I am glad I dont get much more than some slight irritations from allergies. But I did wake up with a slight sore throat this morning and its still there now so I hope I am not getting sick.

He really was a musical genius though. I mean, he created music for over 30 years, few artists have that longevity or creativity. His contributions to R&B and Rock (I mean come on, he had a live band on his records. Unheard of in this day).

Gifted songwriter (think of all the hits he wrote for others).

He was an artist in every sense of the word.

Long live Prince.

My allergies have definitely gotten worse as I've gotten older. Never had a problem with all the pollen when I was growing up down there. Then I started having to take meds a few days before I'd go visit. Now, I'm just on meds all spring/summer no matter where I'm at.

Yeah, I woke up a couple days ago with my throat feeling like I was getting sick. Started up my allergy meds right after now its good.

 
Damn I'm bummed about Prince. The guy played every instrument on albums and sooo much talent. The whole changing his name from Prince to a symbol is one of the greatest fuck you moves in music. Basically he was told he could only release music under the name Prince so he made that symbol and said "I'm not Prince but this symbol." Pure genius!

My favorite is when he was interviewed and someone asked him (not an accurate quote here), "How do you pronounce the symbol?" and he responded with "I don't know, but I hope some day when we find out we'll find that it's pronounced 'prince'."

 
I was going to listen to a Prince album on Spotify but I see a while back he removed his music from all streaming services except Tidal. Oh well.

 
So I know nothing about Prince.  Was he big into doing drugs?  I dont remember ever hearing that.  So if he just got sick and died...ugh.  Eat and drink whatever you want cause you never know when its your time!

He wouldn't get surgery on his hip due to his wacky beliefs Jehovah's Witnesses have. I wouldn't be surprised if he died from something that could have been easily treated or prevented.

There is also a member store that you can buy stuff from that usually includes some new albums that just released, as well as some extra exclusive pressings of albums. Everything is based off of what the guys running the club believe are essential to own on vinyl. Last month was a ridiculously cool copy of the Fugees-The Score. $27 for a month, or comes out to less if you go for the 3, 6 or 12 month subscriptions.

I really got into it, really enjoyed the game. Hadn't heard of any of the artists before playing it, but there's some catchy tunes in the game. Almost every song has a good beat that fits with with the game's mechanics. Art style is great. Thanks to those that watched the stream last night, looks like almost the whole thing got muted, no big surprise.

These Portland guys are bringing up bad memories for me.  Health class.  Around 92 or 93...woman giving birth.  Worst video I have ever seen.  And I have seen some crazy shit on faces of death etc.

Local station is streaming his catalog all day at thecurrent.org for free.

Target Field put a tribute to him on their scoreboard. Zoomed in as much as I could with my phone.

Yea Wilco is still available. If you were to join for let's say the 3 month sub, and didn't like what you got after pinkerton, they have a new thing where you can swap out the monthly record with one of the ones in the archive if you wanted wilco instead or whatever. Or you can sign up, and get pinkerton, and just buy wilco from the store for $27...if you do want to join tGough let me know because if I refer you we both get $10 credit to use in the store

Can you just buy the weezer and/or fugees ones? If not, I may still try a couple months, but I'd love to grab those two separately if possible. I might just be missing a link on the website or something.

 
Longest day EVER.  Didn't feel like dealing with a small thing today.  Asked vendor if we could do a call on it tomorrow.  He is out.  If my boss wasn't out I might have taken a sick day.

So now Monday.  

I just want to get some free ice cream (more my wife does) and play some Gears of War 4 Beta.  I even almost rage quit last night.  Good times.

I'll send you something later. You can just sign up for the 1 month and get weezer, and can enter their store for that month and buy fugees from the archive.
