The Reduced Price Guide FAQ/OP has been moved to the SECOND post.

CE/SE/LE=HARDCOVER GUIDE

Yah I know, I was in store anyways and saw them on the shelves so I tried them. Been a while since I've seen the FABLE 3 LE guide.
 
I trained my one cousin(who went outta town for work with me and another cousin yesterday to an auto auction) how to find pennied guides at Gamestop. He snagged a copy of the Duke Nukem Forever CE and Halo Reach guides from the one GS, while getting an irate clerk at another one that was ticked off he found a pennied guide on the shelf still(one of those cheat code guides) who took the guide from him and whipped it on the floor behind him.:lol:

hmmm eragon and beowulf i wanted to try just for fun. also if conan pennied think the collectors did too??? my gamestop still has two of them new.
 
I'll add the PC games that dropped 3 or so days ago to the appropriate(pennied items that aren't guides) portion of the first page in a bit. Sorry for the delay. I've been trying to catch up on my backlog a bit.

All of these have been added to the pennied items/PC games/console games list in the appropriate post and I also added DC Universe Online as both the PC and PS3 normal and Collector's Editions of those pennied a while ago.:cry:

Lol sorry. I can't believe there still hasn't been a drop. I was hoping that since a new Assassin's Creed and Halo comes out tomorrow that they would be getting rid of the previous guides. Curse you BestBuy.
 
A new drop at best buy has to hit soon. Too many new games/guides coming out for such limited shelf space. It does make sense for them to wait til after bf in case they sell more guides.
 
Guys the number of guides on Bestbuy.com has dropped from 95-82 today.

All were removed. Some of these guides have been out of stock on the website and many were listed as not available for shipping. That being said if nobody has scanned today it would be a good thing to check for as it is Monday. I know I'm known for hyping stuff like this but it seems very likely to me there was a drop today.
 
If someone can scan some of these and maybe some older ones that dropped off tonight it'd be great. Any west coast cags feel like doing so? If not I'm going to Best Buy tomorrow to pick up Saints Row 3 and Revelations so I can try, but it won't be till later in the evening.

I was in my local store #0685 on friday morning (picking up skyrim) and confirm I saw all of theses guides being removed before they dropped by an asset protection team member. Seem's the district no longer gets "credit" for those guides that are sold .01 cents. That or publishers wish the loses to be validated and not superficial due to potential lost revenue with the .01 cent guides.

Memo for the drops was from thursday 11/10/11.

I can confirm that too....I talked to an employee on Saturday while getting Skyrim and he had pulled the guides (he mentioned black ops specifically) but said that they never pennied out. They were sent back to the warehouse.
 
wait, so are we talking about the end of penny guides as we know it? I don't feel fine..well glad this site exists for trades b/c I know I'll never get one from GS if they're the only place left in town for them. Sad day indeed :cry:
 
I got word from my old co-worker that the guides dropped today. I will pick them up later. I saw the stack in the back of the warehouse sometime last week, but thought it was weird how they weren't pennied out yet. He let me pick a few (I only chose 5, one copy each) and held them for me until when they actually dropped.
 
I've always have had massive luck at Best Buy in the past. The media guys are slack and never pulled, and the checkout people were clueless. I would roll up with 35 guides in my cart, offhandedly mention they were "clearanced" and never had a problem. This changed for the August drop, where all 4 stores in my area were pre-pulled. I will make the rounds this evening after work, but I'm not holding my breath. It looks like they have really cracked down and started pre-pulling.
 
At least one of my local BBs has a third-party company now merchandising their media area, and as media covers games, movies and music, my guess is that it covers game guides as well.

Maybe that's the change we might be seeing, since it's a third party company doing it, they can take a closer/better look at the pennied items and pull them before they penny out?

Damn I'm stuck at school until 10pm tonight. I'm tempted to leave class early this evening to go try to price check some guides like Black Ops. But from what I gather you guys are saying, I probably won't even find the guides and even if I do find them, they will ring up full price anyway? This really sucks.
 
The BB I went to earlier still had stuff that was listed earlier as well as the CEs of AC Brotherhood and Mortal Kombat. I even saw 2 copies of Metroid Other M?! The only things I had scanned were the 2 CEs since those are the ones I really really want and they came up full price :(
 
My Best Buy still has these sitting on the shelf,
so even though they are overdue for a drop,
it hasn't happened yet.

Portal 2 has pennied out. I just purchased a copy. I didn't get the chance to check any others... but... many of the guides listed were still present on my shelf. I mainly focus on LE/CE guides, so I was really hoping to check Fable3, but no go at my store.
 
Thank God for once I was correct about a drop! fuck yeah! I feel like if Portal 2 dropped many if not all of the others I listed dropped as well. Thanks so much for the confirmation Kramer!

Hell yeah. Last I checked my Bestbuy had like all of these. Thanks for more confirmations! What Kingdom Hearts did you mean?

The Cheat Codes was probably Winter 2011?
 
Ah!! Went to my two local BB in Anchorage, usually they are great about not pulling even months after but look slike they were prepulled, except for some La Noir guides. I can confrim they are a penny. I feel like this well is drying up, with BB prepulling and GS always prepulls I might have to pay more for my guide addiction
 
only got two duke CE guides, this particular store has all the guides scattered and put them with the games. also picked up ac brotherhood ce (the game, not the guide) for $24.99 ymmv clearance

also checked sims 3 ce, homefornt ce, full price
