How do you start it off? I need to talk to them about my bill since it has gone up and I'm really bad at these conversions.
Start by flat out telling them you want to cancel your service; that helps you get past all the dicking around. Get an idea of what other providers are offering so you know you're at least getting what the competition is offering if not better.

Are you Borderlands people excited for Battleborn or indifferent? I don't seem to see a lot of hype about it.
I actually just signed up for the beta...

I signed up for the Beta too, I got the email a few days ago. I'm all about Gearbox for anything they create in house. Borderlands is easily my favorite game of last gen, and newer IP in general. I have confidence they'll strike gold again.

my son is just overjoyed that claptrap is a playable character in borderlands tps. he also started up playing as wilhelm cuz he has flying robots. that boy sure loves his robots

when target does these cartwheel coupons like the halloween at 40% off (thanks for the heads up by the way), do you know how they correlate products with the coupon?  it's one thing when it's 10% off of honey nut cheerios which has a small handful of upcs but for an entire department is it associated with every single upc or is there some other logic behind it?  just curious.

Curious about that potentially-stacking GS promo situation. Best that I can see happening is 6 games for $20, with the additional 2 games not being restricted to the buy 4 for $20 promo. Last 2 games wouldn't be restricted to the list, though they'd have to cost

Someone posted this on another gaming website I frequent.  I thought you guys might get a kick out of it.  The God of War special edition controller.

If you are responsible for the 40 percent off carthweel msg I just got, then screw you.

Thought we got insider knowledge, but no. All those damn stay at home moms will have target picked clean before I can make it there tonight.

I sent my wife up there this morning because I'm a total baller. I'll go up at lunch just to get some super sweet desk candy.

Finally hit floor 30 on Heroes of Loot. Died almost immediately after lol. Valk run, the magic power on her is stupid lol. Maxed out at like 3k monsters, dunno that I'm gonna be able to get the 5k killed trophy.

I actually think the isolated farmland side of kansas is pretty amazing.  seeing a relatively flat and empty landscape that fills your vision to the horizon like an ocean is worth experiencing at least once.

It's the cities and towns that are awful.  once you go west of Lawrence it's pretty much game over.  not much better on the missouri side either; once I'm outside of KC limits I just find everything to be so sad looking.  I think I've been to probably 30+ states in the US and a handful of other countries and I can say pretty confidently that I'd rather be in any of those places than Kansas.  except New Jersey.

multi-region account support is the big news there it sounds like

edit - ok, I caught up. they were able to manipulate the pstv whitelist which certainly makes that thing more useful (although I have no idea what the 'virtual touchscreen' they were talking about is)

My god I have such a hard time reading these message boards. Forgetting the broken english from the guys that are clearly not american I still cant tell what the fuck these people are talking about other than the Vita is hacked. The rest is just jibberish. How do you all read these things?

When an offer is created, we can associate any number of DCPIs to the offer through our offer management tool. You can get a general idea with the new store map feature on the barcode page because that shows items by DCPI.

I don't work too much in that area (just enough to put in test data when needed), but I know these lists can grow quite large. Not sure if they do anything different for these "all books/movies/electronics/boots" deals since that's obviously a lot of products.

Not responsible for the push besides testing that it works. Thanks for confirmation!

tl;dr

multi region support, psp emu (for upscaling and texture fix and junk mostly), using the email app to get it to the vita.

vaguely confusing, but they repeat it enough times over 3 or so pages that you can pick up on what they're talking about. seems like there's a way to get old nintendo games there too 'cause one of the psp emus can run them? not quite clear on that part.

Edit: oh and it looks like custom themes/bubbles and the pstv can run games that were previously unplayable? That parts interesting as fuck, because my copy of the ratchet and clank collection would love to have a word with the DS4.

yeah, I guess one of the psp emulators could also run gba games. I don't know why that of all things gives these guys such massive erections but more power to em. If they managed to get nes/snes or mame I'd be pretty happy since that would basically make the pstv the coolest $20 emulator ever. I don't see that happening any time soon since the hacks so far are mostly ridiculous, only one thing that seemed sort of concrete.

yeah after the first page of posts I had to stop reading. Made my head hurt.

