Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords
Rumble pack, blowing the microphone, front slot, back slot, etc.

Moving on...
You're totally turning me on with that talk....

:wall:

I'm like level 32 now. Was playing it a lot this weekend. I'm almost getting sick of it...

I am pickin up bitches in my Giant Rat. This game is so much fun!

So what's everyone else riding? I love my Rat, LOL
Griffon for life - death dive ftk? hell yah.
I have one of them! I haven't used it yet. Death Dive is good? Hmm..

I just like my rat because it adds some Cunning to my skills.

haha, I'm riding the rat too.

its a very fun game, i'm level 12.. but it sure is a battery eater.
My game seems to be freezing quite a bit. Anyone else experiencing this? It has yet to freeze in mid battle or at least a point that would piss me off.
I havent had any freezes yet. I dont even get that sound loop bug that some have reported.

My biggest gripe with the game so far is in the retarded pathfinding. I'll click on a location thats 3 points away, and my guy will take a circular route thu 7-8 other points to get to the same place. And of course he runs into creatures by going that way. Its gotten soo annoying that now I just hold his hand and click on the next point along my path, then repeat until I get to where Im going.

As I expected, EB bumped the used price of this up to $25 from $20. Before they managed to really accumulate any used stock. Ah well.
the comments on the youtube page say the guy "hexed" it which im guessing means he edited his save file to boost his stats.
Thats what Ive been hearing as well. People are giving themselves 255 in every stat. Thats why the game is completely broken for multiplayer. It comes down to whoever goes first, cos with the right items and maxed stats you can one hit kill anyone .

The only was to have fair multiplayer is for both players to use brand new, level 1 characters.

Yeah, the multiplayer mode was questionably implemented, but I think most of us love the game for the single player mode anyway.

This will give them something to work toward in the sequel: better multiplayer focus with wifi-enabled play (not likely in a third party game, but I can dream).

I know I posted this in the PSP version forum, but I just downloaded the demo and wasted (in a good way) about 5 hours on it. I am so addicted to this game, I have to buy it. However, I'm not sure whether I want the PSP or DS version.

I like the stylus controls on DS, and the effects on PSP (from videos I've seen) seems to make it a little bit difficult to see what happened when the icons disappear and fall.
Sometimes I touch a gem and it mistakes it for the one next to it and I get an illegal move. Does that happen to anyone?
Yeah but you learn to control the stylus better. It IS you, and not the game. That is what you will also learn :p

Yeah that only happens to me when Im playing on a moving bus or train. lol

Okay, I noticed something about the game. The puzzles arent random at all, theres only a few of them. And even the drops from above are the same every time. I started to notice that every 3-4 battles, I would get the same starting grid. The one that made me notice this starts out with a 3 skull vertical match near the bottom left corner. This board also starts out with 3 yellow manas in an 'L' shape in the top right corner.

I know its the same board, and the drops are the same cos I can get the same combo every single time. I match the 3 skulls in the lower left, then hopefully the cpu wont match the red mana vertical match near the top left. Cos if you hit that one, you get two 3-skull drops that match up, including a firey skull. Ive done this a dozen times at least so I know for a fact that its the same exact puzzle every time.

There cant be more than 4 or 5 puzzles total. Of course they will play out differently depending on the matches you and the cpu make, but they all start out the same, which makes repeatable early match combos possible.

If you're having illegal move issues, you might also try recalibrating your screen.

Does this happen only when you have just started, or do you get this board even after playing for a while? I think the game is set to use the same board every time you turn it on, but after that it seems pretty random, to me at least.

I'll play for 4 hours straight without powering down, and I'll see that same board every 4-5 fights. So its a reoccuring thing.
...loving this game so far, its almost taking away my social life
Hence the reason mine is still sealed. Semester's out in a month, and then this game is going to own my life.

i hate how when you get a 4-combo, that huge FOUR COMBO displays on the screen for forever. it makes it really hard to play the 3-second limit games. anyone else have that problem?

yeah it's total shit.

this is a great game concept, but the execution is just so-so.

i have had no trouble trouncing the living shit out of anything with hand of power and fireball - before that there was lots of strategy, but now it's just too easy.

Then just don't use those abilities?
It's a glitch:

Also, I'm pretty sure I'm at the end of the game. Just doing some sidequests first before plowing down the final boss. I'm level 44.
.
Im at the same point in my game.

And it sucks about that glitch. Although as was pointed out in link... it would make spell research easier. :)

And I too hate it when the displays stay on the screen too long in timed games. I cant level up my mounts anymore cos I cant see the board! >(

But, I still love this game.

i found an awesome way to power level with my knight, its 100% lockdown once you have enough mana (stun, vigil, knight lord) as long as there is a good chunk of exp stars on screen this is guaranteed uber exp, easily got 400 per match, but then any skulls not transformed by knight lord accidentally kills my opponent

I love the game, but I feel like the whole town sieging is imbalanced. You can get a few grand per minute if you siege three towns in a triangle and then just go from one to other, and then when you use that gold to buy skills you become way stronger than you should. My level 17 Knight took out a level 40-something Flame Dragon pretty easily... and my stats were higher than his.

Also, Wizards suck hardcore. So awful. Bad spells, bad stats. The other three classes are somewhat balanced, but Wizards are ridiculously awful.

I hate to borrow from WoW terminology, but

lrn2play

Seriously, I can pump out 40+ damage a turn, for 3-6 turns in a row with Hand of Power / Fireball. I'm stupid powerful.

Beat it tonight. Then I played Trace Memory for the first time. And beat it. So I beat two fairly meaty games (meaning not like an hour long) in one night. I think that's a first for me. Now I have a week to do a schoolwork fest before I start Mother 3 again. Going to be playing it, the legit Japanese GBA cart, annually on its release date until the fuckers release it here. This could be a while...

That'll teach 'em!
That'll teach 'em!
It's not to teach them anything, it's to keep the dream alive!! ;)

Also I'd played a version of Lunar (either SSSC or Legend) annually prior to this. It's time to mix it up.

I just lost a Godlike forge at 20 anvils (out of 21). I never thought a puzzle game would be capable of making me this emotional. I was at 17, then got an awesome Heroic Effort that cascaded three anvil matches, brought into the heavens only to burn and crash.

I have no desire to play at all right now, with dreams crushed, but I know this Puzzle Quest burnout is only going to last a couple minutes.

I bet you started playing again two minutes after you posted this ;)

oh yeah forged items are tons better than anything you can possibly get otherwise, save a few unbalanced weapons, like the firewalker's staff.

i have equipment that gives +24 red mana +24 yellow mana +16 green mana to start the match (in addition to what you get from mastery), +5 to all mana whenever i match 4, and a few random morale and wind mastery.

basically all i need to do is match a couple of 4s when i start the match, web for 5 turns, then flaming skulls and keep matching fours and repeat.
lord bane never even got to take a turn.
