If I wasn't still playing MGS V after 80 hours and likely will continue to do so for another 80, I would have considered it.
I'm at 250+ hours in a combined tally of single and multiplayer. I already have the 100% in story, so I pretty much think I'll ride the rest of year living in a nuclear wasteland and tactical multiplayer...unless Black Friday goes truly insane with deals.

How many mgs? If I take a 10 mg muscle relaxer I am done. I cant take them. Its awful. I can take one 5 mg but even that can fuck my day up so I gave up even trying them. I save them for when I cant sleep. Thats it.

And I am very resistant to most meds. I can take a lot of things and be fine, but not a muscle relaxer.
5mg. After Sunday I'll have to be more careful when I take them.

@Wren Ultratron is crossbuy.
Isn't that a Curve game? Plus or bust!

I'm not really feeling the Halo competitive. I didn't play most of the older Halos so I don't know if thats how its supposed to feel but the weapons don't feel very good to use. Still looking forward to the co-op campaign at least!
I'm no Halo expert, but there are things I like and things I dislike after playing for a bit last night. The shooting actually feels a lot better to me than past games. In earlier games, certain guns (like the assault rifle you start with) felt useless, but everything seems pretty fun to use so far (even if they aren't always good options in PVP). I don't care if it's blasphemous, aiming down the sights makes the shooting better (I realize you could click the right stick to zoom in past games, but now all guns can do it using the left trigger). Movement is also much improved since you can sprint and climb up ledges and whatnot. I definitely stand more of a chance in the MP than in past games, where I would often get wrecked.

So yeah, actually playing it feels great, but the multiplayer options feel limited. Warzone is fun, but that seems to be the only game mode that uses big maps. Arena is great and old schoolish (team deathmatch and a few other modes on smaller maps where you find weapons laying around), but I don't think there are any vehicles. In the older games I liked playing team deathmatch on bigger maps with vehicles. Like I said, only Warzone has vehicles (unless I'm missing something) and you don't find them on the map. You have to spend requisitions to spawn one. I'll definitely be playing it for a bit, but I don't know if it will have the staying power of older games for a lot of people.

Weird game. Intro is a anime segment about a cute high school girl (Rank) and her friends chatting. She's invited to karaoke but turns it down. Then she goes to a warehouse filled with shipping containers. The company is owned by her dad. She lives in one of the shipping containers. She puts on a dress and says she's going to go kill her father and the game starts. Starting after stage 5 you'll see a few more anime segments for the story. They're absolutely bizarre and make no sense at all. There's a few laughs, but mostly it's just weird.

The game itself is for the most part a very short running platformer. There aren't a lot of enemies but you need to keep moving or a legion of monsters will catch up with you. As you kill monsters you come across your ammo meter will recharge; if you're going too slow and the legion catches up you can fire your gun and the legion will back off temporarily. Monsters don't respawn so backtracking is pretty limited--you run out of ammo quickly even when you're working through the levels so backtracking much makes you legion bait. Additionally there are numerous steep drops you can't go back on and areas where you jump on collapseable platforms that don't return after disappearing; due to these two things if you mess up a jump you often have to restart the level.

There are 10 stages; 7 are running and 3 are boss fights. In stage 7 you're on a motorcycle instead of running, and on stage 9 you're pursued by a giant Pomeranian instead of the legion.

Trophies are mostly easy. There's a few for story progression, a handful for specific tasks like getting to top running speed, beating a level without being hit, being a level without missing a hit, etc.. There's also one optional trophy for each boss; the first boss's is to beat it in under 50 seconds and the second and third are to beat the boss without being hit. None are particularly difficult.

There are two collection trophies. Scattered among the running stages are 25 boxes for you to collect and 26 golden enemies to kill. As you collect/kill you'll unlock bits of art in the extras menu. The stages themselves give you no info about your progress so you'll need a guide to figure out how much is left for each stage. There is a video guide showing the box locations but not one for the golden enemies. This part of the game is the most frustrating due to the back-and-forth between the stage selection and extras menu being slow and because many stages do not allow you to go backwards. If you miss a collectible you'll often have to start back over. Luckily you don't have to complete a level to have the collection count; if you pick up a box or kill a golden enemy and then die or restart the level you still retain the collectible.

