PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

just to be clear, that lemmings game is a decent lemmings game. it's manageable to pass a lot of the puzzles and after you adjust to the touchscreen controls you won't fuck it up all the time. BUT three starring all of the levels takes a lot of good puzzle solving ability AND coordination with the touch screen controls. Even after playing a lot I still have to restart levels because of the janky controls and like I said if you're going for the plat even watching video guides to get three stars can be tough because of the coordination/controls part.

But if you liked old lemmings games and don't care about trophies and don't mind frustration, it's a good little game.

Simmias and maybe even numbers guys like Tyler will like this. And football guys should find it interesting.

And even though the other top teams based on this stat alone all lost the SB I would guess that all of them were underdogs going into the game anyway. And none of them had near the defense that Carolina has. Carolina is going to beat Peyton like a drum.
Very interesting. Like on things that like this that have a very deep statistical analysis of sports, and then it's like, obviously in the past this hasn't been a solid predictor of success in the next game. But 91% chance of winning after the first quarter is pretty crazy.

It's very difficult for me to figure out what exactly they fucked up recently that they haven't fucked up in the past. I've always played against red bars as I'm sure everyone else has. The elite players recently have complained about skill based match making as opposed to the connection based, and this awful awful terrible situation they find themselves in called "sweats" where they have to face tough enemies in the crucible every match now.

Well welcome to my entire year and a half of playing PvP against these elites. Every match is a sweat match for me but at least it's been more competitive with skill based match making. Bungie caved and said they will be doing connection based again but I never trust anything Bungie says. Destiny may be dying a slow death but I find it difficult to believe it's because of anything that has happened recently.
I'd pretty much moved to only playing pvp in destiny and I didn't know what was happening at the time, but the lag in crucible got really bad really quickly. Typically, I would only run into widespread issues during iron banner, rarely in other day-to-day crucible modes. So when it started happening, I was thinking it was something on my end, so I started disconnecting stuff on my network when I would play. I go over to the destiny subreddit quite a bit and saw people complaining of the same thing, but I just thought it was the typical overreaction that goes on there usually. But after they admitted to having changed it, it makes sense. I don't mind playing competitive games, in fact it's more fun, but playing against people that are lagging is intolerable.

But I think people are more jaded just because there's no new content on the horizon. It's time to play other stuff, is what it boils down to. I'll probably still jump into pvp periodically because when it works, it's still a blast.

Edit - kanamit'd?

If all these people have issues with Destiny....why dont they stop fuck ing playing it?  I dont understand.  They played it for over a year and clearly got a lot of enjoyment out of it.  Why do people keep doing something that supposedly aggravates them so much?

Oh wait, we are talking about gamers here.  Carry on.

Quite honestly I think the big twitch streamers and hardcore players have been bored with lack of content for awhile now. They were the last people to complain and I think they want to play other games. This gives them an excuse to stop playing Destiny. I still enjoy playing it because I have all the trophies I'm going to get and it's just mindless fun now, despite me raging and yelling at my tv screen after a few rift matches in Iron Banner yesterday (rift was a poor choice for IB).
Yeah, I haven't tried it out, but I let out a huge sigh when I saw it was going to be rift this time around. That mode just isn't fun to me.

I kinda still want to go for the flawless raider just to get the plat, but I don't know if it's going to happen.

The lag stuff from what I gather is that instead of matching you to people near you, you might get matched with people in russia as they were the only people to be found at the time around your "skill" level which leads to the bad lag.

Dumb way to do it. Some have suggested doing a ranked match tier that is skill based, which would make the most sense, instead of the blanket skill based they did.

There are a lot of good games out there but very few have longevity. You play for a month at the most then move on to another game. Destiny had some longevity, whether it was real or assumed to have new content on the way. People now pretty much know that there's very little new content coming. I think I appreciate what destiny did or at least tried to do now looking back at the hundreds of hours I played it.

Tyler...how much Destiny talk do I have to do to get you to change that thread title?

This. I got the limited ed at launch for cheap and stayed through both expansions as I already paid for them, I like the game a lot for the most part but the way they started to constantly fiddle with shit and make it so all the gains you made didnt matter for fuck all after the next update, I was done.

Destiny isn't that bad if you don't pay attention to Reddit or Twitch streamers. People are just pissed that they put 100s of hours into a game and there's nothing left to do. Bungie has even come out and said that they fully expect people to play other games. The people that are the most vocal are unfortunately a small minority that seems to be super loud.

Because of trophies....oh wait. Wrong people.

oh wow hand of fate is my highest tt game and only 12 people have the plat. hopefully that comes to + sometime and brings the tt value even higher. it really isn't that hard or long of a plat at all, idk why so rare

Count me in the crew of diablo folks who hit the bounty wall. I still have like 350 to do and a couple treasure goblins but otherwise I'm all trophied up. I'll keep picking at it though since it is a good loot game, but that'll probably be a 2017 plat.

The only class I really had fun with was the witch doctor. I don't totally understand pet management but I still like walking around with a small army and shooting pirahna tornadoes.

My favorite classes are ones where you can summon pets. I'll play nearly any RPG that has that in it. Just seems so limited in most games now. I remember summoning hordes of skeletons in Diablo 2.

Yeah, its just that no games have longevity for people like me. After a few dozen hours of most any game I am ready to move on. New guns, cars or character skins do nothing for me. The only new content I really ever care about are new levels. With trophies of course! Even then I only know of one game that had me playing anywhere near 100 hours and enjoying every minute of it. Burnout Paradise.

