Come on, kilik. Does your wife keep tabs on you and read what you post in the thread?

I think my wife is great, but between us guys (and sage/cleaner) I could come up with a few areas of improvement before reaching "best wife ever" status.

I haven't seen the movie in forever but I know a lot of people think Aliens is the best film in the franchise. Give that a shot.
I started Aliens already, made it about half way through before I went to bed. Acting and writing is totally 80's style and really awful, but I am liking it more so far.

You've gotta try and look at all of these old games/movies (Alien/Mega Man) in the context of when they came out. A horror movie in space was a pretty novel concept at the time, and they really pulled that off brilliantly. I don't know for sure, but Mega Man seems like it had a lot going on that hadn't been done before and was exciting (all levels unlocked from the start, getting power ups from bosses and using them to have an advantage on other bosses, etc.). Plus the music is fucking bad ass.
Yeah I loved the concept, my critique was with the storytelling (specifically the character's choices) which really isn't something that is affected by time. Like I said, there are lots of good movies made before 1979 which great characters and storytelling.

I can't decide if I want to keep my UC4 preorder or wait to get it in the fall on sale. I want to finish borderlands, UC2 and UC3 on PS4 before I play it. And I have shadow complex tomorrow. Too much stuff lately.
Thanks for this post bro, I nearly forgot I had preordered this a while back and am just now getting into the UCC on PS4 and am currently still just on the first game. I figured I'd have played it a while ago that's why put the order in on the new game but I won't be done with the first three games for a while so I'm just gonna get it from Best Buy down the line.

I hate to be the one that brings this to everyone's attention, but megaman kind of sucks. I mean it's a totally serviceable game I guess, but I'm not entirely clear on why it has spawned eleventy billion sequels and a frothing-at-the-mouth fanbase.
Like Zimm said, 1 is a bit rough around the edges but 2 and 3 are excellent.

Specifically they excel at challenging platforming, great enemy design, good and unique boss battles, multiple new weapons to learn, evolving mechanics, and wonderful soundtracks.

They're all structured almost exactly the same, which is a pretty big drawback. It's also amplified by playing 6 of them back to back, which is pretty ridiculous. (I was completely burnt out on the series by the time I finished with the Legacy Collection.) But playing one per year, I'd imagine you'd have a pretty great time with all of them if you were a fan of the series.

Looks like Stardew Valley is going to come to consoles eventually. Kinda cool, the PC version looked fun. Another one man dev team, but he's going to have Chucklefish handle the ports while he works on any new content for the game.

Yeah, I saw that this morning. It's completely hypothetical at this point which is why I didn't post it. Stardew Valley is really popular on PC so hopefully the console part works out well. Chucklefish Games doesn't seem to have ported anything to PSN but Risk of Rain so far so we'll see.

I am actually looking forward to seeing if 2 is as good as I remember. I'm save scumming like a bitch on the first one just to get through it.

Some of these kill trophies and challenges in SR IV are way too fucking grind-y.
Yep. The gun ones especially. The game is so heavy on the powers that by the time I finished it I still had a ton of the gun stuff left to do.

I also ran into issues with the map; I didn't realize you can filter it to show the collectibles until I had like 2 left. I was just manually searching and using the minimap (which has really short range.) Felt pretty dumb when I figured out the filtering but it's not like the game tells you about it. Not as far as I noticed anyway.

Yeah Chucklefish is part of the Terraria team (maybe just he artist? I don't know) and have been working on Starbound forever. That was also announced for PS4 I think 2 years ago? And Risk of Rain I think took over a year from announcement until the port was actually released for PS4.

Long story short, if it really is Chucklefish handling the Stardew Valley port, it's going to be a long ways off.

1 is a bitch, it also has a ton of "fuck you" deaths, and doesn't give you temporary invincibility if you get knocked back onto spikes. You're just straight up dead.

I don't think even hardcore fans revere 1. They just understand that it was integral in crafting the later, better entries in the series.

For some reason using my Sony Playstation credit card on the PSN web store didn't work.  Tried to use it checkout - nada. Looping screen.

Tried to use it to fund my wallet, it ended up telling me I used paypal instead.

I can test it if you'd like. Just shoot me your info over PM. Can't trust these other guys, ya know?

Late to the party, but congratulations Sage.

I said yes. Well, I mostly cursed at him for surprising me, but it was an implied yes.
Just remember to actually say "I do" during the ceremony instead of just cursing him out.

That reminds me, we're all invited to the wedding, right?

the PS4 camera should be good enough, right?

I think my favorite sub-plot of this young baseball season is how every time the St. Louis Cardinals lose, Deadspin writes a super short article, with a small amount of game highlights and stats, telling us that they lost.  Then post it on Facebook saying "The Cardinals lost their Nth game."  fucking love it.

Of course they'd say that. What else will motivate people to buy the next CoD from the Ghosts developer?

Anyway, where did you see that?
With the Prime discount I would actually be tempted except for the fact that Best Buy seems to have killed new release trade values. Literally traded 2 games to them the whole year!