The pst.org trophy guide doesn't have the collectible boxes mapped out. The psnp trophy guide has a YT link for each stage, so I'd suggest that one instead.

I'm not sure about the downloaded version but the game reads very slowly from disc (it's digital only in US but I imported it from EU.) Stage loading and just moving around between the menus is painful. There's also some framerate dropping in the stages themselves, mostly when you're running and objects pass across the foreground. The platforming isn't very tight; it works fine for straight running and jumps, but when you have to land on the collapsable platforms or in the first boss fight where there's lots of back and forth the lack of precise control is very apparent.

Overall the game was alright. I'd recommend it for a few bucks in a flash sale or if you can play and flip it without loss.

tldr; Eh. Nothing special. If you can get it for a few bucks and want to see an absolutely bizarre game story and anime clips with some ridiculous gameplay in the last couple of stages then it's worth picking up.

That Ferrari Racer CAG, who's known to Photoshop some really great/hilarious stuff, made this in reference to people hoping for Gamestop -> Best Buy flips during the 4-for-$10 sale:

He's really, really good at these.

Finished the story finally.  Lot longer than I thought or so it seemed.  Over 10 hours for me.  Going for 100%.  Only a couple sequences made me play over a few times.  Most were easy to 100%.  The final two, 8 and 9, seemed rushed.  Setups werent as engaging or thought out as much as prior sequences.  Overall a entertaining story.  Now for cleanup.

Bounty Hunt pro tip.  Use smoke bombs to capture and run away from the action and get the guy in a carriage quickly.  Use smoke bomb again once you get to the destination if your not anonymous.  The Intimidation skill is very important to have so your kidnapped enemies dont struggle.  Its a pain in the ass otherwise and some of the later missions have you kidnapping people so its very handy.

Well I fucked up yesterday on Gow 3 remastered.

Forgot all about the stupid trophy for not dying in the labyrinth level. Plan was to beat the game, and then glitch the hell out of titan mode which apparently you can play in 1.5 hours by breaking some chains in an early part of the game.

I can still do that but wont get the plat since I forgot to go for this one trophy. I dont have a save point all that near the labyrinth level either. I could just do the glitch for invincibility and then do a full playthrough on titan I guess, but dont really wanna take the time to do it.

:wall:

I completed about 3.85 stages of Foul Play on the ol' Vita this morning and that game is damn fun.

Performance is great on the go, though I did have a little trouble activating whatever you activate when you're meter is full for double combo shit (have to press both shoulders).  Other than that though, no control issues.  Besides my own failings at keeping combos going that is.

All the textures are a little blurry, especially the bigger characters or when they zoom in during a cut-scene.  It doesn't distract from the gameplay at all, you just notice it when peeps are talking.

Well worth the $2 or $1 or whatever I gave to the kids for this.

The WW1 simulation is cool.  Nice looking area and Churchill of course.

EDIT:  Thankfully you can skip certain cut scenes.  Hint:  Not the ones with Churchill or the London era characters.  I like those.

Anyone else get the email from Sony about their PS4 financing plan?

Basically you pay $9.99 down and then $24 a month for 24 months and you get a basic PS4 with 2 years of Plus.  Total amount financed (with 0% APR) is $576.  So you're basically paying $126 extra to space it out.

You apply online and go pick it up in the store if you get approved with a voucher.  Sounds like you can pay more for different bundles too.

Not that any of you in here need this or anything, but thought it was an interesting thing to set up for people.  Got me thinking even though the price is higher.

It was targeted to people who have Vitas and PS3s and spend around $20 a month on PSN who do not have a PS4 on their account. So... nobody got it but you.

$126 extra in financing charges? That sounds like a terrible idea.

Any of you physical-types heard of Limited Run Games? They are going to release previously download-only games as limited run physical releases. Their first two games are Breach & Clear (Vita) and Saturday Morning RPG (PS4):

I'd never even heard of Breach & Clear. 55 on metacritic. Odd choice.

Vita games thread has been talking about the Breach & Clear physical edtition. Didn't know it was a seperate company doing limited releases for a couple different games though.