Yup. Some day I will go back and play the Wolf and Taken King DLC. Just got to be more of a work and grind then fun. Forever changing rules on what you need to do to level up your weapons and gear.

PS Plus Feb:

Grid Autosport, PS3
Helldivers: Democracy Strikes Back , PS4, PS3, PS Vita
Lemmings Touch, PS Vita
Nom Nom Galaxy, PS4
Nova-111, PS Vita
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, PS3

Not that bad of a month. I have Nova-111 (from reviewing it so can't be salty there) but Lemmings Touch should be kinda cool. Not really interested in either PS3 game but at least I don't have them.
The slap is strong with this one. I'm pretty sure I bought Nom Nom Galaxy and Nova-111 in the past week/month. I already had a code for Helldivers Vita/PS3 so at least I'll get the PS4 version. Glad I didn't buy Hand of Fate and already have GRID on 360.

For GWG I already got every Gears of War game on 360 except 2 so I'm actually happy about that. Otherwise we got Styx on PS4 already.

Tldr; PS+ and GWG mostly suck for me in February.

Unless your views have changed, sorry to hear that is still going to happen. Sounds like I need to make sure a beer trip this year goes through Louisville for some day time drinking at Against the Grain.
I'm actually doing really good and I'm more than fine with it now... I'd like to give more details but I think that's for another time.

Definitely hit me up if you're in the Louisville area... I'm sure you'd drink me under the table though.

Do you live in the ville? Remember something about shepardsville but could be wrong.

Might be going up there in june for college reunion, aint been to louisville in a solid 7-8 years prolly.

There's a whole lot of things wrong with higher education, but this isn't one of them. People using the ignorance card about their student loans is just pathetic. I used to work in the Student Loans Receivables department, do you know how many people bitched that they were required to do both entrance and exit counseling before they could get their loans? The gov't does a decent job trying to inform students of the decision they're making.

And why isn't he mad at his parents for them having him take out a lot of higher interest rate private loans in his name and not telling him about it? If he's looking for someone to blame he should direct it towards his parents.

I could go on on this topic for days, but I'll also just say that private colleges are for the wealthy. If you're parents aren't paying for it, don't count on going to a private school. Buck up and go to your nearest state school and save tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of dollars.

While I will definitely join in on the Nom Nom MP since I love that game, I thought next month was supposed to be PayDay 2?
It can be. I was just trying to pick games that were plus or sale games. Get as many people involved. We could just pick a main game for the month, and add in other games for splinter groups. I don't think there's that many people playing castlevania either.

My dad worked for the receivables dept at USF the last 15 years or so. The stories of the idiots that would call him are priceless. My dad didnt even get his two year AA from HCC until he was in his 40s. He never got a 4 year degree and yet he is a million times smarter than everyone that called him.

Yeah, that makes sense. I thought it was why we went with PayDay since everyone should have it on PS3 if they wanted to play that version. I know there are at least 4 of us (Sage, Jimbo, Pancakes, and me) with the PS4 version. There may be others that I just dont know.

Mommy and Daddy took care of it. He just inked his name wherever they pointed to.
That's dumb as fuck. Mommy and Daddy can take care of a lot of things, but at 17 and going to school his dumb ass should have understood at least the bottom line of "this school costs this much per semester to attend" maybe not the math in between with interest rates and loans and whatnot. But being surprised at the cost of tuition + room/board? Hell no.

Another thing a lot of people mention is that student loans aren't dischargable via bankruptcy. These loans are made to young people without any sort of verifiable income and also have no repossessable collateral tied to them. That's a pretty risky loan to make, the only guarantee the lender has is that it's not dischargable.

Make student loans dischargable and their availability will shrink significantly, and they'll start using criteria like college major to determine if the borrower is worthy. It would basically dwindle down to "if you're in business, engineering, health science, or computers, you can have a loan."

And then people would bitch about that too, that their major isn't eligible for federal loans.

As of right now I'm actually out of the PS4 version. Traded it into gamestop either right before or after the holidays for a profit. Of course, the dumb thing hasn't dropped in price again that I've seen.

I forgot about that being on plus for PS3. We could run that and nom nom. I was just trying to have one game for PS4 and one for PS3. Castlevania will be a splinter group game anyway it seems.

Wouldn't that though drive the costs down for other majors? What would schools do that teach all those other majors do if no one but the richest of people could afford to go to school and most other kids couldn't get a loan?

And honestly some majors are just junk. Why piss way tens of thousands of dollars to make $70K a year (going by the article kilik linked).

On another board/forum I go to many of the people there are pretty educated eggheads. Many are engineers and the like. However some aren't and think there is some great value in getting a college education is anything. fuck that. If it is going to put you way in the hole and not really give you great earning potential why bother. Fine if mommy and daddy are going to pay for your nonsense degree but if you have to take out loans it should be in a field that pays well and required a higher education.

So you are saying I have to sucker talk Wren into getting it for a 4th?

Sage is out. Not sure how many people you need for co-op but I have a friend (the one I am playing SR4 with) who could join us if we need a 4th. He and I both have it and played a few missions months back. Trying to finish up a few more trophies in Mad Max by Friday or Saturday so I can trade it to GS.

Nah, depending on when everyones playing, if there's a concentrated week or so, I'll gamestop rental it. Or just get it from them anyway. I've got a bunch of credit now thanks to the 50%. Just give me a heads up and I'll go back to the GS I don't like lol.

We can start whenever. It's the beginning of the semester for me and our projected hours at work are smaller this part of the year so I'm having a lot more free time.
