PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

2!? That must be a record! I'm not even sure how I mustered up a $10 one, must have been holiday shopping because I barely ever go there.
It wasn't because of me--my mom bought a bunch of Christmas presents from them and used my rewards account for each purchase.

Car stuff

Wife went and put some of that gas tank warm HEET stuff and that seemed to do the trick.  Said she let it warm good and then drove it around for half an hour with no lights or stalling or anything weird.  So seems frozen fuel system from not running it enough during these last few super cold days?  So crisis averted apparently.  We'll see over the next couple days.

tl;dr shit seems good now

Awesome. When its cold as fuck like that you've definitely got to make sure to start them and let them warm up a bit every now and then. Especially if you keep your car outdoors.

What I've played of it I've played on Xbox 360, and I have to admit the idea of buying it to play on the DS3 is not terribly appealing. Would be nice if they ported it to PS4, though.
This. I've played RDR, got tempted for a second because everyones playing it right now, but I really don't want to deal with the DS3 for that one if I can help it.

Yeah I have no garage so I probably should have started it a little more the last few days. Never had problems before in the cold, but the car is also older.

Late getting back to the party so spoilered my responses to Zimm's car situation for those who want to read.

As the engine warms up, the fuel injection system begins adjusting the fuel to air ratio by allowing for more air. If some component of the system is fouled or not working properly, the ratio becomes to lean (less gas, more air) and could be why your car cuts off once it's warm. Pressing on the gas peddle to keep it going is adding more gas like when you first start the car or when it's running while the engine is cold, and therefore keeps the combustion process going. If you did have a faulty sensor, you would probably get the dreaded check engine light, but not necessarily.

Full disclosure: I did not google, but I did finish The Martian yesterday. There's a lot of good technical stuff in that book.
My wife's car has the opposite problem (which is MUCH better). It will idle too low and stall right after you start it on occasion. Check Engine light is on. Had the local shop pull the code. He mumbled something about fuel system issue and said part expensive from dealer. He reset the light I drove 50 miles it didn't come back on. Passed inspection and on the way home it came back on.

Need to have it looked at I guess but as long as I let it warm up or bip the throttle a bit when it goes to stall it is fine. After a few miles/mins it has a slight rough idle when stopped but otherwise runs fine. Not sure how much longer we are going to keep the car so not sure I want to put money into it or not. I guess depends on how much it takes to fix it.

Vig, somebody on reddit just posted about how the ending to ToCS is 2-3 hours long.

Pete, what's the best way to hook my controller up to my toes to push the triangle button and then occasionally run back and forth? Farming these mini medals is boring as shit.

I would. PS3 or not it's a great game.
I 100%d it on 360. I sank tons of hours into the multiplayer. I liked the coop fine but mostly played the competitive side because it's fun as shit. I was sure I didn't need to play it again but then I scrolled through the screenshots of it on the psn store page and I swooned.

why are you still playing that game anyways?  I thought you said you were done with it.  go live your life man and leave the shitty grinding to losers like me.

Yeah in that case don't buy it. Just wait on the inevitable sequel.

I'm gonna give it some time and think before I buy the GTA trilogy. That's a great deal but I really don't know how I feel about adding 3 games I've already played to my backlog right now. I'll probably end up getting them though.

I absolutely can't believe I'm even sort of entertaining the idea of getting red dead redemption.
I'd at least get the $4 bundle to play Undead Nightmare as like Blood Dragon it is a smaller sized portion of the main game with a slightly different spin. One advantage the disc version of RDR has, if you can find a nicer copy in a case at gamestop, it came with a fold out map that has all the towns and things marked on it.

edit: Ahh, you've already played it on 360.

So, sounds like I can buy vanilla RDR and this Undead pack and get the GOTT equivalent for $10? That is mighty tempting.
Yes, there are a few minor drawbacks to this though. Since the Undead Nightmare Collection standalone and the Vanilla RDR are separate games, they share a trophy list and save files, but they can't interact in any other way. So you can't use the tomahawk or explosive rifle from the DLC in Red Dead Single player. You also don't get the war horse (best overall horse, though not by much), golden guns (more fame per kill), or assassin outfit (2X Dead Eye regen) as they don't come in either. Though if you really want one or more of those they are $1 each in the store.

What's wrong with the DS3 on RDR?
The only thing I don't like about it is they messed up the hold to aim feature a little bit. The DS3 has pressure sensitive buttons. When you hold L2 to bring up the gun for targeting what SHOULD happen is if you release L2, you lower your gun and stop aiming. Instead what DOES happen is if you release any tension on the L2, even if the button is still being depressed, you will lower your gun and stop aiming.

