Most of the stuff that Gamestop price drops tends to be in line with universal price drops, but because not all of them are, this thread is warranted. Also, if the price of the new item has dropped in price, expect the used item price to similarly follow suit and be $2-$5 less than its new retail price. Sometimes the used version drops first, but both are often around the same time.

Many of these items are sold out in stores since they're old and won't get restocked (Gamestop, after all, tends to make most of its money from selling used games), so you'll have to do a zip code store search for the appropriate title to hopefully find it in your area if you can't buy the item online.

All of this information is presented on the Gamestop website, but because of their new "Price Drop" algorithm, it doesn't really display when new price drops hit. Since I started keeping a running list for current platforms, I figure its easy enough to do a comparison to my lists every week. I generally run the reports once a week on Wednesday mornings, because I've noticed most price drops occur on Monday or Tuesday mornings so I wanted to catch those on the weekly report. If you find price drops sooner than my weekly Wednesday morning report, feel free to post them in the thread so others can get a "head start". I no longer have time to maintain this thread due to my new job but feel free to continue posting Gamestop price drops in this thread or if anyone wants to take over just let me know. Thanks!

Does anyone know if new and used price drops occur simultaneously on the Gamestop computers? I just bought a used copy of the original Oblivion on Monday for $26 and would like to exchange it for a used GOTY edition if it's the same price now.

seems like Armored Core: For Answer and BiA: Hell's Highway are staying at the $19.99 price...as they're still that way in the system. Squaresoft also dropped prices on a few titles, such as Final Fantasy Tactics A2, World Ends With You, and Final Fantasy XII.

This is a great drop for DS owners. $30 for the Square-Enix games "FF Tactics" or "The World Ends with You" is a nice $10 drop off two of the best games this year. They both are also now $24.99 used if you can find them.
*HINT: USE GAMESTOP'S ONLINE STORE LOCATOR*

Also, Civilization Revolution is a perfect game on the go. Look for the used prices on that and Kirby Super Star to drop in the next few days.

Thanks again, espionage!
FFXII for 10 buck? Nice, might buy soon.
Same here. It's tempting to get to add to my PS2 collection. Hopefully I can find a used limited edition since the price stickers will be easier to remove.

It makes me kind of sad to see Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway drop to $20 just two months after release. I think the general perception is that a game that drops that quickly is a POS, but it's really not. After all, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and Beyond Good & Evil (also Ubisoft games) dropped to $20 just a month after their releases.

wow the new Brothers In Arms tanked in price fast. Surprised Skate It for the DS dropped to $20 so quickly since it only came out like, 2 or 3 weeks ago.
so even though the price dropped, the general consensus is that brother's in arms IS a good game? if that's the case, i'm all over it.
Have you played either of the previous games? It's more of the same, take that as you will. As a huge fan of the first two games, I was a bit disappointed that this third game didn't take a big leap forward. But it's still a very solid tactical shooter. I thought the story was good, too, but it requires knowledge of the first two games.

played the first as a rental, didn't have time to play through the whole game, though. was fairly impressed with it. i might wait until i've got a little extra cash, i won't make this my primary purchase. that's still the 75% off dvd's.

Just a heads-up: Many of these prices may be temporary. Brothers in Arms, Armored Core, and deBlob, for example, all have stickers on them in-store that say "price valid until 12/7." They were all part of Black Friday deals that apparently last until then.

Also, the tiered trade-in ends on the 7th too. They better have some sweet promotions starting that week, or we'll all be "crap, too late."

Yes it is a very good game, especially for that price. As for the price drop I think it is just one of those cases where it gets lost in the shuffle with a ton of other releases.

If you aren't sure on it, the used price should have dropped as well as GS, so maybe just pick one up and try it out. If you don't like it you can always return it in 7 days.

Yeah, I had a clerk look up Brothers in Arms today and it still showed $59.99 in the computer, which is weird. Seems like other retailers have dropped it to $19.99 already.

The computer still rings it up at full price. The $40 off is taken as a promotion, so it only shows up at the end. That means that the used price will stay at $50.