Breach & Clear is a mobile game port. I think the dev was wandering around the vita thread a few weeks back. Seems like they've changed/updated a few things on it since the vita launch so it'll run better. I got it free for iOS but I don't think I ever launched it.

Edit: Therm didn't you play it? Or was that someone else?

I don't think Saturday Morning RPG exists on PS4 yet. So I guess they are also porting it? It's an iOS game too.

Saturday Morning RPG is awesome. I played a decent amount on my iPhone and it hit me right in the nostalgia. Would love that on Vita. It should be on Vita. Make it on Vita.

Breach & Clear hit $2.25 with PS+ a few months back. I've not played it yet, but it looks interesting enough.

http://gematsu.com/2015/10/rocket-league-november-update-add-mutators

New Rocket League info. Adding 'mutators' to let you change up how the game is played. Sounds kind of cool, is this what that preview tweet was about?

Edit: link to blog post too: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/10/28/mix-match-and-mutate-in-rocket-league-this-november/
I think so. Sounds pretty cool. You can customize stuff like making the ball a portal-ish cube, moon gravity, etc. Now they need to get the non-rectangle arenas out. There's going to be a live stream tomorrow showing it off on twitch at 5 PM eastern.

So been watching the Fallout 4 pip boy prices on ebay... they have been drastically dropping.  Not sure if I want to keep my preorder or not?  Game is going for about $190 shipped, but after fees, not sure if it is worth it to keep and sell.  I don't want the actual pipboy because it doesn't work with my phone.  Any body in here plan to sell theirs?  Could we see the price go up after release day?

This seems really cool, I want to play car hockey. Its awesome they keep giving out this content for free. Definitely gonna try to catch the stream tomorrow.

Gamestop is giving $250 credit, no strings attached, for any PS4 or XB1 console trade-in starting today (no specified end date). I think I'll finally get rid of this XB1/paperweight I've had sitting in an Amazon box for the past few months.

Cool idea prices are just too high.

http://kotaku.com/quake-live-fans-are-angry-about-a-10-switcheroo-1739068130

Warning: Kotaku link.

Apparently Quake Live is still a game that people play. But the forces that be behind Quake live pushed out a 1gb patch for the game which at some point went from a browser game to a steam game. And that patch not only changes the price from free to play to a 10$ paid game, but it also completely wipes players stats, friends lists, in game name and settings.

Apparently the swap was in order to get the entire game on steamworks so they don't have to maintain their own launcher and whatnot. Predictably, people are pissed.

Seems kinda shitty that they swapped everything over, deleted everything, and changed the price without notifying anyone. Some notification would have been nice so people could at least get the steam names of their friends or something. I didn't play the game for more than a month when it first launched, but to have everything wiped from a game that some people have been playing since 2009 would suck.

Doesn't sound like we'll get the Plus announcement today.

What is it with Sony and apparently waiting until the last week of the month to finalize Plus lineups? Isn't that the sort of thing they should work out ahead of time?

Man, that's real tempting to swap for an updated warranty and one of the bundle games for ~100. If I didn't have all my credit tied to the blue vita right now I'd probably jump on it.

FYI... When I ventured out to the nether regions of CAG recently, there were quite a few people saying the Blue Vita was on shelves at Best Buy. It sounds like it may not be a Gamestop exclusive after all.

Mild, have you seen any carriages to escort?  Supposedly you can do ten of those for the Guardian Angel trophy yet I havent seen or remember seeing one carriage I could escort.  I was wondering what cargo shipments they were talking about.  I thought it was actually shipments by ship but they say you can do carriages. I have done neither so far.

Yeah, I was seeing that too. Don't have any credit built up anywhere else though, I don't flip much, and I put all my effort into getting GS space bucks for it lol. I might see if I can find at least $50 worth of wiggle room sitting on my shelf though. Two new consoles and warranties would be a real nice christmas present to myself.

Carriages do count as that's all I did for the trophy. Run around on foot (mainly in areas you've conquered) and you should see the icon pop up...pretty simple too. Just throw a smoke bomb when you get to the destination.

they didn't start showing up in frequency until I'd cleared out a few areas and finished the robbing of 10 enemy cargos. then I got 4 or so back to back.
