PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

As far as I know, that has never really worked. That is the reason why psprices is so useful for catching unadvertised sales. Unfortunately, it does not look like it has updated as of yet.
It usually works better than this. There are one offs that dont show usually, but the big sales have been captured in my experience. Until today.

Did we ever hear if anyone has played the PS4 old Star Wars games (besides Super Star Wars) to see how they hold up/look/play?

I know a bunch of us talked about getting them, but not sure if anyone actually pulled the trigger. Thinking about grabbing a couple.
Podracer game I had a good time with. Munky played some of that boba fett game and it looked really rough.

You usually have to wait for the blog update post before you can expect the all deals thing to be updated to its close but not complete level. I forgot about that nuance too.

Sony is just...so dumb. They added a PS4 Throwback Pack for $24.99:

https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/star-wars-throwback-pack/cid=UP1082-NPUB50359_00-STARWARSTHROWPS4

  • STAR WARS™ Bounty Hunter™
  • STAR WARS™: Racer Revenge
  • STAR WARS™ Starfighter™
The three games together are $14.97 right now. Same with the Prototype bundle not being discounted even though the individual games are...completely opposite to how other sales have bundles go on sale but not the individual games. :wall:

Comic Con was awesome. We went as the Planeteers Friday, Mario Sports Saturday, and Pokemon Trainers on Sunday. Only a couple instances of socially maladjusted nerds who wouldn't just take their pictures and leave. Cute as fuck on Saturday when we ran into an 8 yr old bowser and got to take a group shot with him. Also my dude proposed on sunday, so I guess I'm one step closer to beating up a teen outside of JC Pennys for reality TV.
Just put 2 and 2 together. PLEASE tell me he proposed while dressed as a pokemon trainer and the ring was in a pokeball.

Maybe the discount just hasn't been applied to it yet?

And you were dressed as Pikachu, and when he proposed he said "Pikachu, I choose you!" and you screamed out "Pika!" and then he threw the ball at you.

We can shoot for tonight, 9PM EDT for anyone that can make it . My mics and everything are all packed to move but basically this is what the game plan would be as I understand it:

- team of 5
- contract owner picks specialists to give bonuses to the capital ship and then the mission starts.
- the map of the ship is at the top of the screen!!! that's the only way to see if a part is being attacked if it's not right in front of you

I think the actual run goes something like this:

Phase 1. you start out in PvE with toughish guardians. the primary goal is to mine as much ore as fast as possible (you have 5 minutes) and build up the ship like a base. so bring speedy ships or raider ships that can hold 2x as much and just grab ore and run away from the guardians.

Phase 2. first PvP round (also 5 minutes long) and most likely round to wipe because your systems/ships are still at a low level, especially if you get dropped in a 10v10 match and everyone wants to bring you down. bring justicars / heavy hitters and stand + defend + heal as much as possible all of the capital ships structures. could switch out to raiders as needed (e.g. warden with the plasma trail) to keep folks back. watch for bulldogs (I think) - the ones with the timer bombs. I was able to nearly solo a low level capital ship with that stupid bomb in 5 minutes, so push the bombs away if you see them no matter what.

Phase 3. back to PvE (5 minutes), speedy mining / leveling. hopefully ship systems are getting up to level 3/4 by now.

Phase 4. second PvP (5 minutes), same strategy w/ heavy hitters etc. ship systems are more capable of taking care of themselves so it's probably ok to venture out a bit to push away aggressive types

Phase 5. last round of PvE (5 minutes), with any luck all ship systems will be repaired and at level 5 by the end of this phase

Phase 6. last round of PvP (5 minutes), hopefully the team is all at level 10/ship systems at level 5 and we get dropped in a 5v5 match that just started where nobody cares

hopefully whoever participates can communicate even if I can't - I could probably use my vita for party chat and annoy my wife with it. I'm definitely happy to use one of my contracts for our test run now that I have a spare. for spending 30 minutes doing this you can get a boatload of awards - I think after every phase you get the usual sorts of rewards/xp (so 6 rounds worth) and if you make it to the end you get elite fancy stuff - paint jobs, portraits, more contracts, etc.
Pancaked and I can carry you depending on how many people can do the contract.

