The Reduced Price Guide FAQ/OP has been moved to the SECOND post.

CE/SE/LE=HARDCOVER GUIDE

Picked up a few guides yesterday so wanted to say thanks to the OP of yesterday's drop and also to IATCG for maintaining the thread.

The SIms 3 is the softcover white one not the hardcover green one nor is it any of the small ring bound expansions (unless its the much older ones that pennied)
 
ordered: DR2, Madden 11, SWTFU2Games I own: DR2, SWTFU2. "You're order is on it's way" is for Madden 11.... damn.. the one that ships I don't have the game. Still, might pick it up if I can find a copy of the new rosters somewhere
 
I went back to the BB closest to me, and saw the list and grabbed 1x of everything they had but POkePark, Madden 11, WWE. There were no Fallout 3 GOTY, and she took the last NSMB & Epic Mickey.

Thanks Ultragamer. I'll try going in and just editing like I did last night(cut/paste the line above where I wanna post into where I wanna post n then just edit in the SKU/name for NSMB) since CAG ain't 100% fixed yet.:bomb:
 
just got back from my usual gold mine bestbuy and barely scrapped anything. poke park guide x4 star wars 2 ce guide one sealed one just guide no isbn paper metroid other m x2 sealed all are for trade. really wanted golden sun and mass effect 2 ps3 version =(. i know we cant do trades in here so if anyone has golden sun and mass effect id like to talk in pms.
 
Looks like my 3 local BB pulled them all First time all 3 have been on the ball. Guess I'm gonna have to start tryin to order them for pickup next time

Nope got everything. I asked another store to get me one of each out of the back. Ask thr "media" guy , they may help you get the guide you want.

In the past, the media guy was the only one on the ball and would deny any sale of pulled guides. Some time ago, my wife was able to get one to bring a cart of pulled guides out from the back, but she has assets I cannot employ.
 
Folsom, CA - got Raw v Smackdown, Golden Sun, Madden, and Sims 3. Left at least one copy of everything but Sims (only one they had). But hurry, the guy who rang me up was confused and I don't trust him not to point it out to a manager type. He must have tried to ring up Madden 5 times, after the initial .01 price. He called someone over, but I told him they were all a penny and he ended up going through with it and waved off the help.

When did these first drop? I completely forgot to follow this thread.

I'm heading back to my Best Buy tomorrow. Was there today to pick up some new movies.

It dropped yesterday but I actually paid for my mine last year sometime when GS had it for $10 I believe. I really haven't kept my eye out for it but I'm almost 100% sure those guides were long gone for a while now.

You know the funny part is I don't think I've used 90% of the guides that I have picked up for games I later on ended up owning. I only really use a guide if I'm completely and totally stuck. Although when I went outta town for work about a month ago and my boss didn't lemme go on one of my pillaging runs in NY state I found out there's a very interesting bank heist mp level in Kane & Lynch 2. It sounds REALLY good. But I have yet to even try it.

Nothing other than the fact that it's hard to find and the secondary market is sky rocketing in price at the moment.

Interesting... I wonder why it's in such high demand, I have one from launch. Don't get me wrong, the guide is great but it's not like SMB is rocket science lol
 
Some people most likely just want it for their collection and/or want to find any hidden items without a lot of hassle. That's really all I use my guides for is if I'm really stuck or I'm trying to find a couple hidden items that're left out of a set number to get an in-game bonus(i.e. the hidden packages in GTA III/Vice City, which gave you weapon spawns at your hideouts for each 10 you found).

The only one I've seen recently is Sims 3 (which was OOS when I checked today, all they had was medievil pack and the hardcover guide.)
 
Some of the coins are a bitch to find which was the only reason I picked up the guide without having the hassle to look it up online.

Stores around me have a ton of older books. I'm quite annoyed that the hardcover Halo Reach guide has been deleted since September 2010 yet it's still $35. It will NEVER penny out.

Force Unleashed and Resident Evil 5 were deleted from the website for the longest time before they finally pennied out as well. It will happen, be patient.

It's in the same league as the FFXII CE guide, which is still in stock(in mass quantities:roll:) at Gamestop. Although I think they finally reduced the price on those to $14.99. Every GS store around here has about 5-10 of them and the store that is the DM's home office had 30 at one point.:lol: I know, I counted them when they were on the shelf. Actually they made a makeshift bottom shelf for the one display rack at that store by stacking those up.;)

I bought the game earlier in the year and am halfway through the campaign now. I don't need a guide, I only wanted it to go with my legendary edition.

Yeah, I thought that sucked too when I saw copies of it at every Best Buy. I managed to buy one for .01 at Gamestop a 3 or 4 months ago. I got really lucky and found a really cool GS employee willing to let me buy it. When I was at Best Buy Monday, I did see a dude buy a Halo Reach game. I guess because they still must sell a decent amount of Halo Reach games, they must think they can sell the hard cover collectors edition guide as well.
 
Received my shipment of Sims 3, PokéPark, Metroid, and DR2 from Best Buy today. Can't believe they actually shipped all of them for $.05, lol! Now to see if I ever get SW TFU2...

Visited my local BB and no luck, at least not for anything I wanted. Saw a ME2 guide, but wasn't sure if it was the Ps3 version. Does the Ps3 version SAY Ps3 on it somewhere? One I saw had a print date of 2010 on the back, so I figured it was the 360 version

Are the Other M guides the ones that say "Premier Edition", or are those a different guide that hasn't pennied yet? Those were there, but I'm probably never gonna play Other M so I didn't buy it.

Ah well. Last to my BB put the guides back up after a pull, so I'll probably go back later in the week.
 
Found two copies of SWTFU2 today, that's all they had though. I'm definitely going back to that particular Best Buy the next time there's a drop, since the store manager is really nice (the cashier called him up to make sure he wasn't making a mistake, and he told him to just give me the guides.)

Picked up 2x NSMB Wii today along with 5 of the Cars steelbooks. Not bad for $.07

Didn't even have to pay a cent of tax!
 
Those Cars 2 steelbooks pennied as well? I was just looking at a stack of those up in NY state a couple of weeks ago. I had one price checked and it came up $7.99.:roll:

I went to pick up my online order in store today. I went to the guide rack and they had about 8 of the Other M guides that said Premier Edition. I got a couple for a penny and got the last Epic Mickey CE for a penny. Left 6 Other M guides there for others to luck out.

Too bad no luck on Golden Sun!