I don't read those sites actually. I just ran into the links on another site that I do. Scanned it briefly and posted it here since I thought others might be interested.

The 40% off cartwheel thingy doesnt say Disney costumes are excluded so I hope that means I can get the one my daughter wants at lunch.  It says in stock right now on the website but I got to get there before the soccer moms cleared out everything.

Also, fuck work for having an 11am meeting so I cant go to lunch early.

Make sure to scan it first to be sure!

Ah, ok. So you hold l3+r3 and move to emulate the touch screen on pstv. Netflix works this way too.

Oh and apparently you can give yourself trophies?

From GBATemp:

You may want to change this thread's title as it's highly misleading.

These "tricks" revolve around the same bug in the Email app that has been in use for PSM+. At a first glance, the bug itself is pretty limited, but mr.gas came up with some interesting ideas to use it.

First and foremost, this doesn't allow homebrew/piracy/CFW or any other kind of advancement on Vita hacking, so the title is greatly exaggerated.

Yes, you can dump files. The Email app doesn't parse file paths properly and let's you attach any file from inside the Vita's NAND file system.

Can you do anything useful with them? No. All the relevant files are encrypted, including files dumped from cartridges.

Yes, you can write to files inside the Vita's file system. This is only allowed for user partitions, which means, you can't write to anything particularly relevant. Plus, the Vita wouldn't deal with unsigned files. Same concept applies for deleting files.

However, certain files are handled completely unencrypted in the Vita's file system. Files like XMLs, databases and part of the registry.

Can you "blow the Vita wide open" with this? Of course not.

Nonetheless, you can still achieve some nice workarounds for things that Sony doesn't want us to have. That's where mr.gas and Major_Tom were truly ingenious.

By modifying certain database files you can have certain applications accessing files that they shouldn't be accessing. Obviously, the Vita protects most of those accesses, plus, those database files can be regenerated from recovery mode (that serves to demonstrate how unimportant they actually are).

Themes, for example, come from unencrypted XML files (not counting with PFS encryption, which is not applied when the Email app messes with files): http://vitadevwiki.com/index.php?title=Themes#theme.xml_structure

If you modify them, you can make your own theme. "Bubbles" follow the same logic.

Package installation is also limited. What's new is the ability to call it again on firmwares that blocked it.

Cartridge backup installation is not what you think it is. This something that mr.gas found while messing around with game files.

It revolves around copying license files so the Vita starts a game from it's own file system, instead of reading the cartridge.

However, this requires the original cartridge to be inserted first, then removed, each time you want to start the game. This is merely a proof of concept and can't really be exploited any further.

Free trophies, again, follow the same logic. Modifying trophy files gives you any trophy you want. These files are not protected, since they aren't really important.

The highlight, in my opinion, is the PSTV whitelist bypass. Essentially because Sony could have just, well, allowed any game to work?

The logic is the same. You modify an unprotected file (in this case it's list_launch_vita.dat) and you're done.

Registry edition is also possible due to part of the registry being saved in plain format (for logical reasons).

If you play around enough with this, you can easily achieve things like region spoofing and account switching, since most of that data is stored in plain database files that can be edited with this bug.

In older firmwares (3.01 and less) you could also pass specific arguments to the "pspemu". This would let you install an ePSP CFW without using any exploit game.

Another interesting tidbit, Yifan Lu originally published this file list for us to blindly dump files using the bug: http://yifan.lu/2014/10/17/ps-vita-3-30-filesystem-listing/

"However, now there’s reports of people obtaining the facility to dump files from the Vita file system."

Anyway, don't expect anything else coming from this particular bug. It was published now due to people finally stopped updating their consoles to use Rejuvenate. The bug is incredibly simple and will certainly be patched on the next firmware release.

If you're wondering how I know all this, I was one of the first people to know about and use this bug.

All of those "hacks" are, of course, real. Please support mr.gas and Major_Tom, their findings and nifty tricks have helped the Vita scene a lot.

I hope you are right. Just not feeling this one yet from the game play videos I have seen.
