher is Zero, an old buddy of Big Boss's from MGS3, but he hasn't been seen or heard from in years and it doesn't seem like he's actually running Cipher anymore.

Eventually you'll get to Africa, but I don't know when or whether it looks much different from Afghanistan.

I got through the first tutorial in Minecraft Vita. I've already played more minecraft then I've ever played before! Started the 2nd part and tamed the horse, but then it didn't seem to continue the tutorial. Hmm. Maybe it will pop up the next step when I fire it up again.

I'll take all opportunities to talk MGS!

Wait, just saw Vig answer most of your questions while I was writing a response. I think he's got you covered. There is a ton of kinda confusing story that happened in other games, but Phantom Pain's tale is largely self contained. Certain reveals/story points probably won't make sense to you, but you should be fine. Gameplay is king in this one.

A Horse? I guess they have made new additions since I played it. There were cows before and a lot of other animals, but there weren't horses.

Yeah, I know everyone said it but I was really pleased to see that my preferred method of playing stealth (trying to be stealthy until I mess up or get bored and then start shooting everyone with reckless abandon) works quite well in mgs5. I know I'll never S rank everything (or anything at this rate) and I'm good with that. I suspect my poor skill level will keep the difficulty scaling in check too which is perfect (although I'll probably always have low level people at my base).

Yippie ki-yay mother fuck er! First time I tried to tame the horse I didn't notice that there was a zombie dude right near it and every time I'd get tossed from the horse I thought I was getting hurt by being tossed, but it was the zombie attacking me. I thought mobs weren't supposed to be out in the daytime? But I see there's a trophy about curing a zombie villager so I guess that's what it was. I started trying to attack him but died. He was dead after I respawned.

Zombie Villager should only be out in the night as well. I am not sure why there would have been a zombie around in the day time unless you were underground.

Actually, if you continue to "shoot everyone with reckless abandon", there's the chance that enemies will later start wearing body armor to make it more difficult to kill them.

Also as an FYI, the quality of soldiers you can recruit out in the field is tied to your Heroism score. Make sure you get the Analyzer upgrade for your binoculars ASAP so you can tell from a distance whether a soldier is worth Fultoning out of there.

Totally. Being stealthy gets much easier as you unlock more/better equipment. And you'll get buddies besides the horse that will make your life a whole lot easier. Not to mention how much easier reflex mode makes everything. There were a bunch of times where I just walked right up to a gaurd, entered slow mo cuz he saw me, head-shotted him with my tranq gun, then walked up to the next nearest guard and did the same thing. I've never cared about trying to get S rank or no detection and all that, but after awhile I found myself getting it by accident.

From the Rocket League post. This is good, though I'm still kinda burnt out from getting my ass kicked in online play.

These variants are the last “regulation-style” maps you’ll see for while, by the way, as our next few arenas after that will focus on more “unusual” layouts and settings (more on those later this year).
And the new DLC will have 5 new trophies.