I played through like 2/3rds of the Jedi Starfighter game. I thought it looked and played great for a PS2 game. Do recommend.

I don't like the way the Inside Out guy way in the back is staring at me.
Well what did you do to him to make him look at your like that, zimm? WHAT DID YOU DO?

Did you buy the Vita version to get the black suit Spider-Man or just pick that up off ebay?
Nah, they sell him separately now. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/disney-disney-infinity-disney-originals-3-0-edition-marvels-black-suit-spider-man-figure/4847700.p?id=bb4847700&skuId=4847700

everyone that hates music posts, avert your gaze

I can't stop listening to tiny moving parts. I doubt anyone would be too big of a big fan here. they're pretty terrible lyricists. but watching their videos and listening to their anthemic mathy dopey music makes me deeply miss playing shows more than I can remember. damn that looks fun.

I've probably posted this exact thing before. just feeling it again today.
While sorting my music, I came across a track by Reggie and The Full Effect called "Drunk Guy At The Get Up Kids Show." I assumed it was about you.

Don't know if anyone else here besides Therm signed up for the Grand Kingdom beta, but I just got my code.

Finished Force Unleashed 2, as two pieces of standalone DLC for Force Unleashed 1 I would consider it good, but a full retail game?

There's the first level which is a bit of a tutorial, then the next 3 levels are really one level chopped into two chapter stops with a boss, the 5th level is tiny (like 50 yards) and just has a cutscene, then 6th and 7th levels are really 1 level with a chapter stop in the middle, and then there's the seventh level in which 1/3 of it is a rehash of the 1st level. It's probably half the length or shorter than the previous game.

Short length would be fine if the story was more compelling but it's pretty simplistic, find character A, character A helps in search for character B, save character B. If I had paid full price I would have felt ripped off, but $5 (what I paid on sale) is a fair price. Unlike the first game, the DLC level is extremely reasonably priced. In the first game, each was $10, for the second game it is a little shorter than the first game's DLC levels but it's only $1. I am assuming that was a universal price drop at some point, it annoys me to no end that they've never dropped the price or had a sale on the first game's DLC.

One thing they did to make it less of a button masher is they mixed in periodic strong enemies which are strong against a variety of Starkiller's saber and force powers to the point where you have to use the correct power in order to either kill them, or break their guard do you can attack with other powers. The force powers are also mixed in with the saber combos so you could go saber, saber, saber, lightning and Starkiller will charge his saber with lightning for the 4th strike which doubles the length of both blades for that attack.

The level design is pretty uninspired and very linear. Kamino, a floating casino city in the desert, a rebel starship under siege, and then Kamino again. I would say they must have had a LucasArts B-team working on this and not given them enough money and/or time to make it more exceptional. The combat is mostly fine, it's just much everything else about it is pretty half-baked.

Finished extra hard playthrough of Endor DLC, so about an hour of content for $0.50 (bought it on sale, normally $1). Very linear path (which isn't that different from the rest of the game) but the forest is a nice change of scenery at least. A few light puzzle elements, 3 new costumes which are shit, a few new enemy types (you get to murder ewoks) and a couple of boss battles (with familiar faces). The second boss battle was actually more challenging than the final boss battle of the main game (but fair) on extra hard, It comes with several trophies (300 TT worth) and it can be done pretty easily in 1 playthrough, you just have to press start and exit game (to the main menu) before the screen goes black after you die, then select continue for the no death trophy. You restart at the last checkpoint with full health.

If you decide to buy and beat the main game, I'd say it's a no brainer to buy the Endor DLC, it's worth it just to punt kick ewoks and to support reasonably price DLC.
That trophy card is amazing.

If he threw the ball at her wouldnt that be considered domestic violence?  This marriage is off to a rocky start with him hitting her while she is cursing him out.

