PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

I saw Lionel Ritchie live as a musical guest on Late Show with David Letterman back in 1995. It was the only time where I camped out for tickets - standby tickets. Took 5 hours. Anyway ...

Am I the only one that still has some issues of Nintendo Power? The oldest one I have has Illusion of Gaia on the cover.

Illusion of Gaia was pretty good. Never did play Terranigma, though.

Nope, I have a bunch in some boxes from assorted years that I subscribed to them, usually when there was some bonus attached to subscribing/renewing.

Last day for me to pick up Arkham Knight. The pull of cheap games almost overrides my common sense that says I'll never play the game again. Stupid Batmobile segments.

So now that I am playing Super Mario RPG, it's giving me the motivation to go through my PS1 classics backlog and delete some crappy games from my hard drive, the latest being Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six.

That being said, I notice a bunch of RPG's on here that I bought from past sales. Which of these games should I try first:

Suikoden

Chrono Trigger

Legend of Mana

Vagrant Sstory

Xenogears

Front Mission 3

Front Mission 3 is fucking long. It's a fun game, I just remember it taking me ages to beat back in the day. And I only beat 1 side of the story. Couldn't get myself to try out the second path.

Suikoden is short but lacks a lot of niceties of later RPGs, including the sequel, missing things like a run button unless you have a certain party member and having to deal with individual inventories instead of 1 shared one. Good story, though, and beating it unlocks a few things for the sequel if you ever got that in a flash sale.

Chrono Trigger is the best game on the list.

Legend of Mana if you don't want a more traditional turn based game.

Vagrant Story I just remember being kind of hard to figure out.

And I never played Xenogears.

There, some useless insight into all of them. For my next post, I will rank them against all of the Final Fantasy games.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

I purposely left off Final Fantasy games to give the other games a chance in case they sucked and I can free up my PS3 hard drive.

I am pretty sure I tossed the ones I had during a purge years ago. But I kept the strategy guides they put out.

Chrono Trigger and Suikoden are my 2 picks. CT is a fantastic game and I've beaten Suikoden multiple times.

Are their still weird "load times" on the digital version of the PS1 Chrono Trigger? I played it on the SNES (both actually and... "digitally"), PS1, and NDS. The PlayStation loading was not game-breaking, but just sort of annoying. Keep in mind I
don't own a PS4, Vita, or any digital PS1 releases
, so I don't know how it works in general.

If people didn't talk about the loading times then most people would never think twice about the loading times.
Unless you've played a version without them. It may not be noticeable otherwise, as you say, but it is if you're familiar with the original SNES release.

This puzzle room in Song of the Deep seems like a daunting task. I'm surrounded by mirrors and beams of light and I have no clue what the fuck to do first.

The game is really good, by the way.

Legend of Mana. Short and fun.

Delete Chrono Trigger and play it on an SNES emulator or on the DS.

Kind of a strange coincidence here...

I contacted HumbleBundle support about accessing a secondary Humble account I have.

A few hours later, someone tried resetting my Walmart.com account (forgot I had one).  The reset code was sent to the email tied to my Humble account.  Didn't really think they were related at the time.

Humble support never got back to me, so I made another ticket.

A few hours later, someone tried resetting my Walmart.com password again!

Very weird.

Wonder if they'll take as long as those Operation Rainfall cases for Xenoblade Chronicles, Last Story, and Pandora's Tower.  Remember that shitstorm?

And apparently Amazon still hasn't shipped some people the game based on some of the replies.
