Rated M For More Of The Same Crap

Haha, the bit about the game footage being more exciting than the Halo games is pretty true. I'll quote a friend from many years ago on the intro video before Halo:CE. "It makes the game look fun". lmao. Also, i had no problem buying ODST day one considering how cheap it was on Amazon.
That doesnt change the fact that a MSRP of $60 is too high
You get a 5 hour campaign, online co-op, firefight plus all of the Halo 3 mutliplayer experience which I am willing to bet is currently the most played online console game. I really dont see the problem. If you already have Halo 3 then sell the multiplayer disk somewhere.

This is just another way that they are trying to make more money off of the Halo IP, same with Halo: Reach when it comes out

Whats wrong with that? It sells like fucking hotcakes...why wouldnt they continue the IP?

Video was great!!! LOL.

Still, ODST might be the best GOTY for me thus far. Firefight is awesome, already passed the campaign 5 times (4 on Legendary), and love it still.

Yup, and considering that my copy of Halo 3 has gotten more playtime than several of the JRPGs I've gotten all of the achievements in (90+ Hours for Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey each), I'd say in full confidence that this game set (Campaign, Firefight, and Multiplayer) is worth the $60.

I don't agree with everything he said in the video, especially breaking a game into dollars per hour as a valuation of its worth. But I do agree about the lack of in game footage. Do they think that little of the actual game that they sell it with a completely irrelevant movie trailer?

There isn't a more lame argument out there. How many GTA's are there at this point? No one bitches about those.

And as mentioned in the ODST thread, bitch all you want about length but play it on a higher difficulty. You'll get your money's worth out of Legendary (even Heroic, depending on your skill level).

If you're the type of person who enjoys replaying games on harder difficulty...

But it's still silly to bitch. I saw how short it was, and added in that I don't enjoy Halo online, and didn't bother picking it up or requesting it on Goozex. May change my mind on the latter down the road and list it, beat it and send it back out for the same amount of points on only be out $3 or so for the trade credit and shipping.

I think the point of this video flew way over your head.
I think the point of this video flew way over your head.
I understood the point of the video just fine. I understand that it is a parody of the rabid Halo fans. I also understand that at about thirty second in the voice ever says "if it doesn't even bother you a bit that the makers of your favorite video game don't even bother to show you your favorite video game in the trailer for your favorite video game." I also understand that about fifty seconds in the voice over says, "when you see absolutely nothing wrong with paying sixty dollars for a game that lasts five hours..." So what point flew over my head?

Who said anything about replaying? It's Halo, unless you are a total FPS noob you always start on Heroic or Legendary. You're doing yourself a disservice if you don't, as clearly shown by the 'length' complaints.

The video is hilarious though.

Ok, so here's a question - if you just got a 360 and have never played a Halo game, should you get Halo 3 or Halo 3 ODST? My inclination is to pick up Halo 3 on the cheap, but I'm open to suggestion.

You took the video seriously despite acknowledging it's a satire.

Neither. You're still pure in the eyes of the gaming Gods.

I'd actually go back and start from the beginning to get the most out of the story (one and two are backwards compatible). If you don't care about the story, then start with 3, but ODST is worth your time.

I guess since I played and enjoyed both 3 and ODST, I'm not "pure" anymore. According to Captain Elitist Douchebag, anyway.

Not bad, pretty funny. Sometimes those sarcastic gamer guys are actually entertaining.

Thank you, Malik. If you have a product that sells, you're going to make more of that product. That's something called good business. If people buy the Halo games, MS is gonna wanna publish more of them. Pure and simple.
