PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

I just farmed the Giant Lord over and over. I had enough souls to unlock the mid way hate early after a branch of yore. I loved running around in that war of the Giants.
How does one do that? You need the ashen mist heart to enter the giant's memory. You need the King's ring to access the memory entry point, and you need to have access through the shrine of winter (which is the gate you need to open to finish the plat in NG++) in order to get the King's ring.

Graphics comparison of the Remastered Arkhams versus the originals.

I'm digging the originals more in a lot of them.  I think the originals are more gritty, dark looking, use shadows better, and have better lighting effects.

This plus the inferior Giant Lord Soul vs. the Rotten + Old Dead One souls (85000 souls for both) that The Rotten drops on NG+ and up pushed me to farm the latter. As a reminder, you need an additional 3 million in Soul Memory once you start NG++, so you can't just start with that many souls on hand; I used a Fragrant Branch of Yore to get to the Shrine of Winter ASAP and consumed every soul in front of the door.

On my first game I did everything possible before NG+. I farmed the Giant Lord boss a lot using the bonfire ascetic in the memory. Plus I ran through all the memories and grabbed all the souls and useful items each time. When I started NG+ I made it to the Shrine of Winter and used enough souls to open the gate and repeated for NG++ so I could buy my last 2 spells for platinum. The memories have some valuable souls plus I sold the ring that's dropped from giant lord. I had lots of consumables souls where I breezed through NG+ and NG++ as soon as I hit the Shrind of Winter. I never played the DLC as I still plan on playing it on PS4.

What is this?!?!?!?! The Blogcast guys wouldn't shut the fuck up about it! Crunch won't shut the fuck about it! Apparently it's amazing, altho it doesn't look amazing at all. You jump down a well and have blaster boots?

Its ridiculously fairly priced at $5, I may just have to buy it. It's published by Devolver so nice on requesting it, they very politely told us to go fuck ourselves last time I tried to request a game from them.

I finished the Unravel story last night. Cute game that gets a little depressing. The music is fantastic. The platforming and puzzles are fun. I doubt I'll get the plat before my rental is up. The hardest trophy is for finishing each level with no deaths. There are only 11 or 12 levels, but they're each ~15 minutes long. One fuck-up and you have to start the whole level over again.

hahahaha god I hate this awful series of video games I've never played.

Welcome to four days ago when we were all talking about it and Derek & I ordered it.
That was on GS which has tax in just about every state and a shitty delivery fee IIRC. People who have Amazon credit, no in-state nexus, or Prime might be more inclined to buy it from Amazon instead.

Edit: NM. Saw the GS link but the Amazon one didn't show up in search for some reason.

Downwell is a cool game I've only played on my phone where it sucks due to touchscreen controls. In short, it might still suck, but it might not. GOTY!

Just in case you didnt know, it is like LBP. You do not have to do the entire game in one run. Just beat each level in any order you want without dying. I still expect it to be a bitch to do based on what I heard of the electricity level. However, at least that makes it a bit more doable.

Yeah, I've been working my way through the first few. Each level has 5 collectibles and a secret trophy objective. Sometimes it's hard to do those and focus on not dying, so I'm having to play through some of them more than once.

I disagree. The last 10 minutes was the most eventful, but the whole episode was great.
Part of it for me at least is that next to the insufferable High Sparrow storyline the Greyjoys bore me to pieces.

Great beginning and end though, probably the 3rd best episode of the season so far. It seems like the even episodes have been really intense so hopefully next week continues that trend.

Since they always seem to compare the $5 to buying lunch I'll recommend buying a burrito from Chipotle for $5 and spending a 10 hour campaign on the toilet.
You can also buy a bag of frozen vegetables for about a buck or so and get the same result nowadays.

I can understand those not being action packed story lines at the moment, but I definitely can see what part they have to play in the overall story. There had to be some way for Dany to get back to Westeros. We see how that is likely to happen now.

I wonder if the Sparrow story is a way for Kings Landing to collapse from inside which helps with the shift of the focus from the south to the north.

Crushing on UC4 is a silver trophy?  They must have meant for people to cheese it.

Much respect to Vig for playing through legit on Crushing.  That wasn't easy.

It might sound mean, but I wish the Bonus cheats weren't allowed on Crushing because they trivialize the whole thing. A few skirmishes (particularly in Ch. 18-20) really ticked me off, but it felt so rewarding to finally beat them.

On a different note, I recommend trying out the Slow Motion cheat to make everyone sound drunk.

I bought it on Steam. I don't get the hype but I also don't really understand the mechanics as I barely played it.

One of the best stories TT has done (that I've played), mostly. It kinda peters out a bit at the end when the whodunit is resolved without much fanfare. Great art design and the coloring / lightning is all very moody. Also the finale is really QTE heavy. It's too bad they have so much stuff on their plate, it's going to be at least year before there is another season.

They've finished Michonne and they've got the 3 downloadable Minecraft episodes left this year. They still haven't started putting out TWD s3 or Batman, both of which are also due this year. At this point I expect TWD and Batman to extend quite a ways into 2017, when they've also got Marvel thing as a planned release. Most of their seasons take about a year to release and their release history shows about 3 concurrent seasons per year. I'd be surprised if we saw TWAU s2 start before sometime in 2018. Maybe later with the bigger-named licenses they've been grabbing lately.

I agree. I had the most trouble with that chapter 18 fight. Chapter 20 was manageable once I figured out where I wanted to go, but fuck that chapter 18 fight.

Agreed. The Arya stuff had some weak points (that play went on a little too long), but other than that I really enjoyed it all. Even before the excellent last scenes, the revelation that the children of the forest created the white walkers to help them fight humans was pretty big and also makes perfect sense. I also like the Iron Island stuff.

sooooo dead star is apparently one of those games with horrific xp scaling in the last levels.  someone claims that it takes the same amount of xp to go from 43->50 as it does to go from 1->40.  back to uncharted I guess.

Fleury looked like a sieve out there on a couple of those goals. Gotta go back to Murray for Game 6, never should have lost this game. Ugh.
I though the lightning played well in the first and third. Pretty even game looking at it that way. Lightning just have some sharpshooters and playmakers. Even without one of the best goal scorers in the world.
