I would rank GTA (Open world, not top down) for me: Vice City, GTA V, San Andreas, GTA IV, and then GTA III

The story and soundtrack for Vice City was amazing!  Loved getting to do the 80's things.  V is a masterpiece with so much to do and the story is pretty interesting.  Trevor makes this game with his insanity.  San Andreas was huge, almost too big.  But the story and voice actors (Samual mother  fuck jackson) made that game perfect.  GTA IV was good, but I never got pulled into that story.  GTA III is more nostalgic and really aged horrible.  Story was ok, but the fact that the main character couldn't talked lost it for me.

1. GTA III- probably spent the most time playing this than any other PS2 game. It just blew my mind when it came out the amount of side stuff to do and explore. Only way I could see ranking any ahead of it is if you didn't play it when it first came out.
2. Vice City- Great. Improved from gta 3, but mostly more of the same.
3. San Andreas- Probably would be #2 if I finishes it. I gave up on the mission trying to fly the plane. Got frustrated and never came back to it. Enjoyed what I played though. Never got to see Vegas in the game! A for sure buy if that ps3 version comes out.
4. GTA iv- Was decent, but got old pretty fast. Worst characters of all of them. Actually enjoyed the DLC a lot though.
5. GTA V- haven't played. I figured I'd wait to play it on ps4

Crazy if you were alive in the 80s you would have ranked vice city ahead of gta 3. Gta 3 was a game changer but vice city improved on everything and captured the 80s more perfectly than any other game ever has captured a time period.

I do say, driving motorcycles for the first time in vice City was pretty fuck ing awesome. I remember in gta 3 what I loved was how different each of the islands were. The excitement to check each one out as they were unlocked was great. New cars, new places to explore, new things to do.

The only part of GTA III that I truly enjoyed:

Otherwise, Vice City is my favorite even though I never finished the storyline (damn you, Miss Cleo).

I didn't like the eating mechanics in San Andreas and dropped it pretty fast.

GTA IV is part of the backlog. Heard mixed things about it.

High round zombie play is fucking insane. Most of the time, I just go for the trophies so I don't really care about surviving as long possible, but when fully upgraded wonder weapons start requiring several shots to kill I don't see how people do it. 20/20 trophy wasn't as bad as I thought, though. I was expecting to have to survive round 35+ to get it but got it about 28 playing solo. Just need the easter egg

EDIT: Thanks Velo

Only GTA I've played is Vice City and I loved it, but it was only a rental so I didn't get too far in it. I wouldn't mind a remaster on PS3 with trophies, but that ship has sailed.

Getting a sorta GTA fix now by getting back into Saints Row 3. Forgot how fun that game was.

What you cool kids doing today? I just washed my new duvet cover and put my comforter in it. Thug life.
I somehow got convinced to train for a marathon this winter so I'm heading out to the trail right now. Then hopefully I can catch the rest of the Ole Miss vs A&M game. I don't usually root against Texas teams except for A&M.

Game wise, I'm like only 20% finished with Skyrim but logged at least 80 hours so far.

Back to back kids soccer games this morning. That included several sightings of hot moms in yoga pants. About a 70/30 split on no visible signs of panty lines; a lot of these moms are not afraid to wear thongs.

Then a fathers/sons pickup game of flag football at the park. That was fun, but one of these days I'm gonna break or tear something.

Now, I just got beat by the boy in Madden; he was the Pack, and I picked the Raiders. I mounted a comeback, but gave up a late TD to Lacy on a third and one that he took to the house.

Finally, time for some last minute birthday shopping for the wife.

Are any PS4/Vita indie games releasing on the first Tuesday in November (11/3)? Unless there are and I missed/forgot the announcement(s), it doesn't seem like we have any obvious candidates for next month's Plus lineup.

I don't think Sleeping Dogs qualifies as bro gaming.

Tyler: Dragon's Crown shows up as purchased on Vita for me, so I'd say it was cross buy.
It isn't, or wasn't at least, at the time crossbuy. They just made both versions free for PS+. Crossbuy is such a big part nowadays that if a non-AAA game doesn't include it I am likely to pass on it. It's one of the reasons I haven't picked up Child of Light.

Sweet potatoe fries are good. A local wing place crinkle-cuts them, and then the seasoning they put on them has a little kick to it. Those are great.

At home, we'll cut them into chips, deep-fry them, and then dust them with cinnamon and sugar. Those things are dangerous with a couple cold beers.

Agreed. Regular fries are great with anything but anyone who hates sweet potatoes, in fry form or otherwise, has either never had them or has fuck ed up tastebuds. Best part of thanksgiving is the sweet potatoes.

Finished Tales from the Borderlands last night.  Great game. Best Telltale game of the recent ones at least.  Played well on PS4.

Did someone say it was getting a retail release but episode 5 would be download only?  Thought I saw it a few days ago in this thread?  Can't seem to find anything on it now though.

A friend is getting a PS4 and wants this on disc (he likes physical over download).

I think that was Game of Thrones.
Really? I enjoyed San Andreas a lot. Probably my second favorite next to Vice City.

Sort of off topic, I wish they made a full blown Chinatown Wars and not that boring top down shit.

I'm pretty sure but I could be wrong and misread it.
I like Chinatown Wars on DS a lot. Liked it a lot more than IV. Those are the only two I've played. Didn't get that far in IV, though.

I'm surprised so many of you hate GTA IV, that was actually the game that made me get a 360 back in 2008.  I'll admit it hasn't aged that well and some of the characters sucked but it was a hell of a lot of fun to play through.

That Oklahoma State parade crash story just keeps getting worse. Now they're saying a 2 year old has died at the hospital, making that 4 total.
Yeah super sad. And a reminder to those of us that drink that it's just never worth it to drive. 25 year old chick could be facing four counts of manslaughter, each carrying potentially life in prison.

Add me to the list of haters. I traded in MLB08 and MGS4 (first two games I got on PS3 and got GTA4 used. Three crappy games in a row. I was like did I waste almost $500 on a video game console?

I was going to pass on GTA V but too many good reviews here and elsewhere convinced me to play it. I enjoyed it quite a bit but was ready to play something else after I beat the main story. Tried to do the sub stuff a bit before I gave the game back to my nephew.
