Ok I read speedy's topic on all the deals going on and saw that BB is selling R6:Vegas for 39.99, my question is, is that just a new year's deal or is it throughout the whole first week of January? Because my b-day is on the 5th and I'm sure I'll be getting some money so this game would be a great buy for me since I've been wanting this game!
 
So, is that a good price for the game. I plan on eventually buying it, but am wondering if my $25 BB gift certificate would be better spent elsewhere? Playing the demo, I know I'll suck at the game, so... :D

Great price, it retails for $59.99. Use the BB GGC and get it for $34.99 at BB!

GGC means Gamer Gift Cards. I've visited several BestBuy's in my area and none offer GamerGiftCards anymore. Search up GGC for more information-there's a thread out there.
 
Weird, BB was offering free shipping the other night, but now they are not! Call me confused...
 
Gogamer has promotion right now? Isn't it cheaper to buy it there. LINK

Good game btw, they still need to do alot work on the PC's version though.

That's the PC version and it's OOS.
 
I'd say it's 39.99 wellspent (34.99) with the GGC, the games kinda boring when you start, but once youre in and comfortable, it's a blassssssst.
 
This deal is bullshit. I went to BB on Sunday, an hour after they opened to pick up Rainbow Six for $35 with my GGC and of course they don't have any in stock. Asked an employee to check the other stores in the area to see if they had any, and every single one within 30 miles of me was sold out.

Been checking all the BB's daily since then and they still haven't re-stocked it yet, which I'm sure is intentional. I'd bet my $50 BB gift card that they'll be flooded with them immediately after the sale has ended though. :roll:
 
Tell them you want a raincheck or pay for it and they will call you win it comes in. Of course they don't usually call when I have done this, you will probably need to keep checking but at least you will get it at the sale price.

I actually got a raincheck but it's half-assed and I have a feeling they won't honor it when the time comes, or at least let me use my GGC coupon with it. It's basically just a print-out with the name of the game + sku # (says "Best Buy Raincheck" at the top though). Has the original $59.99 price on it but the employee made a note on it saying it was on sale for $39.99, so I dunno. Never got a raincheck from BB before, so I'm not sure how they work.

I'd love to pay for it in advance though, that way they couldn't screw me over with a raincheck. Do most Best Buys let you do that for out of stock items?

Tell them you want to place a "Sold Order". My wife has done it a number of times. That is what they call it when you pay in advance for it. Not all of the trained monkeys know how to do one so you might have to go to customer service counter. If you have a Circuit City nearby you could get a price match plus a percentage of the difference. Maybe not as cheap as using a GGC, but pretty close and you wouldn't have to wait.
 
Thanks a lot for the tip, bmsdaddy. I'll try and place one of those Sold Orders next time I go in. I thought about the doing the price match thing at CC, but I got a BB gift card for christmas, so it'd be best if I could get it from BB.

Or you can buy it online like everyone else seems to be doing... ;)

For $1.99 shipping, it's not the worth the hassle to actually go to their retail stores IMO.

Well, I'm a true CAG, so I can't bring my self to pay $7 more for a game online while I know I can get it for less in-store (if I can find it).


I'm convinced that this $39.99 Rainbow Six sale is a complete fucking scam, at least the in-store portion anyways. I've been checking the online item locater DAILY since the sale began and ZERO stores near me (that's *6* total) have bothered to re-stock this game. I just got back from one store that said they had it in-stock online but when I got there, they didn't have it. Talked to an employee and he said it must have been a return and they sold it within the 30 minutes it took me to check online and drive down there. :headache:


(BTW, the dickface in the games dept said I couldn't do one of those 'Sold Orders' for the game. Apparently that store doesn't do them according to him for some reason. Was too livid at that time to confirm with the front desk. I'm going to go ballistic if I don't get this soon.)
