PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

Slain is still getting bad reviews for the controls. This is the #1 review:

Soundtrack : A+

Visuals : A+
Controls : D-

Slain has potential; but they need to do at least two things to make this game playable

1) You need to at least TELL US what the control options are even if you aren't going to let us map them!! I have no idea what any of the controls are on my keyboard NOR my game controller. There's literally no way to tell what the controls are! At one point it gives you the helpful advice "Spirit bombs are useful against crowds of enemies" how do you do a spirit bomb? WHO KNOWS?!

2) The keyboard support is so bad I would say this game needs a warning that a game controller is recommended. As this is currently a PC game they NEED to support Mouse + keyboard theres really no reason on earth this isn't possible in a Unity 3D game these days.

The control issue is so bad that when using the keyboard the only way I know how to quit the game is hit CTR-ALT-DELETE for task manager and quit it like that.. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Is there a way to properly quit? WHO KNOWS?
They're responding to critcism but doing it in a really dumb way; they're trying to explain that it was a design decision to not have the game give you a control scheme because they want players to figure it out on their own. They did give an image with the controller layout but didn't provide KB info. The controller layout is just bizarre too:

I was hoping it was just a KB+M issue but now I'm a lot more leery of the PS version if it ever arrives. Maybe they'll get their shit together.

Probably gonna Jackbox Party Pack Playstation Extravaganza Deluxe Ultra around 9:15-9:30ish Central if anyone is interested.

Oh and I have some Surly Blakkr collaboration beer thing that the Lady got from a friend of hers and gave to me.

#beer

#beer

#alsobeer

Just dont seem to bring them up as much as YOUR beloved IPAs
That is true. Mainly that is due to most people in here leaning more toward the IPAs than stouts. I tend to tell those people they should drink stouts too just like I tell Wren and Pancakes they should try more beers that are not so sweet.

My favorite is whatever is in my glass for the most part. I can not think of any style I have never liked at least one example of. Pumpkin beers and other types of spiced beers I do usually avoid, but even a few of those can be enjoyable.

Yea I can drink almost any beer you give me, just like darker styles more.

Speaking of, need to look around for more of those black ipas.

It's a seller's market for sure. Houses around here are going for way more than they're worth. I guess because nobody is selling, so buyers will fight for whatever is actually available.

Well all that's left of Project root are normal difficult and hard difficulty trophies. Unfortunately nothing stacks. Upgrades from a previous difficulty do not transfer over so you have to start from scratch. The difficulty trophies also do not stack so even if you muscle through hard difficulty you'd still have to replay normal. The hardest part of the game is pretty much the beginning since your ship starts underpowered. Lesser firepower is one thing, but the unupgraded ship is too slow to maneuver around / outrun certain gunfire. Finding extra lives (which can be the difference between failing a LOOOONG mission and succeeding in harder difficulties) are dropped entirely by luck.

To discourage grinding on earlier levels you get XP rewards for killing enemies and completing objectives, but you get a one-time set bonus the first time completing the level that is roughly 10X the value of redoing a mission. Which means if you want to grind out upgrades on easier missions it is an incredibly slow process. They are also extremely stingy with upgrade points for the first few levels. Once you finish level 4 or 5 you will have enough to close to max your guns and speed which means the last half of the game is easier than the first half. The only reason I failed to complete a mission in a later part of the game is because either the game crashed or there was a timed segment.

There are sub-objectives you can optionally complete for extra XP but good luck finding them. You have to stumble upon them on the map, but because there is no mini-map, just a short-range radar, it is really difficult to keep your bearings enough in order to do a methodical search of the level. Even if there was a mini-map that didn't feature any terrain, just a black square with a dot to show your relative position on the world map, that would have been incredibly helpful in the search for sub-objectives. Pressing circle could have toggled between radar (which takes up the lower left corner of the screen) and a mini-map. It doesn't help matters that there are invisible walls that block sections of the map until certain primary objectives are complete.

It looks like their next game DOGOS is going to be a similar style of shooter, hopefully they take the criticism of reviewers to heart and iron out the kinks. If you want a Strike series style game I would recommend skipping Project Root and waiting to see if the follow-up is improved.

Has anyone ever heard of this movie?  It must have been a small release since I don't remember anyone mentioning it.

So Sony has this "April Fools Invisible Avatar" that released to the store today.

It shows it as just a plain empty square, but the description says "This avatar is almost entirely transparent when applied to your account, minus a hidden secret message."

So yeah it's a dollar if you want to be the funniest guy in your friend's list.

Be awesome if it said "L is Real 2401"

Ha, ha. A whopping 9 trophies for me last month. That's what happens when I get sucked back into Destiny. Not sure if this month will be any better with the new content coming out in less than two weeks.

I waved to Mitch and Therm as they passed me on the leaderboard, too.

Watching MLB.tv since a bunch of spring training games are free today and tomorrow. This thing still has problems with the feed going back and repeating short segments. At least I know the problem isn't related to Unlocater since I'm not using that. It's crazy that they can't get this 100% still.

Yup, lack of supply plus low mortgage rates. It's a great time to sell... if you don't have to buy anything. I'm almost tempted to sell and then rent, but rents have been going up even faster than home prices around here.

This. We're actually looking to buy when we move now but it'll be tough. People have thrown crazy offers in and we stopped counting after 30 showings today. It's exciting and really weird. The last house I sold had precisely one offer and I was glad to have it.

I give up. Those Twitter links aren't working I guess. Basically Broforce PS4 patch delayed unexpectedly and they are trying to decide how they can make up for it/the launch issues.

Attack the Block is such a fun movie. Didn't realize that the man kid in it was the same guy from star wars even though I'd seen Attack the Block multiple times before Star Wars came out lol.

TLOP is finally elsewhere besides tidal. I'll prepare to be disappointed when I listen to it after work, since my weezer didn't come yet.

Really curious about Sony's testing process. Way too many of these launch PS+ titles have severe gameplay issues that should have been detected even with a casual playthrough or three.

I wouldn't say the gameplay has severe issues. There are problems, but they aren't horrible. The online is the severe problem. May be stuff they only ran into once tons of people were trying to play online at once. I don't know, though.

Just a few more combat trophies and the chapter speed runs left.

Charted was a pretty quick playthrough with the one kill and unlimited ammo tweaks, still has some annoying parts even with that, but overall quick and easy.

Holy shit Gator this Blakkr is damn good. Black IPA fans need to find it. Didn't realize it was a collaboration with three different breweries.
