You have the Bayonetta guide, shrike? If you don't mind my asking, how much did it cost you?

BTW, congrats on passing that 1K trade mark. You, sir, are a machine. :)

I have one too. I got lucky and got mine for $30 shipped via Amazon 3rd Party seller before it inflated like crazy. Still sealed too. :D
Like Pooky is with RE, I'm that way with Mass Effect. If the upcoming "Art Of The Mass Universe" covered everything in the add-on art book for the "CE" version of the ME guide, I'd sell back my ME guide to Amazon without a second thought.

The Assassin's Creed artbook, I'm fine with selling that off separately. Sorry to hear that dropped from $60 to $50.
Wouldn't an all-encompassing ME art book kill the value of ME1's art book, though?

Anywho, might pull the trigger on SO:TLHI. I like the 360 cover better, and I'll never trophy hunt that damn game. 1000 or more hours for a platinum? lololol
It seems like the current hot items are still AC:revelations and Skyrim CE. I have both of those. I will grab RE Archives 2 and Dark souls (it looks really sweet and is cheap at gamestop right now). Maybe some others but if anyone else has more information I am all ears.
Dark Souls was reprinted, plus the recent patch rendered a lot of the information in the guide relating to weaponry and armor useless/obsolete. I think a few other things are void, as well. Not sure if it's going to end up being worth much more than MSRP ever again.

It does look pretty sweet, though.

Well, this thread has certainly switched gears...I think I'll be trading in my SO:TLHI guide (already locked in), especially since it looks like there's a guide on GameFAQs that might be better to use (which I'd print out, obviously).

Looking at the AC:R CE guide's going rate, though...Dang, I almost think I should use my "50% off a guide" coupon at BBY on a copy I saw at my local store and put it up for sale at $49.99 or something. Since I can't find another Skyrim CE guide anywhere, it looks like a toss up between this guide and the single copy of the Borderlands GotY guide at my closest BBY.

On that note, I noticed that the AC:B CE guide is going for a little under $70 new in the Marketplace, which is tempting considering I still have a single sealed copy. Can anyone comment on how necessary that guide is for the game (e.g. Are there collectibles as annoying to locate as the feathers in AC2 that I'd need a map for?)?

Thanks for the info about Dark Souls guide being a reprint. I wasn't paying attention to that. It is like 11.xx at Gamestop right now so it isn't a bad price but probably won't go up at all then. Just looks cool, maybe helpful regarding the game, then again I would also have to purchase the game then.

Locked myself in for $144ish via 2x of Mass Effect Artbook and 1x of Assassin's Creed Artbook.

Man, Oblivion GOTY is $50ish. I think I can do slightly better on eBay (and I need cash too). I have 2 copies of it.
So for the artbooks for Assassin's Creed and The Art of Mass Effect, can I not trade in the copies from the bundled copies for $50+?
Sorry for the late reply, but yeah you could break up the bundles and trade in just the artbooks. That's what I did a while ago with the AC artbooks.

im not saying im not happy but man sometimes it makes you wonder if you should sit on guides longer for rpg games. i was going through my collection of harvest moon guides few months ago and saw what animal parade was getting. decided a benjamin was worth it for the guide.

You can do better on ebay for the Mass Effect if you got sealed bundle.

You know what makes me laugh is that Animal Crossing: City Folk gets about $6 from Amazon, yet on the Marketplace it's a $30-40 guide. I'd rather get cash than credit for these items if I could help it.
Feels bad not having any of these guides to trade in for massive amounts of Amazon credit.

Feels very bad.
Me too

To anyone trading in their art books to Amazon, do the ones from the AC bundles have UPC or ISBN codes? My Mass Effect art book that came in the bundle does not and I'm thinking that Amazon might not take the trade because of that.

IATCG said he broke up the bundle to trade in the AC art book. I thought maybe the art book lacked a ISBN due to the bundle TIV being so much less than the art book itself.

I have a sealed AC bundle I am not going to open to find out.

They took mine when I traded them in last year sometime, so I'm going to say that YES they will take them. Of course, as is expected with NorAm this may be YMMV.
Bunch of price drops on the Best Buy website:

Interesting. I may have to see if I can get some of these bitches to ship.;)

EDIT: Scratch that since they're all mostly sold out online and the ones that aren't are also unavailable for shipping.:bomb: Oh well. Nothing there I really wanted anyway.

