PSP-3000 Announced

Man that looks good. I would wait to buy it, but I think I'll be fine with the current slim model I'm about to pick up. I don't feel like waiting for the stand alone model to come out. Plus, if the hardware stuff you guys were talking about is true, I don't want this version anyway.
Goddamn! That is one helluva screen!

but is that the screen or just the anti-glare mentioned.

I still dont see the big upgrade here. If they could have made some case revisions from the current slim I might think about picking one up later on when the core comes out (as I just bought a slim 2000). The umd and mem card slots are just so flimsy. And the whole thing feels as if I might break it by holding it too tight. My friend's phat psp feels much sturdier an solid.
I'm going to get one. I'm pretty sure any psp will be hackable, just give it some time.
Well the latest motherboard on slim refues to run anything not signed by sony. It will be very difficult to get pass that.

You just need to find an exploit...i'm sure the hackers will crack the new PSP(s), just a matter of time.

seeing how pandora is patched and can only run signed ip. they have to look for exploit from games, and that will be a lot harder than before.

Looks nice, and I've been thinking about upgrading my original fat one since it's scratched up and I lost the analog nub. I don't really play it that much, though, so I'll probably just wait until the PSP2 or Xbox handheld or something. My Zune covers my music and video needs, and I might buy an iPhone eventually which makes the PSP really excessive.

You can buy replacement analog nubs, they usually come in a 3-pack depending on the manufacturer. Scratches may be fixable too, you'd need to find a certain rubbing compound.
Or just sell the damned thing as is and get a shiny new one
What if we play games on our PSP instead of looking at strawberries?
Who the fuck does that?

Hmm... my PSP laser motor just shit itself...

Maybe I'll keep my fatty for a portable SNES and get a new one for my PSP games...

I feel like I bought a front lit sp all over again. The screen is really nice but I would have preferred a battery that would have significantly increased play time.
So stupid to announce this right after the madden pack and to not have the 4 gig pack out the same day as the ratchet pack. All those people that got the madden pack got so screwed. If anyone acts like they don't care that they got they have the slim and not the 3000 they are stupid.

Look around if you really want new pads. I had some Naki ones in a 3 pack, just the same huge nubs in 3 different colours. Then I found a pack that had 5-6 nubs, one of them being the same size (or really close to) the original. I bought mine on clearance at The Source by Circuit City (Canadian store only I think) for like 2 bucks.

Now if I could only find the manufacturer :whistle2:k

I'm thinking about picking this up when it comes out. I have had my PSP since launch day I don't play it every day, but I do go through time when I play it for days straight instead of my console systems.

The main thing that has always been my biggest issue with the system is the incredible amount of ghosting the screen has. Some games like Death Jr are so bad that they are hard to play.

I would love to be able to test one of these when they come out to see if the new screen really has that much better of a refresh rate.

* Might * as well pick this one up when it is released. I know I said I would skip it because it doesn't have internal gigs of memory but what else do you think a 4k model could bring to the table?

The improved LCD screen of the psp-3000 does come at a cost....it drains the battery faster. Sony said around 20 mins. less play time compared to the psp-2000. Still worth the upgrade, though!

I put in a pre-order on amazon for the ratchet and clank psp-3000 bundle. 199.99 or something for a the psp-3000, a gig stick if I read it correctly and a UMD of national treasure 2 (yawn).

I want it now though. I want to play RPGs now and totaly stand out as a dork on the train despite being in a suit and tie.

Just to point out other then the mic add-on the prime reason for the PSP 3000 was all hardware modifications to prevent custom firmware and other types of hacks being used on the system as custom firmware and hacks have over taken the PSP Fat and PSP Slim
