Most of the stuff that Gamestop price drops tends to be in line with universal price drops, but because not all of them are, this thread is warranted. Also, if the price of the new item has dropped in price, expect the used item price to similarly follow suit and be $2-$5 less than its new retail price. Sometimes the used version drops first, but both are often around the same time.

Many of these items are sold out in stores since they're old and won't get restocked (Gamestop, after all, tends to make most of its money from selling used games), so you'll have to do a zip code store search for the appropriate title to hopefully find it in your area if you can't buy the item online.

All of this information is presented on the Gamestop website, but because of their new "Price Drop" algorithm, it doesn't really display when new price drops hit. Since I started keeping a running list for current platforms, I figure its easy enough to do a comparison to my lists every week. I generally run the reports once a week on Wednesday mornings, because I've noticed most price drops occur on Monday or Tuesday mornings so I wanted to catch those on the weekly report. If you find price drops sooner than my weekly Wednesday morning report, feel free to post them in the thread so others can get a "head start". I no longer have time to maintain this thread due to my new job but feel free to continue posting Gamestop price drops in this thread or if anyone wants to take over just let me know. Thanks!

here's the thing I heard - it was $29.99 everywhere else. Gamestop sold it for $34.99 because they wanted to make some money off of the charity bundle!

I think its worth the $20 myself. But then again, I dumped quite a bit of time into the version on Deviant Art

I'm down with getting the Simpsons game- demo was fun, but what do you guys think about Kane and Lynch? For 20$ I might get it for the story.

Hmm...the price drop in GRID tempts me to pick it up in the future buying it used+coupon. Now, which version to get though....

I, too, am waiting for GS to pricedrop Operation Darkness and Spectral Force 3, but I might just buy them at Best Buy to guarantee myself a minty fresh new copy.

They did similar with the Wii Zapper gun last year, selling it for $5 more than it should have retailed for...good ol gamestop
 
I just noticed that the Gamestop exclusive Fading Shadows (PSP) is down to $9.99 new. Now, maybe it's down to the right price?

Gonna try to pick up the Unreal Anthology for $5. Only really need the Unreal I expansion and PC version of Unreal II, but it'd be nice to have it all in one box, especially since all my original games are in random places I don't remember.

you're right - it's weird though that the website has two entries for it - the $19.99 one and the $39.99 that dropped to $29.99. And they are on separate pages too when you click their links!

It looks strange because people are not looking into the details on the page.The PS2 one is now $19.99 and the one for $29.99 is the PSP version that is yet to be released.
 
The $19.99 Mana Khemia is the reprint...while the one that dropped is the original, though I believe they are virtually the same outside of the extras that came with the original. They seem to be processing used copies under the original's pricing.
 
It's weird - I noticed that the used version of Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway dropped from $54.99 to $49.99. I thought it would drop down to $24.99 to follow the $29.99 retail drop but Gamestop is now selling the new version for $59.99 again. I also think Culdcept Saga dropped to $20 a while ago, so not sure why it's showing up again either.

Orange Box for $20 is universal now. Man... I've got it for the PC, but I don't like to reboot into Windows just to play it. I think I'll have to pick this one up again for the 360.

Someone else said they were told the $29.99 was only a temporary drop, which is why the used price never dropped to $24.99.

Just beware that any of the add-on content for TF2 the PC got has not reached the XBox yet. Valve wants to do it for free, Microsoft won't let them. There were previously rumors that Valve would bundle all of the content in 1 "map pack" for purchase but that hasn't happened yet.

This is one of the alternate games the CAG CoD clan plays, usually about every other week or so, so there are CAG's that do play it, but TF2 is far from the top 10 most played games on Live so don't expect to always be able to find a game regardless of what time it is.

Thats really all gamers need to know.

Can't wait for Mortal Kombat / DC & Saints Row 2 to drop. It is pretty common to find both for $50 new

You are right. But, I never got into TF2 much. On the other hand, I already beat Episode 1 and Portal, so that leaves me with HL2 and Episode 2 for me. Worth $20? Not so sure anymore. It's not like I feel like I missed out on the Half Life series. And of course there's the XBLA Portal if I want more Portal, but I don't know if I can get into it without Gladdos...

Guess I might skip it even at $20 :booty:

See, this is why I've stopped buying most games new, even if I have cheap credit. I haven't even played Persona FES yet. At least Culdcept Saga I played a ton before it dropped.

I'm glad I held off on Nights and LSW Complete Saga though.

On a side note reguarding the drop on Operation Darkness.. it Dropped to $19.99 at Bestbuy last week and now this week it is down to $17.99 and it will be that price in store as well even though its listed as outlet item on the site.
 
Hm, tempted to pick up Harvey Birdman now. $7 used with Edge/Cellfire, or if I could pair it with a few cheap games during the B2G1...
 
As much as I'd like to pick up Oblivion at that price with all of the bonus content, I know I'd never get around to playing it.

Last night, I saw a new copy of Legendary tagged at $29.99. I'm still waiting for a further drop on Zoids Assault, Operaion Darkness and Spectral Force 3.