.....Awesome. Thanks for the heads up on the AC and ME artbooks CAG, they've just been collecting dust on my guide shelf since I got them for a penny!!! It's nice to see 2 cents turn into almost $100!

The AC guide sounds like it's good to go but the art book in the MC bundle is different from the one that sold standalone. It has no UPC or ISBN and the Amazon trade-in requires the ISBN to match the one in their listing. That's the one I have and I don't want to send it in and risk them not giving me the quoted value because of that.

The ME bundle you mean? If so, just open the art book up to the 1st page and the ISBN is at the bottom so it's all good. I wondered about that too so I looked around for it.

Interesting route this thread has gone. I do appreciate the heads up. Got rid of my AC and ME art books. I found a ME art book alone at a Books A Million today. They wanted $34.99 for it alone though.

I have a non-bundle Art of Mass Effect I got for $10 at Hollywood Video closing. Might just trade it in, I love Mass Effect but yeah, it's just gonna sit there.

Also noticed Dragon Age: Origins CE trades in for $41.28 - pretty sure it has no barcode though.

Man I used to have the AC LE and ME LE with the artbooks and sold them on here last year for under $10. I knida wish I had kept them now

Any chance that Amazon would downgrade these to Not "Good" condition & then pay a much lower amount.
Anyone traded guides to Amazon before?
How picky are they with stickers/residue or minor wear

Does "Good" condition mean that the guide has to be complete with any pullout maps/posters included? My SO:TLHI guide still has the two-sided poster in it, but if I don't need to send that with the guide, I'll keep it.

I've hunted for that AC guide and art book for years and recently bought it. Why not help others out who need it?

First off, no one NEEDS a guide or artbook. Look, hoarding stuff may be one thing, but why would any sane person turn down a trade in value such as these for something that most of us collected for some aesthetic value coupled with the fact that they were only a penny. It's basically turning these books which have been sitting on shelves into free money right before the holidays. If you have a problem with that, I don't know what to tell you.
I'm helping out someone who needs a guide so badly they will pay me $100 for it \\:D/
+1 lol

Anyone know if they have plans on a Tales of the Abyss guide when the 3DS version comes out? I'm on the fence about trading it in for $40 (sells for just under $50 on ebay).

Yes. They've done that to me before with some DVD's that I traded in. They were still in the shrinkwrap. I opened them up and then sent them in, yet they still downgraded them.

Thanks for confirmation. I doubted as much especially when they are recieving same stuff (that trades for a lot) from bunch of people
Not a guide obviously but I found a Tron:Legacy "Flynn's Arcade" t-shirt at BB today for .01. It was next to the T:L BR.
I've been looking everywhere for one of those. congrats!

I'm with you there. I had a bunch of harder to find ones for a while and I never checked values on them. I always treated the ones I bought for $.01 as disposable in 'even' trades.

One thing that always amuses me though is how even if stuff is marked 'trade only' people will pull out the 'but it only cost you a penny' routine(as if you ALWAYS only paid $.01 for a guide) if you scoff at their offer of $3 shipped for an LE guide.

Anyway, while not all pennied guides, here's a link to BB's site showing all VG related items sorted low to high. There's quite a few decent items for under $5 on there. Most are sold out online though, but you could find some cheap stocking stuffer games if you can grab em in store.

There are a couple of penny guides that come with free shipping. Nice losing proposition for best buy. In for some, why not.

edit: nevermind no shipping allowed. Damn.

Anyone know a way to get UPC #s from these guides? I've looked around online and found a few UPC sites but I keep getting error pages after typing in the guide I want. Only curious because a local video game/movie shop owner said if I have the UPC # that he could possibly get them from his distributor.

Maybe I missed the reason for this, but why in the hell is the Skyward Sword CE guide selling for $60+ on Amazon? Was it confirmed to be rare already?
I've hunted for that AC guide and art book for years and recently bought it. Why not help others out who need it?
Yeah, sell me your guide for $10 so I can flip it to Amazon for $50. I could really use it.
