I'm sooo fucking excited for this game. This was my favorite street racer on XBOX.

Nice. I can't remember the last MC game I played, but the moves you could pull off with the cars were quite cool. The motorcycle racing worked well, too.

 at the people getting so excited, like Rockstar was never going to announce this or something ;)

Cmon, they are sequel whores, if Manhunt got a sequel everyone must have known deep in their hearts Midnight Club would definitely get one, especially since MC 3 went both GH and PH :D

Maybe I'll have another next gen system in 2008 to play it, MC 3 was awesome.

I've been looking forward to this, enjoyed the 2nd and 3rd games on PS2 a lot. Can't wait until it comes out, didn't finish MC 3 Remix, probably have to pop it in sometime.

Wow, that game looks great. I hope it's 100% free roam like MC2 was.

ohh baby listen to that mustang purr! I cannot wait. It looks absolutely sick. First person mode looks amazing. I love the MC series.

My biggest complaint with MC3 is the lie about DLC on the original packaging .

I know the PH version has it on the disc .

I'd love for this game to be a total ripoff of Test Drive Unlimited. Test Drive has shit for driving mechanics (motorcycles cornered worse than cement trucks). TDU was a great idea but the game felt sloppy and uninspired, like they just taked on missions after spending the majority of time rendering cars and developing that insanely huge and detailed environment.
2 page preview and new pics , are in this months Game Informer [Ghostbusters cover] .
Thanks for the heads up. Did you already receive your magazine?

Living in LA I am super hyped for this game and I am not a big racing fan. Has anyone seen anything on how much of LA this is going to cover? I have visions of using this game to give my wife driving directions, but its use in that regards will be limited if it doesn't come up into the valley.

I just hope they change the AI so that cop cars actually attack everyone and not just you. It was a pain in the ass in part 3 to have cop cars kill themselfs to hit you while it completly ignored the AI controlled cars.
Will this have Beverly Hills & Hollywood too?

I thought they were parts of L.A.
It should at least go from the 5 to the ocean east-west, so Beverly Hills and Hollywood would be included. You might just see them though and not be able to drive through them (the Hollywood sign is in the screen shots). It will depend on how far north-south it goes. It would kick ass if it went up to the 101 to Topanga Canyon.

---------

I finally got to watch the trailer and you definitely can drive through Hollywood. It actually shows you driving on Hollywood Blvd

Hey guys,

I've been playing Forza Motorsport 2 and other driving games like PGR 3 / 4, Test Drive, NFS, etc and like the true driving simulation experience (via FM2) best.

Are the MC series like FM2 or other arcade driving games? Example, Burnout Paradise's controls are programmed for fun and is forgiving ( so u don't oversteer or lose control, etc.).

Thanks for the heads - up.

Peace.

It's very much an arcade racer. I didn't play 3, but in MC2, you could pull off moves like driving on two wheels to get through tight spaces.

lol i forgot about that. Hopefully it will bring more to the table that burnout paradise hasnt already. I always liked the customizations in MC

this and nba 2k9 are my only "must have games no matter what" for the rest of the year...already got my credit waiting for them to release...the other ones (endwar, CoD 5, etc.) will be based on reviews
Hmm... It actually looks and sounds decent so far.
have you played the previous MC's? they are all quality street racers (i prefer them over NFS games)

my favorite NFS street racing game was the first NFSU...then it went downhill from there

anyway, just read the teamxbox article and it looks like they added more gametypes (mission-type modes like deliverying celebrity cars in an alotted time, and smashing someone elses car as revenge)....seems like they're infusing a bit of GTA into this one, which is cool by me

also, they're adding a layering system like Forza did for car decals...won't be as robust as Forza 2's, but it will still have 16 layers for people to be creative

sweet, i'll be getting this day 1

I don't do arcade racers. My experience has been MC has been worse than NFS which isn't saying much since NFS sucks balls.
I don't do arcade racers. My experience has been MC has been worse than NFS which isn't saying much since NFS sucks balls.
well if you don't do arcade racers, i don't think this game will change your mind about them...it's basically gonna be more of the same from what i've read so far
I just think in this day and age it's a real cop out to do a "arcade" racer.
well some people think it's more fun that way, it's a video game, which is about fun most of the time, and about realism less of the time

You can have an "acade" racer game and still have decent physics... It's kind of like everyone cries about not having a "drift mode" there's no such thing (in terms of physics)...
You can have an "acade" racer game and still have decent physics... It's kind of like everyone cries about not having a "drift mode" there's no such thing (in terms of physics)...
having decent physics makes it more "sim," which some games are not going for when they are arcade racers

Just read the IGN preview for this game, and it sounds exactly like what I wanted: tried and true midnight club game
Integrated Custom Soundtracks please
amen to that...yea, all 360 games have custom soundtrack options, but they usually sacrifice in-game sounds for them...

just watched the trailer and it looks great. it's gonna be fun for sure :D