There's some LOOT Interactive bundle on sale for $10.

Included are three fast-paced, action games:
The Last Tinker™: City of Colors (PS4™), Velocibox (PS4™ and “PS Vita”), and Fluster Cluck (PS4™)

Also included are two Dynamic Themes for PS4™:

The Last Tinker™ PS4™ Dynamic Theme, and Velocibox Dynamic Theme

https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/loot-action-packed-bundle/cid=UP2135-NPUB50350_00-LOOTACTIONBUND02

Worth it at all?  I think I remember hearing Fluster Cluck sucked a duck in the muck while it chucked a buck.

Hard to tell if it's just variations of her name. Also, don't know if cops can hear someone scream from inside a Pokeball.

Damnit now I want all three. I wonder if anyone is selling those pack-in vouchers for cheaper than the $15 sale price for all three.
I keep an eye on the trading thread pretty regularly and haven't noticed any lately. Even when they were all over the place I don't think they got much cheaper than $15.

So yesterday my neighbor sends me a text and asks if this is a good deal. He sent me a pic of an X1 Kinect system for $399.99 which included no games. I told him that's a horrible price and if he really wanted an X1 I could find a better deal. Then he asked what's the differences between X1 and PS4 and I told him exclusives like Halo or Gears of War you have to have an X1. If you like Sony exclusives like Uncharted or God of War then go with a PS4. Plus I told him those Japanese titty games won't be on X1. I showed him Uncharted and he liked the gameplay and said I want to play it. Let's just say Sony sold another PS4, white DS4, PS+ year and Uncharted collection. He was surprised when I got Best Buy to PM the controller which saved him $15. I told him to wait til next week if he wanted Uncharted 4 but he wanted the system yesterday. Sony should send me $20 in PSN space bucks.

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned. I just found out about it.

If you go to http://assassinscreed.ubi.com/en-US/rewards/rewards.aspx you can earn rewards for credits. Seems to be only be digital items left in the rewards. You can get in-game Xbox codes for Assassin's Creed. You get the codes instantly after redeeming them.

Also, it seem that you can keep doing the spin to win game over and over again. Do 5 spins. Then go to the link again at http://assassinscreed.ubi.com/en-US/rewards/spin-to-win/index.aspx and it lets you spin 5 more times. Keeps letting me do it.

The rewards are at http://assassinscreed.ubi.com/en-US/rewards/rewards.aspx

Saw someone on SD post this. Supposedly the rewards program ends on May 9th.

So... uh... guess it's on me to give the credit to CodeTrader since that's his post verbatim.

Cool. I'd be interested in Runbow and S+S 2 for Wii U if anybody got those and didn't want them. Just putting it out there...

I really enjoyed SWFUII. It was short as fuck though. I never got to punt kick ewoks though, guess I'm going to spend the $0.50 to punt some ewoks.

I saw that. Would be cool to see all of them for probably the last opportunity. Roger Waters is the only one I've seen...I assume most of them sound like shit live now, but it'd still be a hell of an experience, and everyone could probably just sing along to every damn song they sing.

I think it was $5 before.

I have Velocibox and Fluster Cluck but haven't played either. I would have bought that bundle for $5 if I didn't have them already, now I just gotta kinda wait for a super cheap price on Last Tinker.

I'd guess none of the 3 are actually great. I think Pitfall flipflopped a lot on Last Tinker, so maybe its average?

The Magic Circle review:

https://invertedaccess.com/2016/05/03/the-magic-circle-gold-edition-review/

It's a "meta" game, you control a play tester playing a game that is basically in development hell, with the two creative leads unable to agree on anything. you have the ability to edit certain creatures to make them allies, tell them who their enemies are, what kinds of attack and movement styles they have.

Its fairly funny, it helps to have some basic knowledge of the game development world, though I think anyone could play it. It's an adventure game with some light puzzling, only takes about 4 hours. It would be a pretty decent sale pickup for those that would be interested in a game like that.
