I was asking if anyone has gotten the Resident Evil 6 guide for a penny based on the post above. Because if they are indeed a penny, then I could potentially get a lot of them. I didn't see what the price was though...

Yes, it's a pennied guide. As I mentioned in a previous post, it dropped on 7/24.

 
Okay, OP is updated. I was ultra lazy with that. The Resident Evil 6 guide appears to be the only reported one that dropped. However, if you find more, I will certainly be interested.

there might have been more that was there earlier. cause guy was not sure if they where still there. guess they needed to clear out back room space and giving away was better than trashing them

 
the new managers at my gamestops have cracked down on the penny guides sadly. the legend of strait edge the guide pirate is nothing more than a memory now that my gamestop friends still bring up to me from time to time, sigh :(
 
Saw mixed reports on this, so I'm just asking:

Is the 50% off guide sale over at gamestop?

Some posts indicated that it ended last week while others seemed to be referring to a coupon that is still valid.

Picked up two penny guides @ TRU today.

Was happy to find the Batman guide as I missed it when it dropped at GS.

The 50% off sale is over. I tried to pick up a guide in store on 7/31 and it rang up full price minus standard PUR discounts. I think the sale ended on 7/30.

Sorry, been away from the Penny Guides for a while, and apologize if this was mentioned earlier:  Has Best Buy stopped pennying out guides?  Looking at the first post, it looks like they have done on in a while.

It just says Out of System now. Some employees might just give it to you if you happen to find an out of system guide, but they should just reject you and send it back.

 
Just found a DoA5 at BB and was denied.

The noteworthy part is that they guy ran it through RSS and one store shows 5 in stock near me.
 
Even though it's no longer on the website the WWE 13 guide is still coming up $19.99 in store at BB.

 
It looks like someone made a major oopsie on the Best Buy site. There's 191 guides showing up right now, including a ton of pennied guides going back very far(2005 is the oldest I see so far).

However, even the ones that have an active add to cart button are out of stock for shipping thus far.

The flip side to this is that should you be able find one of these in-store, you have some leg to stand on in that you can PM these to the website now since they ring up as "unavailable for sale" in-store hahah.

I had this problem the other day at my Local BB, they had a Guild Wars 2 HC that wasn't in their system, no one could figure it out, the cashier got the manager and he told the cashier to charge retail for the guide. fuck that

BB is pretty much dead for guides because of the change from 1 penny to being out of the system. That's why I was asking about TRU.

If it rings up, you have a pretty good shot. At BB, it's about manager discretion which means it is less likely.
 
so the gs guides are a penny?

got shut down this week at BB pre ordering D3 and found a FF - xii 2 ce guide that came up a penny. cashier seemed so confused that after one guy came over and said ask the warehouse, i gave up.

Sorry, gamestop price drops don't always work that way, or I wouldn't have $10 soul calibur v and amalur guides. I wanted to verify the price and asked a question a few minutes after he reported the drops. Just say that you wanted to jump in with snarky comments and you ended up looking like a douche.