RDR is an amazing game. I beat it on 360 and bought it on PS3 a few months ago when it was bundled with Max Payne 3. I plan on playing it again sometime eventually, did a few missions or so when I first got it but that's it. Maybe I'll give the multiplayer a shot this time. Definitely the game I'm most looking forward to getting a new iteration of.

And damn that PS2 to PS4 GTA slap is real, at least I got 20% off Vice City and held off on III until a sale! Ugh

Isn't RDR the game where you have to round up cattle? I fuck ing hated that mission.
I had to replay that mission recently for the 20 missions on one horse trophy and it actually isn't as bad as I remembered. When a straggler runs off you don't have to herd it back into position using your horse, you just have to whistle next to it and it will turn to solid blue on the minimap and will go back to the herd by itself.

I might get the PS2 GTA bundle. Or I might just get one of them. If you're only going to get one, which one should you get? I haven't played any of them.

San Andreas is the most fun to me and there's far more to do than the other 2. You really should just get all 3, though.

So I saw something today about one of the candidates for president was born in Canada. How the hell has he made it so far in he race? The constitution states you must be born in the US to be president. #confused

Natural Born Citizen isn't defined in the constitution and one of his parents was an American citizen so generally that has been close enough as determined by the courts (it's the same reason why kids born on military bases to serviceman in foreign countries are American citizens). Though it is funny that he is getting so little flak when Obama had to deal with so many fuck ing birthers when he was running.

It all depends on how you want to read the constitution. By one of the usual ways to interpret the constitution, he'd still be able to be a candidate. By a couple others, he's not. The supreme court hasn't actually made a ruling on how to definitively interpret the phrase "natural born." He's still in the race because of that legal grey area.

It might not even matter anyway if he doesn't win the republican nomination anyway.

Edit: Owl'd

Obama is black and obviously not a native Americaner. We're all white here. The normal folks, anyway.

Late getting back to the party so spoilered my responses to Zimm's car situation for those who want to read.

Gasoline will freeze, but at temperatures I'm guessing to be well below -20°F. Gasoline is a mixture of several different components, so what does happen as the temperature drops is that impurities or some of the components will precipitate out of the gasoline and form a slurry in the bottom of the tank. Some may redissolve over time, some may not. If the level in the tank is very low, some of that could be picked up by the fuel delivery system. It could clog the fuel filter and/or possibly components of the fuel injection system.

Those additives are probably designed not only to clean the fuel delivery system, but also to redissolve or break down anything that has precipitated out.

Yes, it could be the alternator also. Not having known the age of the car or battery, and with it being cold I thought battery first. The battery/alternator question is like the chicken or the egg for the shade-tree mechanic. The battery stores the power that the alternator creates. So if the battery is weak it won't store enough of the power the alternator creates, and therefore the longer the car runs the less power the battery will have to delivery to the electrical systems. On the flip side, if the alternator is going bad it won't create enough power for the battery to store, and will eventually lead to a bad battery. Either one not working properly will exhibit similar symptoms. A battery is easier to diagnosis and typically doesn't last as long.

As the engine warms up, the fuel injection system begins adjusting the fuel to air ratio by allowing for more air. If some component of the system is fouled or not working properly, the ratio becomes to lean (less gas, more air) and could be why your car cuts off once it's warm. Are you playing the UEE Diablo on PS3?

MSNBC has had a program that has covered this issue for a sizable chunk of the show multiple times, Donald Trump has been all over the media questioning his citizenship, John McCain and other senators have also raised doubts. Give it time, if it doesn't sink his candidacy now, shortly after the issue is raised, it'll continue to become a bigger problem for Cruz.

In any event, common law at the time conferred citizenship through the father, so both Obama and Cruz may not be considered natural born citizens under an original intent interpretation. Legislation passed in the 30s and 50s bestowed citizenship status to those born to American mothers, though, so the courts would likely rule them eligible if a lawsuit were filed.

Maybe. There's 2 bundles. One does, one doesn't.

Do you even read the thread?
I was out to lunch when the bulk of that talk was going on. Didn't have time to catch up.

If you have this then you should have everything except perhaps war horse, golden guns, and assassin outfit.

https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/red-dead-redemption-and-undead-nightmare-collection/cid=UP1004-NPUB30638_00-PSNREDDEADBUNDLE

The advantage of that bundle is Undead Nightmare and the 2 paid multiplayer DLCs are the pack versions which work with Red Dead vanilla.
That's the one I have. Thanks!
