As you know... Sony announced a week or two ago that they were stopping production on this item...

and as you might know... prices for this item at Sears have been dropping for the past six months.....

but today... as luck would have it... the item was completely closed out of their system.... and as more YMMV luck would have it....
I was given mine for the lowly price of just $0.01.

This pretty much defines YMWV... but expect huge prices slashed and crazy instances for this item to be happening all over the place now... starting at Sears.

Highly recommended...and no....

no.. as much as wouldve liked to walk out of there with a hundred for a dollar...
i picked up the last one at my location.

sound on this thing is amazing. picture is phenomenal.

if i were you... and i really wanted it... head to your local sears for opening time tommorow (saturday)

ask to buy one.... have them scan it in... have them go "huh.. its not coming up..."
then cross your fingers... and pray for a miracle...
by luck... my cashier said that when that happens... they are to have been cleared out already... and that technically... if it doesnt show in the system... it means the last price on it was $0.01... so he just typed in the price and misc item... and
boom!
free screen.

i dunno if this is all sears.. but i wouldnt doubt it...

Well, I was planning on going to the bank tomorrow morning anyway, so I guess I can withdraw an extra penny and give it a shot.
 
Also.. I wanted to say... try not to be asshats if you get lucky...
as much as i'd of liked to buy them all if there were more... i dont think asking for thirteen on them is going to help your case... plus you'd spoil it for everyone else...

I'm going to try tomorrow. Last time I went though, it was still $100+ and only one left....chances are very slim.
 
I was just at sears today and the they had like 10 combos and 5 screens. The combos were priced at 75 and the screen was higher than that I belive. I should have had them scanned.

How's this: $15 shipped, if I can't get one tomorrow. It will go perfectly with my PSOne battery pack, but alas, no PSOne.
 
That means the item is zeroed out, some stores will sell it at the very last price it was before the "zero" status took effect. depending on the store this could range anywhere from 20.00 to .001, I know at my local store it was 15 and change. Stores don't always have to sell them either after they get Zeroed out, so this is a huge YMMV, good luck to all.

Yes and no. No, it will not directly attach in any way (except ducktape). Yes, you can buy adapters to attach the screen to the ps2, and the monitor itself has its own power.
 
Sorry, but this deal sounds too good to be true. I'm not calling anyone a liar but I would like to see some proof (sales receipt scan).

If anyone finds a great deal I will definitly pay for shipping plus another $10 for your troubles, as long as the total doesnt rise above $30.
 
This is either bogus or VERY YMMV. I went and checked out a Sears in Maryland and it rang up 69.99. Thats too bad because I could have used one for a penny!
 
Im not sure how it works at sears
but at bestbuy when stuff gets zero'd out
it either gets thrown away (strategy guides .01 cent)

or the employees get the stuff for free/penny

i doubt anyone will be able to go to a sears and get lucky like this.
 
Joystickz has been around here forever. For those that are doubting him, I wouldn't. There are tons of YMMV deals. Just because it doesn't work at yours doesn't mean that someone else isn't getting the deal.
 
I called Sears today and the guy looked up the price for the LCD screen and he couldnt get it to scan at first, but then he got it and said it was 69.97, any chance he could have mistaken it for a combo pack? I'm trying to find one before I go on a trip.
 
Damn... I just bought one for $30. If I can get my hands on a cheaper one I'd try that mod they did on Hardocp. Great find though!
 
I have just called my local sears ( Cerritos, CA ) and i have comfirmed that the LCD screen is priced at 69.97 They have 1 in stock and the cashier said that he rang it up and it showed 69.97. Must be in the NY area then probably not in the southern california area. :/

Ditto. When chains like Target or, apparently, Sears clear out items, there's no guarantee that (a) all stores will be getting rid of the item at the same time or that (b) the price will be the same at all of the stores. It's worth a shot to go and check...but in the end, it's all up to the luck of the draw...

too bad people waste so much time on neigh-saying rather than going out and giving it a shot...

yes this IS a one in a something chance... but its worth a shot...

additionally... even if its not a penny... its still worth 60 bucks... and then 30 bucks... i mean c'mon.... its worth a shot.. so what if you arent as lucky as I am... (trust me... i've got problems of my own... and this IS a rarity for me) maybe you can get one for $10?
who knows...
just give it a try... and i do especially urge you guys not to call ahead... that would only raise eyebrows... and lessen your chance of them letting you practically steal it off the shelf.

only call to see if the Sony Standalone psONE LCD screen is in stock... with the white box...

if they say yes.... head in and just give it a shot.. who knows... right?
