it's pretty disappointing. the job system (including dress spheres/garment grids) is really really well done (it's almost cut and paste from the tactics family complete with AP earning on actions, maybe other games prior to ffx-2 had the same setup I don't recall). the active battle system is solid and can be enjoyably hectic. I don't even totally mind the charlie's angels vibe. creature creator is neato. but they forgot the actual game part of it where I would be driven to actually use any of the cool tools they put in the game.

instead there's a crapload of long dialog sequences - hell, out of the 5 acts, one act is almost exclusively long dialog sequences with one boss battle and one concert thrown in. the plot isn't mind numbing but it hasn't really grabbed me. there's virtually no reason to fight anything as you're relatively overpowered very early on. and somehow they managed to make the ffx world feel incredibly tiny, but maybe that's just because I recently played through the original game so it's all still fresh in my mind.

maybe this last act will bring it home or something. I'm still glad I'm finally playing through it even if it's a bit of a letdown. I'm not so excited to see what it'll take to get the rest of the trophies - I'll probably end up having to grind from level 35 to 99 or something postgame.

If you're still having problems with getting signed out, supposedly you can fix this by deleting all cheapassgamer cookies and then logging back in again. I just tried did this, so can't verify yet.

For what? Speaking of Verizon, I got an email that they're doing a free Starz/Encore weekend starting today. Going to try and marathon Ash vs The Evil Dead. I'm also gonna check out that Blunt Talk show I heard about.

You can also go into Developer Tools (under more Tools where you find Settings), then click on the Resources tab in the bottom pop-up, then open the Cookies folder on the left-nav and clear the CAG one.

The ex wife insisted on a home phone and quantum tv for her to dvr a bunch of shows etc. Now that she is gone I got rid of both and am only keeping one dvr and one digital adaptor for the kids bedroom. I also "downgraded" my TV to only basic cable and local stations along with kids networks and sports networks. Thats all I ever watch and even that is very little really. I needed to stay with something so I didnt pay a fee to cancel my old contract. And the savings to go lower was minimal anyway.

TV package I got is called custom TV.

I let my ps3s do some turbo fight stickin last night and got signed out twice before 8p. Then it worked fine until 5a and started signing out again.

strangely, I think it's only my slim that gets signed out. I haven't seen it happen on my super slim.

 
Amalur sounds good. Was struggling with what to play next. Nothing really grabbed me.

What do the non no kuni players think about doing deus ex next month for the other backlog game? I know it's another long half-rpg. Was trying to think of something good and different, but gwg put this one in my mind.

Local multiplayer only needs to die. I blame Towerfall. It made it big on Ouya and every tiny dev out there though to themselves that they could reproduce that success.

Even a moderately good looking local MP only game like Toto Deluxe posted about how their game pretty much failed spectacularly.

It's just options though. Having 2 each month is just to let more people get in on the action. 1 game a month is still progress.

The DC's plat requires the DLC trophies for The Missing Link (technically not DLC any more since it's integrated into the game), while the standard version's plat does not.

Yeah the DC version is still annoying. There were tons of complaints about the initial release because you couldn't use stealth against the bosses. That goes rather counter to the major stealth premise behind the gameplay. DC fixed that, kinda sorta not really. I've played through the first boss and all that you can do with stealth is run around setting turrets to fire at the boss instead of facing him head-on. Not sure if they did a better job with the other bosses or if those encounters were similarly problematic.

I just checked on DE: Mankind Divided. I didn't realize its release is so far off--it doesn't hit until August.