I think this another sign to make sure you get this on or before Dec. 7...
why the hell did Armor Core For Answer tank so hard?
Bad release date. No advertising.

Anyone know if it's worth playing AC4 if you have 4A? I have AC4 in my backlog, but the new battles against huge as mechs looks tight as hell. I've only played about 5 or so missions in AC4 though.
Just an FYI, the CAGs in the BBV thread are reporting that Brothers in Arms and Amored Core are back up to full retail.
Yup. However, Amazon still has the PS3 version for $19.99 as of this posting time. (360 is out of stock via Amazon directly)

Not much in drops this week besides PC junk. Samba De Amigo is notable, but is already $20 on Amazon. Armored Core: For Answer and Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway are no longer $20 as discovered earlier so they've been removed from the list. Final Fantasy XII for PS2 dropped to $9.99 last week, but was raised up to $12.99 this week. Apparently it sold too well at that $9.99 price or something so corporate probably decided to squeeze a few more dollars out of it.

Nice drop on Final Fantasy Tactics A2. Sure, all DS games should launch at $29.99, but it's nice when Square-Enix DS games finally drop. $29.99 isn't really CAG-worthy, but it's the right price for me. I've come close to buying this at $39.99 so many times.

I think that GHWT drop might be a temporary holiday drop. Maybe not. But I just heard a radio commercial for GHWT advertising that it was $15 off at Gamestop for a limited time (and something about 5 free song downloads too).

World Tour has apparently been selling at a mediocre rate, so yeah, that's gotta be it. Add in the holidays with poor sales and all is sad. I know analysts have been saying that it's reached its saturation point, and that it's peaked.

Honestly, I'd say it's that PLUS the fact that they released some pretty crappy hardware. My drums needed a whole lot of tuning, and I broke the strum bar on my guitar (side note: They received it Nov 6th, and I still haven't received a replacement) so the only good hardware they gave me was the microphone.

Oh well, the CAG in me now REFUSES to buy that game for more than 19.99 new now. I was considering getting it before X-Mas so that I could take care of some of the back log I have.

Now I dont care how long it takes for it to drop, I am not going to budge.

Used, I wont get it unless its 17.99 or less.
thanks for the list...
only 1 question...
for the 360 you listed this...

"Need for Speed: Most Wanted $29.99 (from $29.99)"

um...whats the real price?
Im sure it's $19.99
Down goes blitz and tna..shock to no one.

At least overlord for ps3 is FINALLY dropping.. I wish they woulda done trophy support for it and id get it.
I agree, I bought the original Overlord I still think it's one of many underrated games I owned. If they would come out with trophies like you said I be tempted to buy it. In addition, I think if they tweaked the game a lot and made a new game for Wii (only?) it could be a good game.

If the thing about the 5 free song downloads is true I might check into, but I already have the guitar from GH3 :).

Ya I wouldn't buy it for more than $20 as well, but I still question myself if its worth it. Can anyone elaborate how the game is?

I just bought alone in the dark for ps3 on tuesday. Is there anyway I can return it and rebuy it at the new price, i bought it used too

im still waiting for the used price of Warioware: Smooth Moves to drop... dosent look like its going to happen tho

Good drops this week. BFBC & Mercenaries 2 dropped for 360/PS3 owners, and threads have already been started for The Last Remnant and Disgaea DS dropping, as well as the major Square Enix drops. Exit, Space Invaders Extreme, and The Legend of Kage 2 for $10 retail now are totally worth it.

Another problem for GS with regard to these musical bundles is space. You literally cannot move in some of my GStops because of the mountains of bundle boxes. That's space that could be filled with customers and the crowded appearance of the store discourages people from going in because they can't walk 5 feet into the store without bumping into people. So from GS's perspective there is a financial incentive to try to move these things out of the store asap.
Is Dark Sector worth it @ $14.99? Reviews are kinda mixed. Anyone have it?
I bought it at $59.99, and I thought it was a pretty kick-ass game. Has a pretty cool storyline, the glaive throwing system is pretty damn cool, and at $15, you can't really go wrong.
